Alex at Stony Stratford Brown and Merry is absolutely incredible, as a new family looking for a home she put our mind at ease and talked us through the entire process. Despite repeated requests to take me off their database they keep phoning and emailing. The people phoning don't seem to have a clue. I have had to add their phone to spam calls block list to get rid of this agent! So glad I did not select them to sell my house as they are hopeless! Update 11/7/24. Just had yet another nuisance call from Stony Stratford office. Clearly they do not understand Data Protection laws!! I will now be reporting this company.

Words of caution for buyers through this branch, be aware as a buyer you are guaranteed to work with the least trusted sales team, and your time and money are likely to be wasted. Looking at previous reviews we put lots of faith this to manage our purchase a property in King Street waiting what seemed like a straightforward chain with seller finding a place to move. Seller kept us waiting for 6 months until our mortgage offer have expired wasting our time and money. It was discovered later this property seem to had failed to complete chains before due to seller changing mind and delaying the process indefinitely for unknown reasons. The agent didn't mention chain history when viewing the property and just left us to try our luck with the rogue seller using our time and money. The agent irresponsibly did lots of convincing for the buyer to wait the chain to collapse after 6 months wasting buyer's money and time , and would simply relist the same property again without even a notification to the existing buyer (Is there a need to mention the word unprofessional here?). There is no laws forcing seller nor the agent to guarantee the completion of a sale, however if there is a score of morality and trust I would give this branch 0 points. I would expect any decent agent to at least: * Inform buyers of sale history in case there were any issues or chain delays from seller. * Try to get sale done, and if seller is not genuine based on their previous experiences let buyers know as soon as possible. * If sale is failing, let existing buyers know before relisting. * A decent agent should not relist a property for a deceitful seller which consistently failed to meet their promises to complete a straightforward chain, unless you don't care about buyers running away from this branch again.

We have recently bought our property, sold by Brown and Merry Stony Stratford. Our first viewing of the property was from Alex and right from the start he impressed us hugely. No ‘Estate Agent’ arrogance or salesman nonsense, just a really nice guy who was helpful, informative and knowledgable on the property. We couldn’t have asked for a better first viewing. Further down the process I dealt more with Jake who couldn’t have been more helpful every step of the way. He answered every question I had and made it possible for us to communicate with the vendors with ease. He has even made it possible for us to ask questions since moving in which is way above and beyond. I’m not sure where we would be or what our sanity levels would have reached if it not for Jake managing the sale of our first home. He went above and beyond what I would expect any agent to go to in helping us get through a few tricky situations during the sale process. I can’t credit him enough for what he has done for us over the last 5 months. From the minute I walked into the branch, Sarah was so friendly and helpful, cared about our situation and the pain we had gone through from a previous failed sale with another agent. She looked after us from the get go. Even the staff which had no part to play in the sale were a joy to deal with, just the friendliness and care taken by all is such a lovely experience and I cannot recommend them enough if you’re in the local area.

Absolutely amazing. Having become disappointed with our local agent, we decided to list with Brown and Merry. What a difference, we were after a quick sale and couldn't have hoped for more! Sarah was professional and efficient, and gave excellent advice (including increasing the offer price on the property, which had been decreased by our previous agent to try to, unsuccessfully, drive interest). Professional photos were booked quickly with our property reappearing on Rightmove just in time for the January peak. The team were proactive finding potential buyers and within a week we had multiple viewings in the diary. And one of them turned into an offer at asking price with a cash buyer - perfect. The team continue to keep their finger on the pulse, checking in and supporting progress.

We do not believe we could have chosen a better estate agent to market and sell our investment property. Living abroad as we do, we needed an agent who would provide an efficient sales service and give us the comfort that we had someone with the requisite knowledge and also act in our best interests. Telephone conversation regarding a rental property advertised that had unfortunately been removed from the market, led into an additional conversation relating to another prospective property. It was at this point the female colleague learnt that my wife was disabled, and her immediate response to my wife was to tell her that she would need to pay a year in advance, a total sum nearing 16k. On receipt of this deplorable conduct, a complaint was made to the appropriate head office, which led to a conversation with a senior body, followed by email correspondence from the area manager. The explanation for the behaviour was honestly pathetic and stated that her actions were because there contracts ( plural) say so, following further nonsense and recusal: implying and or stating that this is normal practice and that it is not abnormal. Brown and Merry have acted intently with discrimination, dishonesty, and illicit incompetence. AVOID AVOID AVOID
