I definitely recommend the Darlington office of Smith & Friends. Right from the start when Louis valued my property he was very informative, friendly and took great photos. At the start of the sale process I dealt with the majority of staff who were always friendly. Joy was looking after my property and was very friendly & professional keeping in touch throughout. Towards the end, even though she was off work following an operation, she still took the time to keep me up to date and check if I was happy with how things were progressing. My buyer also commented how pleased he was with the communication from Joy. Thank you to all the team. I will definitely use your services again.

We only chose smith and friends because we saw they had sold a significant amount of properties in our area. I'm very happy to report that they were the correct choice.After dealing with Jess and Michelle for a brief period due to our house being offered on almost immediately, I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of their performance. However... A special thank you to Joy who handled the majority of our interactions for through sale and closing - she is reliable, efficient and helpful. Many thanks to Nicola, Megan, Joanne & Catherine and everyone in the Hartlepool office, for getting a drawn out sale across the line and completed.Very efficient agency, who I would happily recommend. We had feedback from every viewing and we knew when each viewing was booked and taking place, this was useful to know as the property was an unoccupied BTL, so you are dependant on the actions of your agent. Very efficient and checked the property for us each week to satisfy the insurance requirements as we live 200 miles away : ) Thank you! x

Very poor integration and management of…

Very poor integration and management of property purchase from previous owner (Selling on behalf of company who re-possessed the property) Expectation on a sale of a property is professionalism which has lacked in this purchase , when viewing the property I found the property secure and in suitable condition to place a bid. I then privately paid for an independent survey to be completed on the property and when the surveyor attended the property the access was not provided to certain parts of the property (External Balcony). The property was completed on the principle that it was just the wrong set of keys that had been taken on the day of allowing the survey. Trust was then broken as when I was issued the keys on completion I found that there had been a maintenance activity performed on the locking mechanism (barrel changed) and the keys no longer worked in the lock. Meaning that the property was left unsecured on sale which is not acceptable.Furthermore , no keys were provided to access utility supplies which were isolated by the company of which Smith and friends were representing.

The staff at Smith & Friends Darlington were helpful from start to finish. The sale of my home was particularly stressful and emotional for me and had a few hurdles along the way but Joy was always on hand to reassure and guide me, nothing was too much trouble. This was my first experience of selling a home and found overwhelming and confusing at times however the staff were very patient and dealt with my many ‘wobbles’ professionally but in a personal way. Excellent service and friendly

We recently sold our house with Smith and friends. Their service was fantastic all of the staff we dealt with especially Joanne and Rachael always found time to talk to us. It was not an easy sale as our first buyer pulled out at the last minute, the staff then ensured our house was seen and we had another new buyer pretty soon. All of my calls where taken in a professional and friendly manner and no query was too much hassle for them.
