I had a really good experience with uk rooms being my letting agent, it was my first time moving on my own and is was a very nice experience, Alex Kearns went out of his way to help me with any issues I had specially with being dyslexia I was very nervous but Alex alway took the time to help. Excellent service with professional staff with a genuine attention to detail

My experience with Greg and Matt and the Manchester branch was a dream.These agents are professional, understanding and accommodating. From start to finish they went above and beyond for me. From organising a remote viewing to enabling me to move into the property at a convenient date. Renting can be hard, especially during a pandemic and I have often felt the agents don’t have time or motivation to see things from a tenants perspective of trying to find a place that can be a home. Both Matt and Greg were generous with their time, clearly explained what they needed from me for the move in process and made it as painless as possible.There is a genuine sense that they see prospective tenants as individuals and the care and attention they put into the process from viewing to move in date reflects this. Mike in UK Rooms For Rent always provided speedy responses to my emails. When working on the front line I really appreciated their speedy and efficient service. On one occasion the boiler broke in the house. I rang Mike during my lunch break and he sent someone out to fix it that evening. There was also an emergency out of hours service that I used. Efficient Service and Smart Properties

We lived in a Salford property during our second year of uni, and the responses to any issues or problems we had were efficient, polite and helpful. Mike especially was persistently helpful and forthcoming with options when we had to sort things out, and made life much easier than it might’ve been had someone else shown less attentive care to catering to our needs.Alex was also a helpful and friendly member of staff who came to do inspections, and managed to make them feel uninvasive, which was a nice improvement to student halls in first year. He offered advice and assistance wherever possible and explained potential points of confusion regarding the house that made living in our first house not only tolerable but straightforward.My only concern was the occasional difficulty in dealing with external contractors, though I believe that maybe this is outside of the control of the company anyway. Even then, this was only due to delays in service which were certainly outside of the control of UKRR.Finally, throughout the coronavirus lockdown they were supportive and allowed us an additional week in the property in order to take our time moving into a new property, which was a tremendously useful aid.

The most unprofessional and unorganized agency I ever had the misfortune of dealing with Everything went fine up until the viewing. We went for a couple of properties where I heard that the agency required a fixed 6-month contract. This was a problem for me since I only needed 4. After calling the agency, I heard that it would be possible to rent a room in Salford for 4 months. After this, I sent them the deposit and preliminary information for the credit checks, etc. I didn't hear anything back for 1-2 weeks. After this, I called the agency and the company, which was responsible for the background checks. They informed me something was wrong and odd since the application had been pulled. They got back to me about it after some queries and 're-opened' the application without any explanation on why this had happened and why the delay in responses. I should have known right then to drop the process and search for another property. After initial checks, the company responsible was incredibly slow to handle anything and inform the rental agency. The rental agency didn't get back to me despite many calls and emails asking about how the process is going. They never actually emailed me, and all the discussions happened through the phone. Once after I got hold of them and the checks had passed, they promised me a contract in the property. Bear in mind that I was promised a 4 months contract, but once mentioned this to the agent ( ), he paused for a while and told me to wait for the contract to arrive and check if there's anything wrong with it. I never received any contract. It took another 1,5 weeks until I was done with them and asked for the deposit's return because of their unprofessional and ridiculous behavior. This was the only time they actually followed up quickly with their calls, telling me that the property was ready to move in, even today! I told them it was ludicrous to expect me to move in with 1 days' notice since I was renting another property; I was supposed to give them a notice 30 days prior. It would have been apparently possible to rent the room whence I could get out of my current property. Still, I was fed up with their disrespectful behavior and ridiculous process of handling things. I asked the deposit to be returned via email, and they replied the next day like clockwork saying they can't return it. It seems no one knows what is going in this company, and multiple people who I talked to or emailed never furthered the messages they received. They might be a scamming agency, but I am not too sure about it since I actually saw a person living in one of their properties once I was viewing it. Anyhow, unless you enjoy a rollercoaster ride of stress and emotions, I would suggest you seek another agency.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

Lying thieves

I would give zero stars if I could. Absolute lying thieves and will do everything to scam you out of your deposit. They always send their incompetent imbecile handymen to do repairs months after raising maintenance issues, only for the issues to remain due to incompetent repairs. Most of the time maintenance requests are just ignored. They should be shut down, did I mention they are lying thieves? The positive reviews for these lying cowboys look super fake as well.

I have rented for many years and always found it difficult to work with letting agents as they always seem to just want to let the property and then disappear. UK Rooms were a real breath of fresh air. Very knowledgeable team and made sure all my requests were considered so I had a nice home to move into. They are also prompt at dealing with my my maintenance requests and sent proper tradespeople rather than basic handymen. I couldn't have asked for more.

Absent in times of need

So this company is fine if all you need is someone to manage payments for you. Their downfall is when something goes wrong, they don't seem to understand anything at all about management of a property and as a result, everything takes ages to get done. also they are not very responsive after issues arise, and they do not call back when they say they will once you have entered into an agreement. I do agree, the onboarding is quick, but once you're in that contract, that's it. Stay away

Horrendous agency to rent a room with. I rented a room in Salford and the house was a complete nightmare. They left us without hot water and heating for weeks. And even without gas for an entire day. They stopped taking our calls when we tried complaining several times. They're a big scam. And I'm stuck can't even leave the house because of how unlivable this place is. Because they're charging me 350 to break my tenancy early.

PLEASE DO NOT RENT ANY HOUSE USING THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY. I hope that any students and students parents will take my advice on this. I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt that I must do this one. The house my son rented with 3 other students was absolutely disgusting. Rooms were covered in black mould, broken fixtures and fittings, dirty furniture, disgusting beds etc etc. They are very slow to act on any complaints and seemed to think that it was ok to demand rental payments on mouldy rooms that were uninhabitable. At the end of the lease they demanded money for deep cleaning, oven cleaning, removal of personal possessions etc etc. They are a total con. They take advantage of young adults who they intimidate with threats of more charges if they do not pay. Please heed my advice - do not allow your kids to rent a student house from these people.

Extremely disappointing experience with UK Rooms for Rent. The staff's rudeness and consistent avoidance of query phone calls demonstrated a complete lack of customer service. Moreover, the failure to carry out necessary repairs and attempting to charge me for pre-existing issues was both unprofessional and unfair. The attempt to deduct from my deposit through hidden charges added another layer of frustration and unprofessionalism. Overall, my experience with UK Rooms for Rent was negative, and I would caution others considering their services.
