On the 11th July 2022 I received confirmation that my offer on a property had been accepted. As of 17th January 2023, I am no further to moving into the property than I was over 6 months ago. Since July, Thornley Groves have provided misleading and false information. There is a tenant currently in the property I am purchasing. On the 7th September, I was told the section 21 notice had been served to the tenant and court proceedings had started. This was in fact a lie, or at best complete incompetence a failure to check facts. Court proceedings actually didn't start until 14th December, over 3 months later. If the truth had been told to me back in July, I could have looked for another property and been in my own home by now. The incompetence of Thornley Groves has cost me solicitors fees and mortgage broker fees. By the agent's own agent's admission, ‘paperwork wasn’t checked.’ The property was never available to be purchased, the appropriate paperwork was never checked, and at every step, to cover their incompetence, they lied. Whether you are selling, buying or renting, avoid Thornley Groves at all costs.

I can't recommend Liam Pope at Thornley Groves highly enough. Mine isn't a high value property, but this didn't seem to matter. Liam sold the property very quickly and professionally. Any calls or emails were answered straightaway and he couldn't have been more helpful and hardworking. Not only is he professional, he even offered to get my shopping when I broke my ribs and couldn't get out! How kind is that! I really cannot fault Liam and his team and would recommend very highly to anyone looking to sell their property.

I had a very positive experience overall with getting some rooms rented out - specifically with Liam Pope of this Prestwich branch. He was very on top of things - kept continuous communications, responded swiftly, assuring and efficient. He also went out of his way - he would response late at night and even weekends to ensure things kept progressing. He was also friendly and patient throughout - maintaining a positive attitude to ensure my worries as a landlord were addressed and gained my trust to know that he will get the job done. One reason I didn't give a 5 star was because I didn't experience the same delight with other Thornley Groves staff. Not that they were bad - they were good but I felt Liam was really a leading example of what they could be. Another reason was that it was hard to reach the offices via telephone sometimes, but perhaps this is not always preventable as there is only so many people that can answer the phone.

Karen Filson has been supporting my wife and I in trying to find a new property, and we have now been successful in locating a place. My wife and I had a lot of specific requests for a place and Karen has been very helpful, patient, and just overall made us feel valued as customers. Liam was extremely helpful and quick to respond for any queries or concerns. When Karen -who was equally lovely - was out of office, he was very kind to process our application and answer any questions we might have. Amanda was also very friendly! The entire team is very professional and welcoming. A lovely process getting our first flat! Edit - I also left a separate review for Karen but I can’t find it so I’ll say it again! Karen was so lovely, and extremely helpful in showing us a range of great flats.
