GoogleWrote a review about this poor organisation. The owner took it so personal he breached data protection so the original complaint has been deleted. These people are disgusting shame on them and they should take a look in the mirror. I've handed notice to leave my current tenancy as a result which confuses me as to what these people are responsible for. All I know is that they send disgusting letters and have the responsibility for garages where I live that are unsafe and a health and safety risk. Whoever these people are deserve no stars but sadly for the review one has to be provided. I'd rather have cancer than speak to these cretins.

Hi Ollie, It appears that you've deleted your previous review, rather than it being removed by Google, however, my original response has been removed nonetheless. I'm unsure what you're referring to with regards to an alleged breach of data protection, please do clarify your comments. From memory, your original complaint stemmed from the property manager of your development being unable to return your call within your required 10 minute window; they were out of the office when you called and you were advised accordingly. When your call was returned you were advised, correctly, that the garage in question was owned and maintained by the leaseholder who was your landlord i.e. not Stevenson Whyte. You then decided to verbally abuse my staff, calling on several further occasions and threatened to "come down to the office". To repeat my previous comments; I simply will not tolerate abusive or threatening language or behaviour towards my colleagues. All calls are recorded and anything further will be referred to the police. Our service level agreement ensures that queries are responded to by the end of the next working day, though in practice this is usually within 2-3 working hours. Andrew’s experience in managing complex situation has been priceless . I have always found Andrew very responsive and goes out of the way to help the residents . I have worked with several property managers but truly : Andrew has an edge over everyone . He is committed and client centric . This makes him the best . GoogleI currently rent a flat through Stevenson Whyte and have had brilliant customer service with William. I ended up in a position where my flatmate had to leave the tenancy early due to financial problems and Will has been brilliant in assisting and sorting things out whilst I found a replacement tenant. Great employee and is a credit to the estate agent. Thanks again Will!

GoogleNever rented with them before,but since we moved they been absolutely amazing! Had recently a periodic inspection and Yaz asked us if we have any issues and she’s been so lovely on making sure all our issues are addressed . They came to do an inspection only after 6 months living at the property. With our previous agency we only had one inspection in 6 years 😅. First class on taking care of the property and tenants!👏👏👏

GoogleRenting through Stevenson Whyte has been a breeze. They have been very helpful throughout, including organising some maintenance that was needed. William and Rae were particularly helpful and always responded to queries quickly. Now that we are moving out of our place, they have give us all the information needed with respect to viewings and such. Great company and great people!

GoogleBooked a viewing on 5th May, said I’d take the property, took until 11th to set up asking for referencing. Took £75 fee for referencing. Paid on the 23rd, no reply for 9 working days so I had to chase it up. Four days later get an email asking me for information they missed off previously so I missed out on a different space waiting for them. Refused to refund referencing fee even though they haven’t done the referencing. Just use a different agent.

Hi Andrew, I'm sorry you've chosen to leave a negative review, though i'm afraid you haven't quite explained the situation. You indeed viewed the property on 05/05 but did not pay the commercial tenancy referencing fee until 23/05. As part of the commercial referencing process we require the last 3 years of your company/personal tax returns, which you refused to provide. We offered you the alternative route of supplying a guarantor, you refused. Reference checks had indeed commenced but, as you refused to provide the further proof and documentation required, the landlord chose to not proceed with the letting of their commercial unit to you until you had. This is absolutely standard practice throughout the industry, we simply have a job to do to verify a potential tenant's financial standing before committing to a contract. I wish you luck in your search for commercial space but please provide the information required by the agent/landlord in order to proceed. Kind regards James Stevenson Director

GoogleAs a landlord I would not recommend this company to manage your property. The sales department was better, but the service from the lettings side was consistently poor over 18 months, despite me contacting directors. Could go on for ever about various things but will give the main ones: failed to keep property in a good condition with a series of botched maintenance jobs, failure to pass to me information relating to matters that needed attention and failure to find contractors to attend for months; failure to provide inspection reports when requested, including returning tenant bond before giving me sight of exit report. Excuses they provided included "we are a small company", "I thought I had sent you the report" and then bizarrely "you didn't ask for the report". Absolute mess. They did pass on rent in a timely way, but the series of other errors meant I had zero peace of mind over 18 months.

Hi Paul, I'm sorry that you've felt the need to leave a negative review, though know that you did for the agent prior to us too. You haven't mentioned that the issues mainly stemmed from tenants claiming to be COVID positive on several occasions to deliberately prevent access to the contractors asked to attend, which they also did during sales viewings. We managed the property almost entirely during lockdown, when contractor availability and general processes just weren't the same, but we tried our best nonetheless. Google- Successfully selling our shop in a town centre We first hired these good folks circa August 2017 ish to value and sell our leasehold business premises, which one of the fine gents called James did within 7 months...for a very acceptable 5 x figure sum. The process was efficient and straightforward throughout for us and the buyer throughout, with James being an honest and sincere (very important, considering some of the #other big name business selling agents/brokers out there who were far less so) go-between middle-man. *** - Renting in a regional City Centre Currently during 2019 however, once again #StevensonWhyte this time through a youngster couple of staff members, Jennie and particularly Master William, have been #very courteous and #helpful in securing (literally within 24-48 hour) repairs for key maintenance issues such as #LeakingPipes to faltering #HeatAlarms within the short term rental property we've leased for a few months here. - Separately, my family had also asked Master William for details regarding the #landlord and #maintenance support packages their firm may offer, (as we're looking to secure 2-4 properties, as things stand, to #rent out in the near-medium future around the North) which again William was very efficient to the mark with also. Of the 4-5 different property agencies we've dealt with in recent times, #StevensonWhyte (with particular emphasis on team members William and Jennie, really stand out for us) really stands out as one of the top 2 agencies Mom and I would be comfortable in entrusting new business to...and hopefully heavens allowing, we'll be able to do so again, for mutual benefit, very soon in the future. - 5 stars out for the Staff members customer service & simplicity of the admin aspects. - 5 Stars out of 5 also, for the efficiency of repairs and maintenance Keep up the great work guys :)

GoogleAs a portfolio Landlord I have dealt with many estate agents in the past and I can honestly say that Stevenson Whyte are by far and away the best and most professional estate agents I've ever come across. I can't praise them enough for their excellent customer service and their swift response and effort in dealing with any issues that arise. Stevenson Whyte have recently taken over the management of the apartment building in which I own my flat. The previous management company were extremely difficult to deal with and left some pretty large lingering problems when they left. SW were an absolute breathe of fresh air. The legacy problems were assessed and dealt with straight away. The main thing though is the communication, I now don't feel left in the dark on when repairs are made and if my emails have even been seen. Sophie especially has been fantastic in keeping me up to date on everything and replying extremely helpfully and politely to every message, something the previous company never did. I am very grateful.

GoogleI have been using Stevenson Whyte for 10 years to manage my property, and recently to sell it. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Both James and Jennie are quick to respond to any queries and deal with everything in a professional but friendly manner. If there was ever an issue to be sorted with the property, they would find a solution before contacting me, then check if I wanted them to go ahead. For me, this solution-focused approach was worth everything. In terms of the sale, Jennie was incredibly helpful in dealing with the buyers and the solicitors and really helped to make every thing as fuss-free as possible! Thank you both again!!!

GoogleThe best estate agents I have used in the 10+ years I have been living in Manchester city centre. There were some small cosmetic issues when we moved in which were sorted immediately, and at a time that was suitable for us (not, as I have had with many other agents, by just letting themselves in as and when they please with total disregard for a tenants privacy - I'm looking at you Buckley Frayne!) James Madden who is our property manager is an absolute pleasure to deal with. Polite, responds in a timely manner and genuinely seems to care about tenants on a human level which is so refreshing from a city centre agent. Could not recommend them highly enough.
