Kingsdene has provided an excellent service throughout our tenancy. We would definitely recommend them. They are very professional and friendly. Especially, Catherine Payne - we never had any difficulties dealing with her as our Property Manager. You would know that she knows what she is doing. She is also lovely and respectful. We really appreciate her honesty, and the help she provided during our tenancy is excellent. We thanked as well, Victoria Whelan who was the one who helped us from viewing the space and securing our flats. She is also very helpful and accommodating.

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Kingsdene for just over two years, across two separate apartments at Potato Wharf, first at Goodwin Building and later at Wilson Building. Both experiences were utterly appalling, and it’s clear they have no regard for their tenants' well-being or quality of life. While I’ve already left a review about the first apartment, I now find myself compelled to share the horrendous experience with the second one. The Condition of the Apartment I rented the Wilson Building apartment with a friend. We were exemplary tenants, always paying rent on time, keeping the apartment clean and tidy, and leaving it in better condition than we received it. When we moved in, however, the apartment was far from the “professionally cleaned” state they claimed. The kitchen floor was so sticky that our shoes would stick to it, and there were even leftover salad leaves stuck to the floor. The bedroom carpet had a large yellow stain, supposedly “professionally cleaned.” However, when we used a supermarket carpet cleaner, it came out immediately. The toilet seat had dried human urine on it, and the utility cupboard was littered with dust balls and tampon wrappers. We took photos of everything and reported it immediately to Kingsdene. Their only response was to ensure we left it in the same condition we found it, no offer to rectify or re-clean the apartment. The Mould Nightmare In July this year, we experienced a sudden and rapid spread of mould. Within two days of noticing the first patch, it had spread to every single room in the apartment. Completely panicked, we called an emergency plumber over the weekend to ensure the property was safe to live in. When we informed Kingsdene, we were met with hostility. They told us we shouldn’t have called the plumber, as now the landlord would have to cover the cost. Worse, they claimed it was our responsibility to keep cleaning the mould off the walls until they decided to act. We later found out the cause of the mould: a leak in the neighbouring apartment that had spread directly into ours. Kingsdene was fully aware of this but never notified us. They admitted that our apartment was the worst affected. Despite sending them constant photos, videos, and emails documenting the severity of the situation, their response was dismissive. At one point, we were told, “What more do you want us to do? We’re getting constant calls from you.” Living Conditions During Repairs After a week of pleading, Kingsdene finally sent someone to address the mould. This was after my clothes and shoes were ruined, and I couldn’t sleep in my room due to the smell and health concerns. The repairs left our home unlivable for three weeks: Furniture was moved to the middle of every room. A pipe was installed into the toilet, leaving the bathroom unusable for showers or privacy. A dehumidifier ran 24/7. We asked for temporary alternative accommodation or a rent reduction, given we couldn’t use our space properly. Kingsdene refused, claiming it wasn’t the landlord’s fault. Ironically, we later learned the landlord was able to claim back costs from the neighbouring property, leaving us out of pocket and with no compensation. The only offer Kingsdene made was an early termination of our lease if we wanted to leave sooner, hardly a solution for the nightmare they put us through. Move-Out Experience When we finally moved out in October, we left the apartment in pristine condition, better than it was when we moved in. Despite this, Kingsdene nitpicked over “dust” on the skirting boards, which were actually marks left by the mould, and even consulted the landlord to see if they could deduct charges for it. Conclusion Dealing with Kingsdene was a horrific experience from start to finish. Their negligence, dismissiveness, and outright hostility made renting with them unbearable. For anyone considering renting through Kingsdene, my advice is simple: stay far away.
