GoogleWent on a viewing on the 12th of August at 10 AM. Everything was ok, the agent told me the flat is available. I went to 2 more viewing, later that day we decided that we want this flat. Called their office to let them know that we want to rent the place. We have been told that it was ok and that an agent will call us later in order to start the application. Fast forward to next morning, no one called us so we decided to give them a call. We have been told that the flat was just taken in the morning. We told them we called a day before and that we let them know that we want the flat. We have been told that they do not know who we have talked with because no one said anything about it. We have been told that it is not their fault. Is it our fault?
In short, very unprofessional team.
See, you just try to make it seem like it was our fault, instead of admitting that it was a miscommunication problem inside your company. We called you to say that we want the property, we were ready to pay the holding deposit and everything needed BEFORE the other offer came trough, but we have been told that someone will get back to us within 15 minutes. No one did, and when we called back we have been told that there was an offer in place.

Dear George. This time of year is extremely competitive for property and we can only apologise the outcome isn’t what you’d have hoped for. I believe you spoke with both Sian and Fil to express your disappointment today and despite another offer being accepted they still put your offer forward to the owner who decided to proceed with the offer that had already been accepted following a viewing that had taken place the week before. Our advice would be to place the holding deposit as soon as you are interested as said before the market is incredibly competitive and waiting even 24 hours before committing can be crucial in you losing the property.
We wish you the best of luck in the search for your new home.

GoogleFrom the first day I started using Julie twist, there was not one issue I reported which Sian (D) didn’t address/ ignored like some estate agents would. She has gone the extra mile to make sure I am okay. She even worked extra hours just before her Christmas break to bring my moving in date earlier.
I am also very happy with Carla (M) from Maintenance and the maintenance team who have been very responsive. The maintenance team left my place in a tidy and organised manner after visiting. They even made my bed :)
Thank you Sian, Carla and maintenance.

GoogleWe cannot thank Paul Sutemire enough for his help throughout our move. it has been an arduous process with many stumbling blocks, and neither party's solicitors seemed bothered about moving the process along. Paul has been incredibly helpful throughout, always prompt at replying to emails and returning calls, and has diligently chased other parties for us. We are very grateful for his help pushing this through. His customer service is excellent and it has been really helpful having at least one person on our side throughout a miserable process.
While Paul's performance fully warrants a 5 star rating, we feel we can only give a 4 star overall. The reason for this is the other members of staff we dealt with. In particular, Sarah Leach was rude and blunt via the telephone, and unhelpful throughout the process. Despite providing documentation and evidence of deposit immediately upon request, Sarah told us to provide all information necessary to complete the sale within a week (!) or it would be put back on the market. Ironically, it then took 4 months for the seller to complete the sale!
If you are dealing with JT then I highly recommend asking for Paul.

Hi Christina, Thank you for your review and kind comments regarding Paul Sutemire. I’m sorry you felt your experience with Sarah Leach was not of the same standard. Sarah is a very experienced consultant and it is extremely unusual for us to receive these comments regarding her attitude. Many Estate Agents won’t take a property off the market until solicitors are instructed on the buyer’s side and I think knowing more about the situation may explain Sarah’s urgency better. With good faith we took the property off the market when your offer was agreed and cancelled any further viewings to avoid you losing the property. After a week of no solicitors being instructed, the owner asked us to remarket the property and this was communicated to you with some urgency as again we didn’t want you to lose the property to another buyer. Sarah was under pressure from the vendor but worked hard to keep the property off the market and successfully managed to grant two further days for you to instruct solicitors. Thankfully the sale did progress to completion and I am really sorry that you felt that way regarding the manner in which you were spoken to but I hope this goes some way to explain why.

GoogleIt has been such a god damn nightmare dealing with Julie Twist who does not seem to do anything else but hand us the keys to the flat. There has been problems after problems.
1. I received a parking permit fine because no one provided us with the relevant permit. We only found out we needed a permit when we moved in.
2. Our landlords changed and we have not been informed so we paid rent through a standing order to the old landlord until we got a notification that our deposit protection has been cancelled?!!!?
3. Absent agent who does not respond and reply when needed to sort out problems.
Still dealing with this!!! Absolutely the worst experience i have ever gone through with a letting agency.
Edited: the landlord did not even know about the need of the permit as they've allegedly not been informed. The new owner is trying to sort this out with Helen and have apparently been phoning her to get this sorted but she's not been picking up.
As the letting agents are professionals in this trade, you should be able to provide full information on what is needed within documents etc to whoever that is enquiring. I would appreciate it if you sort this out asap and give the new landlord a ring.

Hi Felicia, I am sorry to see you have left a 1 star review. After looking into the issues you have raised, I do not believe that your comments regarding my company Julie Twist Properties are valid as these issues have been out of our control.
Your property is let only which means the landlord deals with everything after we have moved you in, this includes any changes to standing orders, maintenance issues or any other issues that involves the property, you would have been provided the landlords contact details when you moved in
We were not made aware that the property was being sold or had been sold until the new owner contacted Helen to advise that she is now the new owner, however we are currently waiting for the new owner to send us evidence of this, we cannot transfer anything until we have this evidence and the old landlord should have informed you to stop paying the rent to them.
I am sorry that you received a parking ticket, however all information regarding the property is provided by the landlord including parking facilities, we were not made aware at any time that a parking permit was required, had we been aware of this we would have ensured that you received this when you collected the keys from us on your move in.

GoogleDifficult admin process when short staffed and many errors for move in. They have addressed many issues within the week of move in, but there are communication issues.
Don’t expect to find a simple letter or anything inside flat/house that Julie Twist prepares before arrival because the agency doesn’t check the property in person before move in, especially on a quick turn around.
To improve your service a simple letter that says welcome or something the agent has to leave in the flat day before move in ads a reassuring touch
Window: unrepaired
Closet: Construction site vibes in one of the sections

Hi Sophie,
(This response is an earlier response. Sophie’s review has now been edited.)
We deeply apologise for the inconvenience of a bed not being present and the window not being repaired upon your arrival to the property (Oct 7th 2024 approx 11am). As mentioned in our communications via phone and email, we were informed by the landlord that both the instalment of the bed and window repair would be taken care of prior to you collecting keys. I totally appreciate your disappointment on arrival to see this was not the case. You had emailed the office with your written formal complaint (Oct 7th 2024 15.59pm) and the office manager acknowledge your complaint with a written response (Oct 7th 16.36pm). Sian expressed your frustrations to the landlord and had advised the landlord that in your best interest, we should order the bed and mattress on his behalf to guarantee a delivery as soon as possible and he cancel his arrangements. Sian informed you the bed & mattress would be delivered the following day. (Oct 8th 2024 14.29pm) My understanding is the bed and mattress has now been delivered. The landlord is onto the window repair as a matter of urgency.
Your acting property manager was off on bereavement leave, which was very unexpected and sudden. I believe you have edited this fact out of your original review.
Regarding your comments on the inventory, we will always give tenants the opportunity to make any amendments to the inventory and ask that they are as detailed as possible, this is encouraged by us in order to protect your deposit at the end of the tenancy. You were provided with a full descriptive inventory, despite what your review suggests, as you hadn’t realised two pages were stuck together and later apologised for the error. We welcome feedback on how we can improve our systems but unfortunately, we cannot control human error.
We hope to work with you amicably for the remainder of your tenancy and trust we can move forward from this. We wish you a very happy time in your new home, and we apologise again for the disappointment you were met with upon arriving to the property.
*EDIT, thanks for increasing the stars on the initial review Sophie, we do appreciate it. Just a note on the letter upon arrival, we do provide all tenants with a ‘Tenant Guide’ detailing key information you will need for the tenancy. Manuals etc often are lost and damaged so these are no longer left inside of the property, but all manuals can be found on Google by searching for the make and model number.

GoogleHaving recently been in Manchester, looking at rental properties, it was my pleasure to deal with Louisa and France at Julie Twist Properties. Louisa was friendly, helpful and accommodating on the phone. And France gave me a thorough and informative tour of the property I asked to see - as well as being at the property at the agreed time. Based on my experience, I would definitely use Julie Twist again to find the properties that few Agents seem to have on their books.

GoogleI bought my flat through Julie Twist nearly 5 years ago and didn't bother looking elsewhere when the time came to sell. All of the team members are really experienced and it shows on both the buying and selling side, I just felt I could trust them. Paul was a real star and I believe he made the difference between the sale succeeding or not - the solicitors were a nightmare and it almost fell through, but he chased them tirelessly every day and relayed info where it was needed in order to make things happen. The whole team goes above and beyond and everyone in the office was always up to date on my property. They did everything possible to take the stress out of the process - both buying and selling, I started by just walking into the office off the street and they took it from there. A relieved customer!

GoogleWe recently sold our property through Julie Twist and Paul did a great job throughout. Pre-sale, it was quick and easy to get photos and measurements taken, and get the property listed. Viewings were well managed and we always had notification of any that were coming up so that we could prepare. Once we’d accepted an offer we were unlucky enough that the process became quite complicated (through no fault of JT) and Paul went above and beyond to ensure lines of communication with the relevant people were always open and we were kept informed of what was going on. Overall have been very happy with the level of service we received and would recommend Paul and the team at Julie Twist.

GoogleI viewed an apartment at Salford Quays yesterday after liaising with the estate agents for the appointment. Everybody I have spoken to in regards to booking the appointment have been friendly and responsive.
An address was provided however it was quite difficult to find the apartment block, and I was unaware there wouldn’t be road parking nearby, meaning I had to drive down the road to park in the Lowry car park. This wasn’t an issue for me but it meant I was about five minutes late to the booking. The estate agent was quite rude about it and I found it a bit unprofessional. I understand it’s frustrating but I don’t think it was necessary to be that way. I wasn’t the only viewer with issues finding the place.
The apartment itself was as described on RightMove and the agent answered any questions we had. Ultimately I decided I didn’t want to go ahead with making an offer.

GoogleI'm having the worst experience with this agency.
When you sign the contract everything is really nice, and they are really polite. But when it comes to them upholding their end of the contract, they are completely unreliable (lack of communication, missing appointments and returning the deposit).
In the contract they say that they will return your deposit 10 days after leaving the property. After more than a month and a half I'm still waiting for it.
Now I've received an email in which they tell me that I would be charged 240 pounds for a few blue tac marks on the walls. Walls that where already dirty and had damp marks when I moved in. Forgot to mention that in the first email we received they said it was gonna be 60 pounds deduction. Where is this massive increase coming from?
They are charging us another 140 pounds for the blinds, which where already broken when we moved in ( but this one is our fault because we didn't checked) The new tenant asked for this blinds to be fixed, and the property agent said that they were not that bad, so they are not fixing them. So they are bad enough to pick money of us, but not bad enough to need fixing.
Really bad experience, I don't recommend anyone to use this agency.

Agent replied · 16 June 2024
‘Hi Daniel,
Thank you for the below which I was sorry to receive.
I can confirm that we always endeavour to return deposits within a 10 day period however when there is a dispute it is not that simple as all parties have to be in agreement.
I note that the original quote to put right the blu tac marked walls in the apartment was £240.00 but we only request a contribution to this in an attempt to resolve the matter and this was the £60 mentioned, when we chased up the proposed deductions with you the original quote was inadvertently passed on to you, however the £60 is the proposed contributory deduction.
We can refund any undisputed amount to you immediately and as your deposit is securely registered with the Tenancy Dispute Service (TDS) you are also able to raise a dispute with them if you still do not agree with our findings following the check-out inspection report.
Once again I am sorry that you felt the need to leave this review online and do hope that an outcome is reached soon for you.
Please feel free to speak to me, if you wish to discuss this matter further
Many thanks
