Absolutely appalling treatment of renters

Nobody ever answers the phones.Was contacted via email & voicemail with an offer for a rental property we had applied for, only to have the offer rescinded almost immediately because I was in work & missed the call.I responded to the email offer just 25 minutes after receiving it, only to get a brief response advising that they had already given it to another tenant & it had been accepted.There was absolutely no curtesy of giving us a chance to call back, there was absolutely no attempt made to contact my partner who was also jointly applying with me.I know that the rental market is competitive, but imagine punishing potential tenants for having a job! I have never been treated with such contempt and disrespect by a business.

Quality staff providing a quality service

I have used JF for several years as my letting agency and on every occasion, they have proved themselves reliable, informative and professional. There may be cheaper agencies out there and there may be more expensive ones, but since Jordan Fishwick has never failed me and has always delivered the goods, I see no reason to take my business elsewhere.On this occasion, their marketing was excellent and led to several offers to rent my flat, and I have naturally accepted one. My main point of contact throughout the process has been Joely Brooks. She has gone the extra mile in terms of making things run smoothly, and finding a very fairly priced decorator to freshen my flat up.So, thanks mostly to her, along with her colleague Yasmin Dowe for making this a seamless and rewarding, trouble free process.

As first time buyers this whole house buying process can be very daunting, and without proper guidance and advice it can be very scary as well. However, we bought our first property with Jordan Fishwick Chorlton, and I honestly could not imagine doing this whole process again without Maura and her team. We had a particularly difficult time with our solicitors, and Maura was there every step of the way to help us. What information we weren’t getting from our solicitors, she would make up for. She would let us know what to expect next, endlessly call our solicitors, and constantly keep us in the loop about what was going on. Maura was always very professional, would answer emails and phone calls instantly, and we really felt like we were speaking to a friend not a salesperson. I would highly highly recommend using Jordan Fishwick, especially if you are a first time buyer. We will definitely be using Maura and her team when/ if we come to sell this property in the future. massive undervaluation of our property - which sold for 46k more

Would not recommend. Marcus Dobson came to give us a valuation of our property and told us that the best we could hope for was £540k - we'd had a number of estate agents out at this time and they had shown us similar properties that were going for £575k and above. Consistently, they told us that the price should be at least £575k (there was actually a similar property, in not as good an area on at this price). Marcus told us that, this property hadn't sold and that he could put it on for any price, but that in his opinion we'd be looking at the £540k mark. We sold our house, shortly after (a matter of a week or so) for £585k. 100% would not recommend - £46k reasons why!Response to their reply. I wasn't the only one who disagreed. Every other estate agent did and so did our buyers. A 46k undervaluation = 1 star review. Suggests you don't know the market.

Dont use Jordan Fishwick

My experience with Jordan Fishwick has been disappointing, particularly in comparison to other agents I've worked with. They charged me £1900 to find three tenants, despite my involvement in the tenant selection process. For one tenant, my mother and I conducted viewings and chose the tenant, while Jordan Fishwick only handled referencing. In another case, they simply forwarded a video I had filmed to a prospective tenant, essentially rendering their service redundant. It feels like I could have achieved the same outcome by using OpenRent.comFurthermore, the last tenant they found caused substantial damage to my recently refurbished flat. It's evident to me that Jordan Fishwick prioritises profit over providing quality service. I'm convinced they intentionally attract problematic tenants to pressure landlords into utilising their property management services and incurring additional fees. They are absolute fleecers!Given these experiences, I strongly advise looking elsewhere for property management services. Jordan Fishwick's practices demonstrate that their primary concern is extracting money from clients rather than delivering value. I will not hesitate to share my negative experiences with others in both Macclesfield and Chorlton, and I will be seeking alternative solutions for managing my properties.UPDATE:Please look at Jordan Fishwick’s arrogant response.Full of contempt for landlords. As it happens I don’t make thousands of pounds of income from these properties. The business is up to the hilt with mortgages and profit margins are very small, these are purely for my pension as I work for myself. The problem I have is that.I took all my own photographs. Had already paid once for getting a tenant in. But, was charged for all the marketing etc all over again when the tenant they got in moved out. All they did is repost the advert, didn’t do any viewings and replied to one email and then charged £750. When I was promised it was going to be £450.This is where my problem lies with Jordan Fishwick. As you can see, a reduction in fees for multiple lets and no viewings should be implemented.They mention that I don’t have them managed so why should they care…Why on earth would I have them managed when this is my main business. Why would any sensible person spend £1000s on fees when most things can be dealt with directly with the tenant. Landlords who use agents to manage maintenance aren’t really in touch with their tenants in my opinion, or have dozens of properties and just look at profit, I like to get involved with the properties and like the fact that the tenants feel comfortable to ask me directly for help etc. I want my tenants to feel like they can get directly in touch to sort a problem out faster. Not go through a middle man.I rest my case.

We were interested in some of Jordan Fishwick’s property listings and looking forward to register with them as potential cash buyer, suggested a date for us to come in to show proof of ID and yet they refused to book us in until they see the proof of fund for last 3 months. We have provided them our fixed deposit certificate with an UK bank dated 7 months ago and maturing in 5 months. And yet they still insisting that wasn’t sufficient. We have tried to explain a number of times, being a fixed deposit we don’t get monthly statement. We even provided them with proof of fund came from sale of our last property.Unfortunately we have to forgo on those potential properties. Can’t imagine how hard it will get dealing with them in the future. Just can’t bring ourselves dealing with amateurs. Sellers beware! They are driving away a lot of potential buyers from your properties!

Only care about landlords, not tenants

Jordan Fishwick were unprofessional and tenant-unfriendly from the start. After applying, it took over two weeks, and a second application, just to get a viewing. When we finally viewed the property, the agent clearly wasn’t interested. No proper tour, no answers to our questions, and they wouldn’t even open the back door so we could view the garden. I submitted an offer the same day, but was told they were holding off for four more days to show the property to others before presenting offers to the landlord, a clear attempt to start a bidding war and drive up the rent. Not acting in the tenant’s best interest at all. They use Goodlord for referencing and documents, which was terrible. The system crashed constantly, was inaccessible for people with disabilities, and had no real support. Then came the holding deposit debacle. We paid in good faith, completed referencing quickly, and were then left in limbo, no tenancy agreement, no legal protection, and told the landlord wouldn’t sign until two days before move-in because they weren’t sure the current tenants would vacate. That meant almost a full month of waiting with zero certainty. Although the tenancy guide included a mention of the 15-day legal deadline for signing, the required written agreement to extend was never discussed when we paid the deposit. It only came up after I brought up the law myself. That’s a huge issue. Tenants shouldn’t have to know housing law just to avoid being misled or left vulnerable. Summary: Jordan Fishwick care only about landlords. They disregard fairness, don’t communicate key legal protections, and treat tenants like they’re disposable. The entire experience was avoidably stressful and frankly disrespectful. Avoid them if you can.

Disgusting company. They will tell you to sign agreements and pay rent and deposits even tho they haven’t had an agreement with the landlord. We was meant to move into a flat on 1/8 everything was signed and agreed the day before however the landlord decided, even tho we passed every check and signed everything and PAID everythng, she wanted a guarentor. This was never stated before hand and even tho I told the agency I more than likely wouldn’t be able to provide one I was still advised to pay and sign as they could talk the landlord round. I was then told at around 4pm the night before my move they the landlord had said no. So contracts signed everything agreed rent paid and they mess you around like that. The company refused to do anything or care about the situation. I had to argue all that night and the next morning for my money back immediately which I still had to wait for. this company just likes to waste your time and money. This was mine and my partners first property together and now are too scared to try again as this experience was awful we’ve lost money for moving vans etc as everything was booked as we was due to get the keys in the morning. No one told me this may not go through as far as I was aware I’d signed not one but 2 tenancy agreements to still be told no.

Wow! above and beyond.

I have used the Wilmslow branch for both Buying and renting properties before, always receiving a highly professional Service, however my last transaction, a property sale, needs special mention. This transaction turned out to be both extremely complicated and extraordinarily long, taking many months to finally get over the line. Through the whole process Guy and his team, especially Richard, who went above and beyond to get the deal completed. Without him, I can honestly say, I'd have closed the whole transaction down. Richard and team at JF Wilmslow did a great job for us from start to finish. We contacted them on a Tuesday, by Thursday the house was up on Rightmove with full description, floorplan and photos. By the following Monday we had a number of offers on or above the asking price. As the sale progressed (we were on a tight timescale) Richard continually liaised with the various parties involved and moved them along where necessary.
