GoogleOakwood Estates has shown a worrying lack of professionalism and respect for tenants. The staff clearly do not understand even the basics of property management and have no regard for tenant privacy. Firstly, they allowed a potential buyer to take photos inside the property without the tenant’s permission, a serious invasion of privacy. More recently, they tried to access the property without informing or getting consent from the tenant, which is completely unacceptable and unlawful. Letting agents have a duty to act responsibly and lawfully, but Oakwood Estates has repeatedly failed on both counts. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a competent or respectful agency.

GoogleI have been nothing but sadly unimpressed by oakwood estates. The whole buying experience was not joyful in the slightest and felt their customer service was very poor. We felt lied too and had lack of empathy through the whole process with a large number of important issues that were just brushed under the carpet. However I must praise Kirsty as she has always been kind with a smile on her face when we have spoken to her and offering us drinks when coming into store. i feel you are just a number with this company with only a commission target to being hit.

We really pride ourselves on delivering the best customer service we can and as you mentioned perhaps we should have told you when we went above and beyond to ensure a smooth completion, which included offering to collect keys from the vendor 10 miles away and a member of the team starting their working day early to meet you for the key handover. Google*UPDATE* In response to Oakwood's response, we did not orchestrate any kind of chain collapse - twice we had an offer accepted and on both occasions the sellers had their purchase fall through, in the space of a couple of weeks. Sounds too coincidental, right? What an unprofessional and disappointing response from a supposedly reputable business. --------------------- Unfortunately as a first-time buyers my partner and I didn't have a great experience with Oakwood. On two occasions we have had confirmed offers fall through after two different sellers (who we were assured had a target property lined up ready to go) were unsuccessful in their own purchases. This was after weeks of daily aggressive and repetitive conversations asking us to increase our offer, without also asking the vendors to come to the negotiation table in the changeable housing market we find ourselves in in April 2023. We were given all sorts of frankly bizarre stories as reasons for increasing our offer, including that another party "would have offered more but had a stillbirth so had to pull out"... why on earth would you tell another buyer that?!! Totally unprofessional. Strangely enough after the increased offer was accepted in both circumstances, total radio silence followed and it was us chasing Oakwood for an update on the situation, as if it's OK to let us as the end chain buyer to sit dangling on a thread as we've got nothing better to do. Definitely felt like we were given the runaround and used as bait for a quick sale, only to be dumped and forgotten about when an offer was accepted. Needless to say didn't get so much as a response when we pulled out of the current offer. Would not want to do business with a company that treats a several-thousand-pound transaction with such contempt and tries to take advantage of young first-time buyers. I am very skeptical of all the one-review 5* comments here.
Dear Mr Goodliffe Having reviewed the file we note that your offer was accepted on 21/03/2023 on the basis that our vendors would need to find a suitable property to purchase. You subsequently emailed us at 17:48 on 05/04 (15 days later) to (apologetically) advise you were withdrawing from the purchase as you had found a different property. Apologies if we were unable to respond to your notice of withdrawal immediately but the office would have closed at 18:00. We are therefore left rather baffled by your negative review given that you have orchestrated this sale to collapse and were pre-advised on acceptance of your offer that the chain was incomplete as our vendors needed to source a suitable purchase. Your other comments with regards to an offer relating to a 'stillbirth' are totally unfounded. We find this to be unacceptable and we strongly condemn the use of slander against our business or any of our employees.
