GooglePrivate tenant for two years. No real issues during tenancy aside from the fact that they can be quite slow to arrange repairs but generally better than most. Very bad experience when ending tenancy. Despite complying with their request to get the flat professionally cleaned and using a (very expensive) professional cleaning company that they recommended the clean was not to their standards. Winkworth then decided to perform further cleaning without informing me and then charging me for the cleaning so I was left with a further bill for £120. Absolutely scandalous considering the amount I'd already paid for their recommended cleaning service that was clearly not up to their own standards. Unsure why they recommend services that don't do the job they require. Won't be using any of the Winkworth agencies again because of this.

We are sorry to hear you have been unhappy with the return of your deposit at the end of the tenancy.
My property management manager has been away from the office and I could only look into this today.
We have reviewed the communication regarding this and while it is unfortunate that the cleaning company instructed had to return to carry out some further areas of cleaning missed on their initial visit, it does occasionally happen that even a company we recommend have to return from time to time. Unfortunately they could not carry out the cleaning of the curtains required and therefore we then needed to instruct another company to dry clean the curtains and net curtains in the property.
The price paid to the cleaning company you booked would not have included cleaning of the curtains and net curtains to the standard required after having two cats at the property. The company instructed to carry out the dry cleaning of curtains and net curtains are specialists at this and as such were instructed to carry the additional work out required to remove the dust and cat hair that remained on the curtains as shown within your check out report. As per the pet addendum signed at the start of the tenancy it requires for the property to be professionally cleaned throughout.
We apologise that we did not notify you in advance of the additional cleaning being carried out and this process has caused upset. However should you have been unhappy with any of the deductions requested from the deposit as per previous communication on this matter this could have been raised with the Deposit Protection Service ADR service. As no dispute was raised, the deposit return has now been finalised.
