I would never sell my property with The Stow Bros based solely on how they treat the Buyers.

Like so many reviewers have commented the method of viewing a property is the same tactic 15min slots, over-booked, no time to look at a property before another party arrives. Then on Monday they take offers and come back asking for BEST and FINALS, which is an awful tactic to induce panic and pressure.But as buyers you don’t get a choice which Agent you buy the property from.I would never sell my property with The Stow Bros based solely on how they treat the Buyers.Josh a sales handler kept himself so involved to the point of overstepping. In the beginning, he emailed me 34 times in the first month, I had to ask him to stop emailing me for my mental health and I asked him to instead email my husband anything that was needed. Josh ignored my request and continued to email me. He refused to let my husband view the property a 2nd time. He jumped over the vendor's solicitors a number of times. Our Solicitor even commented, “My first thought is why is this coming from the estate agent?” We were spending ¾ of a million on a property we would view it as many times as we liked. Stow Brows were rude and disrespectful and the process of buying a property is stressful and still Josh emailed me.He gets under a person’s ether, just like the hustler or scammer he is. He whispered to the Vendors and nearly caused the whole chain to fail a couple of times.I know the agents work for the Vendors but if the vendor knew how we were treated and how close we came to walking away solely on the ‘agents service’ I doubt they would be impressed.Writing at month 3 they refused to take down the advertisement for the property we were buying, and refused a 2nd and 3rd viewing. They said ‘No, its not in our interest to it sell a 2nd time’. 1 week away from completing we were GAZUMPED. Stow Bros are awful and now even if they have the best property for £1 I still would not use them. Stow Brows plagued us for paperwork and yet our solicitor was still waiting for things from the Seller's side, one form which could have been filled out by the freeholder BEFORE the property even went on the market. Why did the agents not let their vendor's solicitors do their job? We felt badgered.Only because we loved that property, not that we can remember it having only seen it once 3 months ago, were we still willing to put up with the Stow Bros. Turns out we lost the house anyway.Buyer beware, Sellers be very aware, you could be losing sales.

Dreadful for Tenants

Our experience of Stow Bros has been really disappointing. Prior to letting a property through them, we viewed and applied for various lettings only to receive no response (we were eventually told they receive a lot of applications so don't check them all).Having finally had an application accepted, we moved into a Property in relation to which we were told a number of improvements were being made by the Landlord prior to our moving-in, these improvements never happened and appeared to be something of a misrepresentation. We were then told some time after moving in that the Landlord wasn't paying them to manage the Property and so they were unable to help with the relatively large number of issues that we faced. Whilst this is perfectly understandable, it would have been nice to be informed of this prior to moving in. Throughout the tenancy we received communications and generic emails which showed the relevant agent(s) had little knowledge of how an AST works and/or just bumped us onto generic distribution lists.Following move out, Stow Bros have shown their colours by taking a very one-eyed, biased view to the move out Inventory (and issues which have plagued the Property from before we moved in).I'm sure Stow Bros are great if you are a Landlord, but I'd stay well away from Stow Bros properties as a prospective Tenant.

Me and my partner had been looking to rent for a couple of months and had viewed a lot of properties with Stow Brothers. Every encounter we had with a letting agent was pleasant, friendly and supportive which when renting in London, with all its competitive and outbidding was breath of fresh air. Me and my partner were actually hoping to secure a property with them - they were that lovely.We have been lucky to secure a property with them and in particular Imogen (letting progresser) is a credit to the company. She is attentive, communicative and so lovely. Being someone who is easily stressed, it was great to have her on side. I think I called her 3 times in one day! Even though I was selling through another estate agent, it was taking a bit longer than I would have liked.Will Turner was excellent. He came around to do a valuation and offered great tips on how to market my property better. He agreed to go multi-agency and tomatch the other agents' fees.Whilst the other agency sold before the Stow Brothers ads had chance to go live, it is with a huge heartfelt THANK YOU! to Will who was very experienced, knowledgeable, genuine and a credit to the industry. Definitely list with the Stow Brothers!! Their ads - photos and copy are of the highest calibre and they are extremely helpful and pro-active.

A lot better than the usual estate agent experience

I recently did a purchase through them, and it was a lot better than the usual experience you get with estate agents in the UK. Found it really helpful that they had specialist sales progressors (rather than the marketing person taking you through the buying process), since they are quite different skillsets. (And thanks to my sales progressor Poppy for being really helpful throughout!)

An absolutely pathetic estate agent! Started to sell my house with them. They got measurements incorrect, photos not professional and zero marketing. They lied about house viewings and viewers did not turn up. Gesture of goodwill, go and pick up a bottle of wine at offlicence 😂😂😂 Do yourself a favour do not do any business with this lot!!!

Terrible service with complete lack of care

We have had a truly terrible experience selling our house through Stow Brothers. The communication and service has been utterly appalling from start to finish. At the point of going on the market and offers being obtained following an open day, through to sales progression there have been a series of fundamental errors made in communication with us and within their internal team. This included failing to notify our buyer when we had secured a a purchase property ourselves, and passing on wrong information to our onward agent regarding our circumstances. This was bordering on negligent and particularly stressful as it very nearly resulted in us loosing our purchase property. There is clearly a huge issue with staffing capacity, and internal communication and process. We also experienced a complete lack of care toward us as customers. Due to this catalogue of errors we ultimately had to make the decision to withdraw from working with Stow Brothers and go on the market with a different agent. Despite other team members admitting the errors made throughout and the poor standard of service we had received, on calling to discuss our experience with the branch manager no responsibility was accepted, indeed during this conversation it was even suggested our account of our experience was not valid until she could ‘verify with other team members’. We would strongly advise anyone to reconsider selling their property through this agent. The difference in the level of service we have received with a different agent has been starkly obvious.
