This home was very authentically European. Coming from North America I loved the change in scenery. The home was close to the cruise ship port as well as main train station and bus hubs. restaurants and groceries were also in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK - particularly as women travelling alone. Rude and unhelpful company who do not care about the client in the least. Do not stay here!!!As frequent Airbnb clients, my daughter and I were disgusted by how we were treated by our hosts “Altido” apartments in central Milan. Vial de Bollo. We arrived at the property and checked in easily. We left our bags in the room and went to explore Milan for the day. When we returned in the evening (9:30pm) we accidentally dropped our keys into a grate in the street in front of the property. It was dark and we couldn’t reach them. We called the Altido number. which takes you through to a call center - not even based in Italy - with rude staff who told us there was nothing they could do as it was out of hours and it was our own fault. We were shocked - surely they must have an emergency procedure for when things like this happen? We were two women alone stranded at night in a country where we didn’t speak the language, without our passports (left inside) and with dying phone battery. We continued to call the company and explained how desperate we were but they refused to help us. We even asked at a nearby police station what we could do - where they explained that locksmiths were unlikely to be operating at night and advised us to stay in a different hotel. We had no choice but to pay out of pocket to stay in a hotel for the night. The next morning someone from Altido apartments only arrived with new keys at 11am - telling us how much of a problem we had caused for them. They would not accept our request for a one-night refund and Airbnb US and Airbnb Italy told us this was at the host's discretion. If we had stayed in any cheaper hotel, we would have had much better service and would not have been stranded in the middle of the night and told off for accidentally losing our keys. If everything goes well you should be OK - but God help you if you have any type of accident or anything goes wrong in the apartment. Take it from us - you are on your own!

ALTIDO Lovely flat with balcony and sea viewI am a landlady and I will write this report with the objective of preventing another person for going through the neglect and disrespect I was subjected to by staying at this property under the management of ALTIDO On Sunday morning at 8.15am I took my dog out and left the key on the side table. I had 1% left on my phone, Immediately I texted the property manager ALTIDO of the situation and asked to please send somebody with the backup key. By 10.30am nobody had showed and now I was desperate to charge my phone and get some help, I walked around the building looking for anybody to help. When I came back my $225 Helly Hansen jacket was stolen from where I was sitting, About 30 minutes later I was approached by a guy smelling of alcohol he was carrying my jacket and said he could help me.Apparently himself and his 2 friends were watching me from a balcony as they drank alcohol and playing loud music. He asked me to go to his apartment, but rather than get into a dispute I told him somebody was coming.At 1.20pm a locksmith showed up 4 1/2 hours after I texted ALTIDO. He informed me they could not find the backup key and he was told as it was “ my fault” I was locked out it was my responsibility to pay him the 125 euro fee, he would only accepted cash. I say this to the property management ALTIDO and the property owner. It may have been “my fault” I was locked out but it is your responsibility to have a backup system in place. You have if not a legal, a moral obligation to people staying at your property. Would you have treated a woman with a child or an elderly couple the same way and left them outside for 4.5 hours with no phone, no money totally alone in a neighborhood they don’t know and, in my case, a language I didn’t speak. You should have a backup key in place this is standard operating procedure for everyday emergencies that are inevitable. You simply took the easiest route for yourself with absolutely no regard for me and left me outside for 4.1/2. I think the way this situation was handled is an absolute disgrace and a true representation of your property managers priorities.
