John D Wood owns APW, a lettings management company. Having raised a complaint against APW, I was, after a ridiculous amount of badgering, passed to John D Wood. Despite terrible reviews of APW already in place and after providing (several times) a list of 14 significant issues, I was informed they had done nothing wrong. Well, if the service (or lack thereof) I received was ‘fine’, goodness knows what this company thinks is poor service. Absolutely dreadful experience. I share another reviewer's frustration when they said they'd rather give their house away than use these guys again. Truly awful. Please don't use them.

Unprofessional, non-responsive and DO NOT return deposits timely I had a problem slumlord with endless defects in the flat at 4100 a month. Landlord used JDW chelsea/earls court to manage the property. The pod never responded to email to fix anything. After 6 months we agreed to leave and pay less rent. The kid and his colleagues delayed releasing £4700 deposit for 18 days after moving out using any and all excuses until I threatened to file a dispute! Buyer be ware.

She found us 3 potential tenants within the first week! She was quick to respond to enquiries, understood what we were looking for and provided us with helpful advice on how to select the right tenants. GoogleI can't give a -0 for this agency and most unprofessional staff. First I saw their post in rightmove, I call them and Ms Hollie Stanley give me an answer "Hi" no introduction no communication just a Hi. After I told her we let a viewing day. The Day and time came. I was around the area . I couldn't finde the building after 30 min I called the agency cause dhe didn't answer even call me where are you or im waiting for you. After 1h coming around she finally call me without any explanation nothing. We make it and finde the correct adress after she couldn't open the door OMG another 15 min. Afteeeer we did the offer and she didn't reply for 3 days. when I send her email that what is hapening without shame she tells me we have accept another offer. So i was wasting my time since the beginning with this agency girl and whatever's. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMENDED.

GoogleFlat I'm renting via JDW got flooded after heavy rains nearly two years ago, due to a crack in outer elevation - which I repaired out of my own pocket and then had to chase JDW for months for a refund. I was promised damages will get repaired. A year later JDW sent out somebody to get a quote. Radio silence since. Agent who showed us the flat was really nice, but if the flat is managed by JDW - RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK.

Terrible, terrible, terrible.John D Wood Richmond Branch is a nightmare. They are trying to charge for the damages which they were before the tenancy started. Although the first inspection report clearly proves that the damages were there before we enter the house, they still keep trying to charge it.For your sake, I strongly recommend you avoid them.

While it may work for some, I found the approach and behaviour of the Wandsworth JDW sales team truly abhorrent. Their wrongdoings range from the way they spoke to my husband and I right through to their sales and negotiation tactics. They frequently made (incorrect) assumptions and comments about our lifestyle and finances and throughout the purchase tried to belittle and patronise us so we followed their instructions rather than listened to our solicitor. They nothing short of used intimidation tactics and baseless threats to make us jump for their every wish. They lied in the details of selling the house, both in writing and verbally; accepted offers but broke the terms of the offers with no communication or regard that this was incorrect behaviour; and when we were finally at the end of negotiations and all paperwork ready to exchange and complete, they started upon new tales and demands trying to threaten the chain breaking if we did not comply. We’ve fed back directly to the agents involved and while sales behaviours are a common part of society, we both felt this was way over the line of acceptable behaviour. In this area of London, with this amount of money being spent in such a lovely community and neighbourhood, my husband and I were truly appalled by their style and have never come across other agents like it. We won’t be using them in the future and sadly, even if it is just this branch, our trust in the whole JDW organisation has been tainted by this truly stressful and frankly bullying experience. I can only hope our feedback is considered and agents reflect upon their handling so they do not continue to treat people this way.

As a landlord, I cannot recommend this agency. They have high staff turnover, are extremely disorganized, blatantly mis-inform, and oversee shoddy maintenance. The experience from the POV of the tenant seems to be just as poor. The sales team blatantly over-promises, then the landlord is left trying to understand why they are on the hook for things they explicitly did not agree to. Really a horrible experience all around.

GoogleChris Mizen at John D Wood provided us with an excellent service in the purchase of our new home. During viewings he was knowledgable while very ‘low pressure’ and gave us time to explore the property without hovering like many agents. During the negotiation and completion he remained extremely attentive and helpful without at any time adding any undue stress or pressure to the process. I would definitely use him again.

GoogleI strongly don't recommend John D Wood & Co. Estate Agents Southfields. When they receive payment they are always so over-demanding but when they need to pay for you, their process are too slow. I don't believe that they protect the rights of the tenants.
