RUN AWAY FROM THEM!I have lived in many flats in London and never have I experienced such a terrible process. First of all, we wrote down a formal offer with 1 only requirement. After our offer was accepted and we payed one week worth of rent to secure the place, they tell us that specific requirement cannot be met. They took almost 3 weeks to make the landlord sign our contract, and it was voided TWICE so we had to re-sign the contract 3 times in total as they kept adding clauses to it. During the move in, we realise the flat had not been cleaned (and the contract stated everything had to be professionally cleaned, even curtains and sofas.....) but the flat was in an appalling state really. We asked for it to be cleaned again and we are still waiting..... Not to say that we are still waiting for the landlord to pay the inventory. The people in this agency are very rude and will treat you bad. One advice, never use this agency!!!

I have had really good customer service from the team at John D Wood, especially Sardar and Camilla. Sardar swiftly arranged a viewing for me and he and Camilla were fantastic pushing things through so I could have a move in date within a week. As a tenant who has had John D Wood as my lettings management for the last 6 years I can say that they are absolutely awful. They don't reply to emails, don't take responsibility, don't put out of office emails on so you can't get anything urgent done. I would never use them.

GoogleWe recently rented a property through John D Wood. Our viewing and subsequent tenancy were managed by Imogen - who was brilliant! The process was very easy from start to finish, much easier than previous experiences we have had with rental agents. Imogen supported us through our offer, providing advice and updates at regular intervals which we really appreciated given the current uncertainty created by the pandemic. Would definitely recommend John D Wood to other tenants.

GoogleJohn D Wood in Wandsworth, and more specifically Shae Preece and James Setright, epitomise the worst traits of estate agents. Dishonest, unprofessional and incompetent. They incited panic in the chain unnecessarily, they downright lied on many occasions, they pestered all sides incessantly which led to numerous complaints, and when it suited them ignored all communication. Despite having no qualifications, they believed they were experts in surveying, conveyancing law and mortgages and unbelievably tried to undermine experts in these fields. They will do their best to ruin any house sale or purchase. Avoid John D Wood at all costs.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value

John D Wood owns APW, a lettings management company. Having raised a complaint against APW, I was, after a ridiculous amount of badgering, passed to John D Wood. Despite terrible reviews of APW already in place and after providing (several times) a list of 14 significant issues, I was informed they had done nothing wrong. Well, if the service (or lack thereof) I received was ‘fine’, goodness knows what this company thinks is poor service. Absolutely dreadful experience. I share another reviewer's frustration when they said they'd rather give their house away than use these guys again. Truly awful. Please don't use them.

I phoned Chris and within 24 hours we'd had an offer accepted on a place we love. He couldn't have been more helpful and let us see the place before it even went on the market, which was a huge bonus - would thoroughly recommend.

Unprofessional, non-responsive and DO NOT return deposits timely I had a problem slumlord with endless defects in the flat at 4100 a month. Landlord used JDW chelsea/earls court to manage the property. The pod never responded to email to fix anything. After 6 months we agreed to leave and pay less rent. The kid and his colleagues delayed releasing £4700 deposit for 18 days after moving out using any and all excuses until I threatened to file a dispute! Buyer be ware.

Terrible, terrible, terrible.John D Wood Richmond Branch is a nightmare. They are trying to charge for the damages which they were before the tenancy started. Although the first inspection report clearly proves that the damages were there before we enter the house, they still keep trying to charge it.For your sake, I strongly recommend you avoid them.

My overall experience with the John D Wood team was excellent! I have dealt with Millie Finch and Kate Smith and they were both super helpful and nice! What I really appreciated it was the quick responsiveness on their side every time I had a question/query. I would gladly work with them in the future!
