In a tricky sale environment, Hunters found me a buyer in less than a week, and kept the pot boiling throughout a rather lengthy sale process (mainly as a result of Lambeth Council's labyrinthine administrative processes), and my particular thanks to Catherine Roberts, who was on the case throughout and safely saw the sale over the line by nudging whichever party was dragging their feet at any particular moment (I like to think it wasn't me, but then I would, wouldn't I?).

I had a really positive experience selling my flat with Hunters, Camberwell. There were lots of agents courting me but it was an easy decision once i met Brett and he explained his ideas for how we would market the flat and how his team prepare the photos and the online strategy. No other agent came with a strategy that felt bespoked to my flat and how they would go about selling. I had multiple offers from potential buyers and it sold in the first week! Brett handed over (as planned) to his colleague Alex who would be my sales agent. He was brilliant and very welcoming with potential buyers. He listened and took on board all the things i loved about my flat and he was great at liaising with the potential buyers and managing their interest. He worked around all the covid restrictions and made everyone (inc me) feel really welcome and safe (when they visited). I have never sold a property before but Alex walked me through the whole thing. Hunters worked as a team, and on the very rare occasion (once!) that Alex had a day off Brett or some else knowledgeably stepped in and was able to help. It really was a pleasure. It all happened much faster than i thought it would too (even with the mad stamp duty rush!) Alex kept in regular contact with the solicitors and always knew what was happening for either side of the sale. Yes, it was more than an online agent but having a local knowledgeable sales team that know my area and know the ins and outs of Lambeth made things run smoothly. We purchased our first home last month through Hunters and Alex Alfred was absolutely brilliant. He was very professional and communicative throughout the whole process, despite us not being technically his clients (he represented the seller). Buying a flat during a pandemic is a stressful experience but Alex made the process a lot smoother, keeping in touch regularly and finding creative ways of resolving issues that emerged with lawyers and the council. Awful. Incredibly disorganised. Would establish inspections and never turn up, would constantly email about overdue rent that wasn't overdue. Would pass the blame constantly. Attempted to raise my rent by a "reasonable" £200 a month six months into my tenancy which can only happen every 12 months and cannot be more than the CPI price index; they failed on both counts. Renting is honestly awful, and these clowns pray upon the anxiety of insecurity to get what they want.I have bought a house now, I wish all renters the luck to buy their own homes one day so we never have to deal with letting agents like these ever again.

NOT FaMILY FRIENDLY - They work with landlords who discriminate against families. just had the most unbelievable discussion with an incredibly rude person here who literally had a go at my wife and I when we enquired about a property. We told them we had kids and we were told that “The landlord doesn’t want kids. I work for the landlord not for you and it’s not up to you to like it or not” Such incredible rudeness and prejudice. Stay away from this place.

Sales progression team lied and not very professional.

We are in the process of buying a bungalow at the moment and the sales progression team told us the vendor had been to sort the electrics and service the boiler..previous tennants had apparently got in debt so electric was cut off..Hunters lied saying this would be sorted. A second viewing 2 weeks later and a wasted 120 mile journey confirmed nothing had been sorted. When we told them we were disappointed with them we were told to leave the property.

I would completely recommend avoiding…

I would completely recommend avoiding this agency, they are slow to respond, have no information ready at hand and this has possibly been the most annoying process of purchasing a property with them. There was a lot of missing information that I was not provided and they basically only know how to respond when they need something. You will call them and they say they'll get back to you and just disappear. Avoid if possible.

Hunters hung a "for sale" sign on our property, which was a surprise to us, since we were neither selling nor letting the property. When asked to take it down, four visible holes have been left in the wall of our home. It has been six and a half weeks, and the holes are still there. In a couple of weeks, we're going to need to escalate this to the ombudsman.
