GoogleHave recently bought a flat through Hastings International and was fortunate enough to deal with Lee McDermott. He was very professional, helpful, informative and personable. He never rushed us during the viewings and was not overbearing and obnoxious as unfortunately some agents I have come across can be. Really appreciated all his help and would work with Lee again. GoogleNever rent with Hastings, i have never seen anything this unprofessional before. My flat had a broken bathroom that they did not fix for approximately 6 months despite us emailing and messaging them every week, sometimes more than once a week. We had a clogged sink which was clogged since we moved in - they ignored our complaints for over 6 months, tried to blame it on us and eventually had to bring professional tools ybecause a plumber alone said it was impossible to fix. This took over 9 months, they fixed it almost before we left the flat. They are trying to rip us off our deposit now and have tried to blame is for 90% of problems that were either already there, don’t exist or cost 10£ and they are charging them 100£. I would never even think of renting with them, awful experience as a tenant - extremely disrespectful agents too.

Rented an apartment with Hastings and the process went smoothly. There was a leaking problem in the apartment and they sent someone to fix it the next day after I report it. When I was trying to renew my tenancy, Key was very helpful and responded promptly. Highly recommend!

Took a very proactive approach at all stages of the process making sure the lawyers were doing their jobs as well and as quickly as they should be. Hastings were not great throughout the year I was renting a flat from them. I left the flat in perfect condition, but they tried to take much of my deposit off me. One of the things they claimed was that I had stained the mattress, but I had used a mattress topper (as the mattress was so uncomfortable) and a mattress protector throughout my whole tenancy. The front door lock was also getting stiff towards the end which they said I had broken… likely just needed some WD40. Another issue I had was that they did not communicate anything the building management had communicated to them. My bike got stolen from the secure bike storage inside the flat building as a gang had broken in using crowbars and angle grinders. The building management said they had sent out warnings to landlords and letting agencies to inform tenants, however I was not told. My bike was stolen when I could have kept it inside the flat safe instead. At the end of the tenancy, Hastings were rude and abrupt and seemed to favour the landlord over the tenant. It is up to the landlord to prove beyond reasonable doubt that damage was caused. They also take FOREVER to respond to any queries and you have to chase them up multiple times to get a response. I would avoid renting through Hastings in the future.
