A really decent agent you can trust! Highly recommend.

We have just completed a purchase with Debola after an 8 month search in the area. We were fortunate to register with Gordon & Co some months back and met Debola then to view a property, which didn't quite suit our needs at the time. During our search we had awful experiences with other agencies - high pressure, offers only to be put forward if a mortgage was taken through their broker etc. We had none of that from Gordon & Co.. Debola never forgot we were still searching and sent us selected details of one or two properties he knew we would like, based on our criteria from our original meeting. We weren't bombarded with the usual mass emails from other agents. Then bingo, a match came in and Debola was straight in touch. It was exactly what we wanted and we have now completed. Although I can't vouch fully for Gordon & Co, I can for this agent!. Debola was so professional and respectful during viewings. He was on time, covered every question we had in the back of our minds and most importantly we found him to be totally honest. There was no high pressure sales pitch, He simply understood our needs and we had open communications that helped us find our ideal home. During the conveyancing he was at the end of the phone or email, always responsive, chasing all the parties to get the deal done. I can hand on heart recommend this guy. If you are buying do get in touch.. Very happy buyers here. I hope this review helps you.

Helpful, understanding and attentive.

I have worked in property for a number of years and have found that generally, agents leave much to be desired in terms of service and professionalism. Debola has been star in an otherwise murky sky, helping me with my property search like no other agent I have worked with. He listens, understands requirements and goes the extra mile to find the right property. He has pulled a number of strings for me and has made sure the process has been effortless. I’ve consistently been surprised by the amount of work and prep he has put in and have enjoyed working with him thus far. It’s not often that you can recommended an agent, however I have no reservations in doing so with Debola.

Great help in search and negotiations (for rental flat): I dealt with the lettings team which helped me secure a flat in January 2021. Gordon & Co. was very good in listening to my requirements over my search helping me find the right home. I have to note one of the employees, Rahan Malik, who was very responsive and conducted all the needed viewings. Afterwards he also acted as a negotiating agent that helped me secure the flat I was looking for a fair price in the area.

One note I would make about One The Elephant building is that there tends to be a strong wind that results in noises that might disturb certain people. Worth checking when visiting a flat. However this is not the agency's fault. They have been wonderful.

Gordon & Co was very responsive and helpful throughout the process of finding and renting a place. However, at check-out me and my partner experienced extra charges and hidden fees (~£340 in total) and the overall process of getting some of our deposit back took two months. The charges we received included deductions for items that were broken before we moved in, an additional bill for heating and hot water (even if we paid our bills separately to our utility companies) and an extra fee for additional cleaning since the steam clean we organised "was not sufficient". Review your check-in report meticulously, report any errors and take pictures of everything - this way you are ready to dispute the expected extra charges at check-out.

I would avoid this letting and also avoid moving into the Strava block! First off the building has a large amount of fundamental problems; the wind whistles incredibly loud, the flat can become unbearably hot (once during the summer the flat temperature gauge read 33 degrees at midnight!), the fresh air ducts are connected between flats so you'll smell your naughbours cooking! For half of the tenancy one of the elevators was broken, and a couple of times both were broken! imagine walking up 30 flights of stairs. Sometimes the longest part of my commute into central was actually getting out the building when the elevators were at rush hour. As for the letting, they did the least of a letting and maintenance service I've experienced so far! We moved into a flat with broken oven light and a few ceiling lights out, even after multiple emails they never replace them in the whole tenancy. A florescent tube broke in the bathroom, we bought a replacement but didn't work, we asked repeatably for maintenance to come have a look but nothing was done! Expect to send them multiply emails for things to get done! As for leaving the flat, that's when they showed their true colours. Lets just say 2 light bulbs had gone out on the ceiling and i was charged £100 to replace (£10 for the 2 bulbs plus £90 labour) ... and no that's not an exaggeration! Hope this helps you decide on your next move! best of luck if you go with them! Brace yourself for the end of tenancy bill, unless you're a fan of jump scares in horror movies
