I had the pleasure of dealing with Annabel D'Souza for my rental search. Although, in the end I found a property through another agent, Annabel was fantastically helpful. She had a very in depth knowledge of all my desired locations and a really good understanding of my criteria, only showing me properties that genuinely fit my requirements. It’s a shame that you can’t give minus star reviews. I strongly recommend that you do not rent from Foxtons. Our experience with the Chiswick branch was awful. Firstly we were “sold the house” by Harriet guaranteeing that it would be in “show home condition”. When we moved in in January 2021 we were aghast at the condition of the place, so much so that we took the keys straight back to their offices and said that we wanted to cancel and threatened legal action if they refused. Iain, to his credit tried to remedy the situation though he didn’t think that any of the problems should prevent us moving in namely: The boiler leaked and we had no heating or hot water. The oven didn’t work. The house was filthy, it had not been cleaned properly. The sofa looked like it had been taken off a skip. Both mattresses were urine and blood stained. The walls are carpets were covered with marks and stains. The curtains had tears and stains…..the list went on….but Jonathan at Foxtons thought the house was in good enough condition to live in and that we had unrealistic expectations about what an 8 year old rental should be like (bearing in mind, dear reader, that we were paying £2595.00 per month!!). It took a full month to get the house fit to live in but they weren’t able to remove the stains on the sofa, carpets and curtains. We replaced the mattresses at no cost to the landlord. We finally moved in in February but had to pay the rent for January even though we weren’t in but regularly went backwards and forwards letting cleaners, painters and engineers in and out without any word of thanks from Foxtons. At the end of the term they wanted £1235.00 for damage caused to (yes you’ve guessed it) the sofa, walls, carpets and curtains as well as other historical damage caused by previous tenants. If you are foolish enough to rent from them make sure you take plenty of photos of everything because they will try and stitch you up when you leave.

We recently sold a one-bedroom flat in Chiswick through Foxtons, and we had the pleasure of working with Zoe Ward and Adam O’Leary. They both demonstrated exceptional professionalism, especially when it came to managing not only the transaction but also the interactions with the buyer and their lawyer, which were critical to keeping the deal on track. The process was made needlessly challenging due to a nervous first time buyer and inexperienced conveyancer (e.g. enquiries about the ownership structure of the flat should be established at the outset not 5 minutes before exchange!). Zoe and Adam navigated these many trials with great patience and their proactive approach and commitment ensured the transaction moved forward despite these challenges. I have been involved in various real estate transactions over the last few years and this deal really highlighted that, whilst finding a buyer is obviously essential, it is transaction management that gets the deal over the line. Zoe and Adam excelled in this, and without their dedication I feel the sale would not have competed. I cannot recommend Adam and Zoe highly enough!

Very disappointing experience with Foxtons. We arranged a viewing for a property, but despite telling the agent that we were available earlier in the week, we were only offered a viewing later. On the morning of the scheduled viewing we were informed that an offer had already been accepted. When I asked when the other viewers had seen the property, I was told it had been shown earlier in the week. It is very frustrating that we were not given the same opportunity to view it earlier, especially when we clearly expressed interest and availability. After that, the agent told us she would come back to us once she confirmed whether the applicants had actually secured the property. However, she then stopped responding to messages and calls altogether. When I followed up again, I received no response, which felt very unprofessional. Previously we also spent several hours viewing properties that were completely outside the areas and criteria we had discussed. Overall the experience felt very disorganised and unhelpful. Unfortunately this has made us lose confidence in Foxtons as an agency.

Earlier today, I spoke with a member of your team regarding availability. I explained that I would need to briefly confirm details with my husband before proceeding, and I was assured this would be absolutely fine. However, when I called back approximately five minutes later, the receptionist I spoke with informed me - in a manner I found somewhat condescending - that I had not had a call with Foxtons. I was not given the opportunity to clarify the situation, which made the experience unnecessarily frustrating and confusing. As reception is often the first point of contact for potential clients, professionalism and courteous communication are especially important. I would encourage consideration of additional customer service training, as a more constructive and respectful approach would significantly improve the client experience.

A bit overdue leaving this review, but last summer was an incredibly competitive time to find a place to rent within a reasonable budget and to the specs that we were hoping for. I was dealing with about five different estate agents and found that there was no help in introducing me to properties, many times I didn't get a call back for requested viewings. Only Foxtons proactively sent me properties that were clearly with consideration to my budget and ideal specs. I really appreciated this tailored approach considering there is always more people looking for places than are available! A special thank you to Narean who found us our lovely flat and was really kind and considerate to our needs and was really patient throughout the whole process of getting contracts signed. He was really lovely!

I rented with Foxtons Chiswick, so you don’t have to. Throughout the tenancy the agency is keeping low, only coming out when they need to collect sizable sums of money for sticking a new date on your contract. But as soon as you give your notice all hell breaks loose. Expect to be treated as part of the property’s furniture at best. The viewings for new tenants are booked with notices starting from 10 minutes and most of the time the notice is sent via email just stating the fact that they will come with their own keys. If you haven’t seen the email, it’s your problem. They book 1 or even 2 hour slots any time apart, so if you are around (or want to be), you will be waiting for a while, as they sometimes don’t even hit those slots and are late without warning or apology, or sending a cancellation email way after the time slot has passed. On one occasion the agent was so out there, she didn’t even bother checking if anyone is at the property and proceeded to open the door with her own keys not even trying to ring a bell. Don’t forget that all that joyful experience is included in your monthly rent, which in our case was over £2200. So for that money you basically don’t own your place for the notice period (2 months for us) of your tenancy. After 1 month of this mess with sometimes 3 viewings per day we had to move out as it was impossible to be there with constant stream of people coming through whenever they please. Polite requests to give more notice and turn up on time didn’t have any effect and when we finally turned down a viewing request that was given just 2 hours in advance the agency phoned our landlord to whine about the fact that we are not giving them access to the property. And it was probably one of the 3 viewings we ever cancelled (out of 20 maybe). We dealt with at least 6 or 7 different agents and only 2 of them were actually acknowledging the fact that people still live at the place. Others were treating it as an open house. I hope the remaining good agents find a better place to work for themselves not be associated with this bag of snakes.
