Avoid at all costs. We recently tried to purchase a property, were thrilled to have our asking-price offer accepted, were given a ten day exclusivity period to do everything the seller asked (which we did), and then were gazumped by another buyer - a dishonest and unethical practice used to drive up prices (despite given explicit assurances from both the agent and the vendor when our offer was accepted that this exact scenario would not occur with them). We lost thousands of pounds in non-refundable solicitors, survey, search and mortgage fees, have suddenly been left without a property to move into, and have had to cancel our own sale as a result (not only causing us to lose yet more fees, but reluctantly inflict similar distress on our buyers). This would not have happened with our real estate agents (who make absolutely clear from the outset that they do not, under any circumstances, tolerate gazumping from their vendors or prospective buyers). The response from the agent was simply ‘that’s the way it goes’.

Booked in two viewings a 100m or so away from each other. Saw one property before being driven 20mins away to an area we had no interest in viewing. The estate agent was only occasionally looking at the road and not her phone, drove through several red lights. Would never get in another car with someone from Foxtons again, and reccommend no one do so for safety. We apparently ran out of time so never saw the second property 100m away.

With Foxton’s I found just that. William Cooke and Ed Boden took on my property late last year with a very clear brief, and delivered on my high expectations. The property sold at a price as estimated, and William kept me up-to-speed with regular communication and efficiently managed the whole process. William and Ed also recommended solicitors for the sale, who were exceptional, and their familiarity with each other’s organisation helped to get through the legal T&Cs without fuss. After the initial few properties not meeting my requirements, he was quick to get back in touch with a relevant place. Although it was above my budget he recommended that I come and see it to make an offer, this worked out very well. I feel the way Josh dealt with me as a potential tenant was outstanding, he is a true asset to your company and reflects your core values strongly. After being on the market for more than a year with another agency, you had us an acceptable offer within a week and assisted us so much during the contract process. You kept us up to date when we were unable to get through to the Solicitors and ensured that the buyer was re-assured that everything was ok. Unfortunately the Solicitors we chose we very difficult to work with and you ensured the buyer didn't pull out of the sale. We regret not going with one of the Solicitors you recommended.
