Probably the smoothest rent agreement I've had in London. Jamal knew a lot about the property and responded quickly whenever I had questions or needed anything. Our contract was non-standard, but Jamal was very flexible in helping us negotiate a contract that suited us and it was agreed without any hassle. Other letting agents I've used in the past have been more difficult about non-12 month leases. He was also particularly helpful in letting us arrange wifi engineers to sort out the wifi before we moved in and scheduling inventory checks to suit us. Generally speaking, the agents are able to find properties to suit particular needs provided you are not looking a shared accommodation with separate tenancies. The benefits do not outweigh the drawbacks. Some of the agents (including Jamal, who is spoken of so highly in these reviews) exploit students and prey upon their lack of knowledge regarding the rental market and subsequent tenancy. Jamal hides behind a “no nonsense approach” in order to further his own commission and has shown to lack accountability when clerical errors in tenancy agreements are made. Failed to inform us of additional charges, been waiting at least 2.5 weeks to receive deposit back, despite having chased up on multiple occasions. Foxtons are probably the most pompous, money hungry agency I’ve ever dealt with.

We met Jamal randomly during our viewing. He is a super kind and accommodating agent getting us through every step of our new move in. Jamal was/is an amazing estate agent. He goes above and beyond working around your schedule, is very responsive and communicates directly. He manages expectations and is honest. I had a few issues regarding COVID 19 and furlough and he was able to ensure the process remained smooth sailing, and found alternatives for everything. He also takes into account how busy life can be and knows when to give you time, and when to chase you. I got in contact with Jamal because of a property I was interested in viewing with Foxtons. I'd only recently arrived to London from overseas, and so was fairly new to neighbours of the city and the general renting market. Jamal was kind enough to not only show me the places I was interested in, but also a number of other apartments in the areas I was looking. He took particular care to understand my requirements and curate a small set of potential options that would suit my needs. We spent a couple days driving around different parts of London, in total viewing 10-12 flats over various price ranges. By the time I found a great match, Jamal had generously given me 12+ hours of his own time, completely without obligation. Ultimately, I ended up going with a place I found independently, but to the very end Jamal was both willing and committed to helping me find the right place. I think this speaks volumes of his professionalism and sincerity as a person. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to Jamal (and thereby Foxtons) again in case I ever need to look for a new apartment. Regardless of outcome, Jamal's service and support was stellar throughout the entire process and I want to thank him for his extensive time and effort.

Excellent service by Jamal at the Camden Branch has brought me circa 15% incremental rent. No landlord can ask for more in this current climate. The arrangement fees of Foxtons is higher than the fee offered by other agents in the area, but the higher rent that Jamal achieved has paid for the fees and still let a bit more. Thank you Jamal.

Why not go to see Foxton for any enquiry for your dream home. I got an impression that they are always aggressive and only interested in profit, but Foxton changed my view after I had met Had Anwar in Camden branch, who was very polite, and never have been aggressive but so friendly throughout the presses. I did not buy a property via Foxton in the end but I appreciate his efforts and never to be arrogant and his sincere hard work. We've rented a house 2 months in advance, we paid a whole month of deposit even though we should just pay a week. After that when we should get the keys and pay the rent, they stopped to answer us, I've try contact them unsuccessfully many times during the day, even their central tried call, but no answer at all. Went there personally, and a lot of bulshit around, they said us that the tenants didn't leave the flat, this after 2 days calling them, messaging them, but not answer at all, so just going there personally to get this answer. Still struggling to get my money back, even though I've paid it more than legally (a whole month of rent to hold the house), 2 months ago, and they said its not their fault, all contracts signed and I have to chase all of them to get answer that they don't care at all. I've emailed the central customer service, someone would be in touch, but still waiting more than 3 days for that. I'll might end up on the court. They're good just to book everyone in the same time for the view, to get your money, after that good luck to get any answer from them. Such rubbish service from a huge company like that.
