Don't use Dexters.

Let out a property - fully managed service with Dexters between Aug 2021-Aug 2023 Management fees 18% They did nothing. 0. The tenants sub let the property -Dexters did not check, intervene, even though emails and phone calls, they confirmed they suspected.The tenants left the property damaged, items missing. Dexters took over 2 months to process the deposit return, and I still have not seen any money from the held deposit.Utterly useless. Take ages to respond, by phone or email.

My experience as a small landlord

Dexters have taken over from my previous Management Company and so far the change over has gone smoothly with no disruption to the service.I had a new tenant recently in one property and there has been a number of issues that have needed dealing with. They have kept me informed and are always easily contactable for advice and clarifying any issues that have arisen. Excellent service from Dexters property management team

Just wanted to give a mention to Idris (property manager) who is always so polite and a pleasure to deal with. Any time an issue arises he responds quickly and is excellent at keeping you updated. He is a breath of air. Also, want to mention Alton, who rearranged his diary to fit in a visit yesterday and fix a lock, and also very helpfully looked at a number of issues we have with our windows. Also, a very pleasant person to deal with and an extra star for covering his shoes when he came into the property!

Time wasters - just another misleading estate agent

Classic misleading estate agent practice of advertising properties on zoopla/rightmove that were SSTC days/weeks ago, calling you back for your details, repeatedly pressuring you to speak with their own mortgage advisors, only to finally mention the property is no longer available. Time wasters.Edit in regarding response from Dexters: seemingly no attempt to contact me has been made (not that I wish for any), and the property is yet still showing as for sale, only serving to support my above review comments.

Never rent a property with Dexters in my life!

It was our first time to rent an apartment with Dexters in West London from 2022 - 2023. We never imagine every single aspect of the rental process could possibly go wrong and eventually needed to escalate the matter to external authority about our unfair and unprofessional treatment. Just to name a few, • Check-in: Apartment door keys' malfunction for 2+ weeks which eventually led to door lock change after Dexters' brute force attempt to open the door.• Tenancy renewal: No proper and timely communication on the rental arrangement near the end of fixed term, with drastic change within 1 month from rental renewal with contract signed to rental termination.• Notice served: No proper delivery of notice served until we asked for clarification upon receiving deposit release request.• Check-out: No communication on when/ how/ how much deposit release would be processed for 2+ weeks after check-out. 3+ chasers were sent and eventually escalated to TDS for resolution.• Complaint: Went through the complete internal complaint process but response from Dexters’ senior management did not seem to be apologetic to our horrific rental experience with various excuses provided.If you do not want to experience the same dreadful rental process as us, Please do avoid Dexters.

As a landlord- Avoid

As a landlord, it has been a horrible experience. In return for charging a 13% commission- tenants get to not pay rent, steal white goods from the property, inspection reports are not done and there is a general lack of care or responsiveness. We were told we need to: chase the tenant, lodge a police report, go to small claims…. All on the landlord. Dexters had arranged a floor to be replaced in the previous tenancy, work was dodgy and then we were asked to pay for the cost to replace again… I asked dexters to chase up with their appointed contractor….. nope - it was up to us to go to our insurer? Or pay again. Avoid.
