GoogleRuby was really helpful with our move to London! We hit a couple of obstacles along the way, especially when our prospective landlord pulled out last minute - but throughout quite a stressful process, Ruby kept working hard for us and managed set us up in a great house! She always kept us in the loop and was quick at responding to our questions - thank you Ruby!

GoogleAwful. Don't be fooled by the obvious fake reviews (hint...those reviewers with 5 star reviews and only 1 review). Dexters Clapham are the absolute worst estate agent I've ever dealt with. Getting in touch with these people is impossible; they also love to try and see what illegal practices they can get away with, such as ignoring my attempts to get my deposit back. Also lived with broken furniture for months because these clowns refused to replace it. If you can, AVOID.

GoogleScams, terrible service, and incredibly rude agents . Avoid at all costs. In the words of someone else “I’ve never dealt with an estate agent anywhere near as incompetent”. Took 2.5 months (and counting!) for a simple replacement of a person on a tenancy. Avoidable hold ups at every stage, especially in background letting checks. Charge £300 for changing tenants when the tenant fees act 2019 caps this at £50 unless there are exceptional costs. Gets round this by nominally applying to landlords, who ask tenants to cover costs who expect these to be reasonable, and then claim that these are the costs and tenants have no recourse. Neat trick actually. Watch out- and just go through another estate agent if you can!

GoogleI don't normally write reviews but I feel compelled to in this instance. I recently rented with Dexters Clapham High Street and needed to end the tenancy early as I was in the process of buying a property. After I obtained consent for this from the landlord directly, Dexters tried to charge me various fees; a number of which were completely unfounded (for example, costs which the incoming tenant would be required to pay in any case - i.e. double charging). The total figure they initially tried to charge me was ultimately halved after I attempted to query the various costs. Subsequently after the landlord confirmed to both me and Dexters that they did not wish to withhold any sums from my deposit, Dexters took over a month to return the funds, following numerous chasers and attempts to tell me that they were not responsible and would not handle it's return - which they were and did after being pressed. They resist dealing over email, it seems for not wanting to leave a paper trail. The landlord decided to also end his relationship with them at the end of my tenancy on the basis of how they had behaved. I won't deal with Dexters, in particular this branch, again and I suggest people don't either. Ps. If they attempt tell you that leaving the tenancy early won't incur any charges (other than minor admin fees) - don't believe them!
