My friends and I have just had our offer accepted on a house through Dexters- we just wanted to thank Tilly as she has been fantastic! Tilly was so helpful throughout the whole process- the house we originally enquired for was unavailable but she quickly sent over alternative options that matched our criteria and was super responsive, answering any questions I had and getting me in to view the property as quickly as possible! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better estate agent than James Nicholas. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience to help future tenants. If you happen to be assigned to this particular agent, I would strongly recommend keeping a close eye on everything and following up on every promise in writing. Before we signed the tenancy agreement, we were assured that several issues in the property would be repaired before we moved in. Unfortunately, when we arrived, none of those promised repairs had been completed. On top of that, the property hadn’t even been cleaned for our move-in. Communication was another major issue. Emails often went unanswered, responses were extremely slow, and on our move-in day, when we tried to contact the agent about the condition of the property, our calls weren’t answered and the agent had already left for the day without any update. What was most disappointing was that communication seemed to happen only when it was convenient or necessary for the agent. Once the contract had been signed, it genuinely felt as though there was little interest in making sure the promised work had actually been carried out or that the tenancy started smoothly. In the end, we had to contact the landlord directly to resolve almost everything ourselves, as the agent played virtually no role in helping us after the tenancy began. This was just our experience, but if this agent is handling your tenancy, I’d recommend documenting everything, confirming all promises in writing, and double-checking that any agreed work has actually been completed before moving in.

We have had a great experience renting our flat in Stockwell thanks to Matilda. She really took control of the whole process from start to finish and made everything feel smooth and stress free. Matilda went out of her way to drive us to the property so we could view it in person, coordinated directly with the landlord, and made sure they were available during our visit to answer questions. She was always on top of communication, keeping us updated at every stage, flagging key steps clearly, and responding quickly whenever we had queries. Renting can be a stressful process but Matilda has genuinely made it easy and straightforward for us. Dear Mr Gibb(managing director of Dexters) This a copy of an e mail sent to him 2 days ago by myself I know I have praised all the people involved in the letting and maintenance of our property in Streatham previously but the latest reorganisation which involved splitting the team into separate divisions(no doubt due to the fact that they are busier due to your brilliant service), but this is just to inform you the standard of service has not slipped one iota The lady currently dealing with my property Sky Joseph(based at Clapham) High Street) has been outstanding in dealing with various niggles and finally managed to get to the root of a long recurring damp issue(none of which I hasten to add was due to any fault by Dexters) and which had been a source of minor irritation for everyone. I have already expressed my gratitude to her but just to let you your reorganisation as stated previously has worked brilliantly and to make sure she gets due recognition. I had a great experience with Robert Lynch at Dexters. He has been extremely helpful and after an initial quick response has remained proactive throughout the entire process. After a signed up with Dexters, within a very short time Robert had reached out with several options suited to my rather unique search criteria and offered his advice, finding me the perfect house very quickly. He supported me through the referencing process (which for me was rather confusing and daunting as a new tenant) and kept in regular contact throughout, all the way to picking up the keys. Even after moving in, he kept in touch and came round on the day I moved in to ensure that everything has been smooth. I had a small teething issue with Robert sorted the same day. Really impressed. I would definitely recommend Robert Lynch and Dexters.
