By far the worst agency for tenants and landlords

Horrible, horrible, horrible experience with Chestertons Fulham lettings and property management. Multiple issues with the property left unresolved, we finally decided to cut our losses and leave, didn’t receive any compensation for living in a property which had stains and leaks and other issues, instead we were charged an early vacating fee. Escalated to management and then senior management, no one cared. It’s been 3 years we are still scarred by our horrible experience with this company and would not recommend it to our worst enemy. Stay well clear if you value your sanity.

Excellent experience with Chestertons, especially thanks to Risida and Prue

I rented with Chestertons for three years until the landlord decided to sell the property. Everything was managed by Chestertons rather than through the landlord and I had an excellent experience using Chestertons throughout my tenancy. I would love to commend Risida Geeganage who is the Property Manager. She is friendly, professional, very easy to deal with, has great communication and always responds quickly. Any queries or issues I had were immediately resolved. Thanks to Risida the renting process was very easy and stress free. Risida was also extremely kind and helpful after my tenancy ended and returning my initial deposit. I would also like to commend Prue Semba who helped me throughout my initial property search and has always been friendly, charismatic, professional and also goes above and beyond for her clients. Thank you Chestertons for the last three years. I would highly recommend using Chestertons in the future.

I engaged with Chestertons in respect of a new residential property purchase in Putney. From the outset, the service from John Ralph was first class - he was professional, courteous, and gave me great confidence in the process. We had some challenges along the way in the process, including a tricky team on the Vendor's side... but John used his experience and pragmatism to find solutions at every hurdle. I definitely felt comfortable that he would help me navigate through the process, and I was delighted to complete on my property last week (Jan 2025.) A sad tale

We have used Chestertons for several years as agents for a flat we were renting out in Fulham. During that time we formed the impression that they were slow, inefficient and expensive but reasonably competent. However, when talking to our tenants we discovered that while the former adjectives were true the latter one was not...However, the real problems began when the property became vacant so we could refurbish it. The so called Vacant Property Management service was a shambles and a rip off. There was lack of attention to detail combined with marked slowness in response. Bills were not sorted and a number of problems developed which were not noted during the "visits". An emergency developed over the Christmas period. The much vaunted Emergency response refused to get involved and we have never received any response from Chestertons in relation to this difficulty, which we had to sort out ourselves from a considerable distance from London. Since sacking them we have no response from the so called team.Though some of the staff were particularly incompetent, we have avoided identifying individuals in this review (two were helpful and we have sent them individual emails saying so). We consider the problems stem largely from an inefficient and inexperienced staff who seem to spend their time emailing each other but avoiding the actual task. We are now with a smaller local estate agent and the difference is striking.Nicol and Viv Ferrier, Newcastle

Overseas property management at its finest

As an overseas landlady with a fully managed property in dynamic SW6 LONDON I find it critical to work with an estate agent that employs the best people. Well, I feel like I have won the lottery with Chestertons and Richard Parkins in particular. Richard is an excellent property manager and in my opinion, an excellent ambassador for Chestertons. Richard is responsive, professional, considerate, bright a quick thinker and ALWAYS willing to go the extra mile for me and think out of the box! Incompetence throughout

Incompetence throughout. We were pushed into signing and moving in within a few days, we were told lies about issues with the contract when raised. They left furniture in the flat when we moved which they didn't bother to remove for a week afterwards. One of our keys doesn't work and they've failed to replace it. We have an ongoing maintenance issue which has been going on for over a month with no end in sight as they want to pursue baseless accusations, leading to a working relationship were we are unlikely to report issues in future due to their utter lack of competence.

Abbie and her team (Parsons Green, Lettings) were superb! We were a little apprehensive about putting our property up for short let -- but they made the process really easy -- offering great advice and support. Once we decided to go ahead, the photographer was there the next day and everything was so easy. Getting to meet the whole team was also a nice bonus -- we felt in good hands. I took his advice and we had an offer for the full asking price within a week. Amy helped to navigate the process through to completion.
