Choose Aaron at Chestertons

We happened to be looking in one of the most chaotic and competitive environments for renting a flat since coming out of lockdown. We were constantly emailing and calling over 20 different agencies to try to get viewings for flats, and not hearing back from anyone or not able to schedule any viewings. The moment we saw a flat listed with Chestertons we gave their office a call and was able to speak to Aaron, who was both friendly and professional. While the flat we were interested in had already been rented, two months in advance, he immediately asked us what our parameters were and sent me an email seconds later with three or four options for available flats. I was scheduled to view another flat with another agent an hour later, and I quickly asked if Aaron could show me one of the flats he suggested after that other showing. He was not only able to arrange a viewing with one hour notice after meeting me but also made it work for my schedule and we were the first ones to see the flat, even before it went on the market. That flat ended up being the one we are living in and we couldn’t be happier! Throughout the process Aaron was so responsive and helpful, going out of his way to make sure that we were clear on the process and answering all of our questions immediately. Aaron was a joy to work with and made a process that can sometimes be unpleasant and daunting, very accessible and enjoyable. He is clearly dedicated to helping people find their new home and brings a level of enthusiasm, passion, and humanity to an industry that can feel very transactional or clinical. You’d be lucky to have Aaron as you’re letting agent and we will be recommending him and his colleagues at Chestertons to all of our friends!

The current market has made it extremely difficult for tenants and buyers. Speaking and meeting Julia and John has been a refreshing experience. Not only did they respond immediately to my request but the level of service was impeccable - I was even offered a lift to the station in the company car! A Mitch in time saves nine

Mitch and the Chestertons’ team at Islington were fabulous and extremely professional throughout the whole process. I was anxious about my move to London and the pressure to find the right property in a short timeframe; but Mitch and the team supported me throughout and genuinely cared about my situation.Mitch’s knowledge of the local area and the wider city helped me to identify neighbourhoods that would be suitable and saved me time researching. Mitch was always on time for viewings and prompt with his communication. He had a cheerful, calming presence and a relaxing scent of patchouli followed him around to make each encounter enjoyable for all the senses. I can’t recommend Mitch and Chestertons enough.

Stav goes worldwide! Stav was a pleasure to deal with we had the hard dilemma of moving over from Aus to London in height of pandemic times (Feb/March 2021). We were able to give specifics on our requirements even from Aus and he was able to get us videos, update and help us with contract negotiation. He was easy to get in touch with as well via whatsapp and even helped us work through their contract system once we decided on a place. Would highly rate him!

If she didn't know herself she always asked the right people and got me a response immediately. And on top she was always very friendly and I had the feeling that she really enjoyed helping you and, hence, I did not feel awkward asking her often stupid questions. Avoid to be tenant on a property they manage

Clearly, I would've recommend to add some clauses to the standard tenancy agreement to avoid problems listed below, or better do not have a deal with them at all.Do not go with them, they just ignorant and incompetent.1) They lied that flat will be professionally cleaned. There was dirty windows, dust and bird poop on the floor, some old food in the fridge (Consider that we moved in 2 weeks after tenancy started!)2) Agent keep feeding me "I will call you back" for 2 weeks about the sofa we agreed to be removed from the apartment, and now stopped answering calls at all.3) They send an engineer to estimate prices to change the broken mixer in shower and clogged tap. We agreed for slot 9AM-12PM, but no one appeared. I called 4 times to the agency, and they were not able to tell me wether the engineer going to visit or not. Finally, the engineer arrived at 6PM, without any prior notice and said that he received the order on 4PM at the same day. Notice, that it is clearly ONLY communication problem - they were aware of the delay, but were not able to tell me about that, even when I tried to call.4) They didn't manage even negotiate with a landlord the plumbing change for a week! For now it is very hard to use the bathroom, as there are almost every piece of plumbing is broken and ventilation does not work. When I called to them to understand the timings, they said that the person which is responsible for that is not available and recommended me to write an email (on which they are not replied)I don't know why I forced paying to them (as the price is clearly included in the rent). They are really just a broken link in communication and should be eliminated from there.UPD: they didn't even checked the heating system at all ! All the heating controllers are broken, a long time ago, damaged by a liquid from the very old batteries, which are started to leak.Also, shower mixer is completely broken now, there is no hot water there. Their engineer recommended me to "use bucket to mix the hot and cold water" and said that this is not an emergency.Even their branch manager is powerless to chaise anything. He is in the email tread with description of this situation, and still nobody called me back today for 6 hours for the urgent matter as they promised.

Absolutely excellent Estate Agent

Absolutely excellent Estate Agent, really put my faith back in the profession. We had two agents previously fail to sell our flat with one managing to have a sale fall through due to not checking the buyers finances for 10 weeks. After that we instructed Jeremy at Chesterton's. He was fantastic, found a replacement buyer in 2 days and was at the end of the phone to help all the way through the sale. Jeremy really was working for us throughout. We were extremely pleased with the service by Chestertons who helped us find a lovely flat. Both Jasmine and Cythia (from the Chiswick office in 155 Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, London, W4 2DT) were really very nice and very professional. First time moving to London and Zoe from Chestertons South West Lettings was fantastic. She showed me the property, answered all my questions, was super efficient in handling the back and forth between landlord and tenant (seems obvious but I've seen this handled so poorly before), all of which meant the whole process was completed very smoothly in less than a couple of weeks. Happy tenant, happy landlord! Even since moving in, Zoe has been really helpful in answering any further questions I've had. Pleasure dealing with Zoe and I'd recommend her. I did get an unhelpful response from her colleague while she was on holiday but that is the only negative I have!

UPDATE: We were informed that everything had been signed to move in to a new property. Then under 2 weeks before our move in date we were informed that the landlord never in fact signed and we wouldn't be able to move in leaving us without a flat (and the previous call reassuring us everything was sorted with the contracts was a lie). We were then told they would support us with finding a new property as soon as possible but they didn't do anything of use. Very disappointing service. Giorgio was always very helpful and helped us secure our flat with ease. He was easily contactable and answered all my questions fast which made it a much less stressful experience than I’ve had in the past. So far has been a great experience and Giorgio has added to that by being great.
