My husband and I are renting for the first time through Chestertons Battersea & Clapham. Josh Burfitt has been incredible at guiding us through the process and finding an excellent short term let for us which is tough to do! We highly recommend working with Josh and the Chestertons team based on their timeliness to respond for viewings and communication from beginning to end. Also, there seems to be a great team dynamic in the office and it was noticeable when we went to pick up the keys. Overall 10/10 service experience!

Chestertons have been our rental agents since 2011. The letting Director Gary Noone and his team have been absolutely brilliant in managing our rentals. The whole team which includes Gary Tamara and Josh are always available and have always been extremely helpful and responsive. They are all very pleasant and all have a great sense of humour. Any task small or large is dealt with effectively and pleasantly. They always comeback with the information we need. We have been very happy with them and would recommend them.

Where can I start- Chestertons has taken advantage of us as tenants and completely disregarded their legal duties to us multiple times. We have now been stuck in our flat for 3 days straight as they are refusing to deal with a faulty appliance that flooded our flat and inflated the floorboards near our door which has made it impossible for us to leave. When we first arrived the flat was presented to us in a disgusting condition- the last tenant had 4 cats in a 40sqm flat. Chestertons claimed that they had ‘deep cleaned’ the property before we arrived. As you can see by the images cat hair was all over the couch and mattress they kept in the flat as well as cat urine stains covering the pillows. What makes it worse is that I’m severely allergic and their negligence caused me to go to urgent care due to a reaction (which I disclosed to them at the viewing). Allergy aside, presenting a flat in such conditions knowingly is disgusting behavior as the fact that literal animal waste was still present in the flat when we moved in is abhorrent. They are now kicking the can down the road with multiple other maintenance issues and are doing nothing to help. They are by far the most incompetent property agents I have ever met and it is clear that they will take advantage of their clients for the landlord’s financial gain no matter the cost. What they’re doing is literally illegal under the Fitness For Human Habitation Act 2018. If you want to have to legally threaten your estate agency and leave a review like this to get them to do the bare minimum then choose Chestertons. Otherwise find anyone BUT them.

A Whatsapp group was set up, it meant I knew when viewings were happening and could ask any questions. Victoria managed to secure a sale within 3 weeks of my property being on the market. After starting our search with the usual rightmove approach of calling 7 different estate agents for the 7 flats that suited what we wanted and constantly getting the response " that one is gone, but let me show you this" and then was sent flats that were totally different in appearance and budget. It was a breath of fresh air to work with Zoe, all 3 of the flats we we looked round fitted our criteria and having made offers on the first two but missing out it was nice to get the third one over the line. Zoe was great through the whole process from showing us round too giving us the keys on the last day and giving me the push I needed to complete all the (slightly mundane) paperwork in between.
