Great Experience with Carter Jonas Fulham Palace Road

We have recently sold our family house of nearly 30 years in Fulham’s Alphabet Streets through Carter Jonas. We had previously dealt with Wayland Ward-Smith when the office was Sullivan Thomas, when selling my late mother’s flat in the same area.We have dealt with a fair number of agents over the years and there can be no doubt that Wayland and his team are the most professional that we have come across. Throughout the process we have had good communication with the office, viewings were handled well. We were fortunate in having a number of offers for the property and Wayland and Mandy undertook due diligence and assisted wisely in enabling us to pick the picking the best offer.Definitely would recommend.

I instructed Carter Jonas' South Kensington & Knightsbridge office to rent out my mother's flat and manage the tenancy. After some damp issues arose, I had to work closely with the property management team, in particular Lara Thake, to have works done to then re-let the property. Lara was highly efficient and without her we would still be haemorrhaging money and not getting anywhere. Now we have new tenants going in to our newly decorated flat (after only three days on the market) and all damp issues are resolved thanks to Lara and her team.The residential property management team at Carter Jonas are worth their weight in gold and will only get the best possible results for you, whilst ensuring you are looked after, as well as your property. I could not recommend Carter Jonas more.

We recently let our newly refurbished two bedroom flat in Earl's Court with the help of the wonderful team at Carter Jonas. Lajla and her team were amazing at every step. Victoria was a joy to work with and took the time to get a real understanding of our personal situation and the property itself, paying particular attention to our concerns from prior difficult tenancies. She was incredibly efficient and presented us with a selection of possible tenants that perfectly matched our requirements in less than 10 days! The paperwork was arranged swiftly and all the required admin was made completely stress free for us. We are absolutely thrilled with our new tenants and delighted with how smooth and painless the process was. We have used other agencies before but will now always come directly to Lajla and Victoria - most highly recommended!

Agent was polite and well spoken but we were completely misled on a property that we fell in love with. We were not informed that the sewage comprised a cesspit which under current environmental law is illegal. The owner would not take responsibility, provided a fake quote for a septic tank and then the wrong percolation test. We spent £1400 to have it professionally looked into to find that it would cost £23k to put right. We still wanted to go ahead mainly because of the location being close to our grandchildren and the little cottage which we felt was ideal for downsizing. The”pastureland” is waste land and accommodates the overflowing sewage from the house.It is riddled with horsetail , underneath, the owner disclosed later “might be” a mine. We still wanted it! We had offered £20k over the exacting price we had the cash ready and were willing and able to spend out on making good the land. Once the drainage issue was sorted, we arranged a house survey at which point the vendor pulled the plug, he was bullying us into going ahead with solicitor, searches etc before the house survey was done. Our solicitor had firmly advised us not to spend any more money until the house survey was done. I feel Carter Jonas colluded with a cover up, failed to disclose the issues with the sewage and the adjoining land and we now wonder why were we being cornered? A very upsetting experience all in all and a great loss of time and money for us.

Any landlord knows how hard it is to find a good estate agent who actually cares about your property and your business. I have been dealing with Fulham branch of Carter Jonas at 361 Fulham Palace Rd for a few years now. Igor Simonov and his team have always offered an outstanding service. Very unhelpful, my Husband has been looking at industrial units for rent to start up a business. We saw some advertised with Cartier Jonas so he reached out to the contact listed and he had to chase her several times before she final called him back. She said ‘the reason I didn’t come back to you is because I don’t have anything suitable’, she also recommended he use ‘Gum Tree’ to find a suitable property to start his business. I was shocked with her behaviour, if you don’t have anything suitable you still respond to people to let them know. Also how embarrassing that she would think he could find suitable business premises on gumtree! Another month passed and again we found some suitable units and so I called and left a voicemail for and also with her secretary who said she’d be in touch and to this day we’re not heard anything. Awful customer service by at Carter Jonas.

Worst Tenancy Experience

I rented with Carter Jonas because the location of the flat was perfect for my work. My initial contact with Carter Jonas sales/rentals was very pleasant. Sadly most everything related my experience with Carter Jonas was negative. When I moved in, my mum and I spent hours (around 7 hrs each) cleaning the flat. Black dust was coating the entire living room bookshelf unit, and the shower and other appliances required extensive scrubbing. The carpet had not been vacuumed under the sofa or chairs, and when I rearranged the furniture, there was gross stuff underneath. The upholstery was so dirty that I bought covers for the chair and sofa. I spent a couple of hours completely redoing the move-in inventory because it was very incomplete and didn't make note of any of the problems with the flat. Several appliances/ lights didn't work when I moved in, and I had to deal with getting repairmen into the flat. The toilet lid was broken, and the towel heater didn't work at all. One of the living room light fixtures was noticeably cracked, the stove light didn't work, there were large cracks all over the walls, and I could keep going. That was just move-in. Thankfully I was able to get the contact information of a maintenance person (who I think worked for the landlord, not Carter Jonas), and he was very helpful. The leasing agent was unresponsive when I tried contacting her about the uncleanness/maintenance needs of the flat. I sent pictures of everything along with the completed inventory report to ensure that my deposit wouldn't be affected, but didn't receive a response. The Carter Jonas agent was also rude and ambiguous about residential parking. The common areas of the building were NEVER cleaned. And sometimes rubbish overflowed the bins. Once Carter Jonas sent a rather aggressive email to all residents of the building about this rubbish situation, which was inappropriate for those of us who were using the bins within reason. Move-out was the worst part, with Carter Jonas trying to charge more than the legal guidelines for breaking a lease (especially during a pandemic; I became unemployed, and this was why I had to break my lease). They also hassled me to keep part of my deposit for "cleaning," even though I left the flat very clean (far cleaner than I found it!). This was such a waste of my time, but I appealed on principle, and finally with the help of a third party (the deposit protection scheme) received my full deposit.I could say more, but in short, I don't plan to do business with Carter Jonas again or recommend them to anyone.
