In safe and experienced hands

Having managed an old property letting for 26 years I decided to place the renovation - much needed - and management in the hands of Rebecca Gee at Carter Jonas . She has project managed extensive work , which , although expensive was done to the highest standards and is entirely satisfactory . She understands completely what is required for a successful letting in contrast to what I in the past have chosen according to my own , perhaps antique , tastes. the work was done in a predetermined timeframe and estimates were adhered to . I can certainly recommend Rebecca as a sound adviser and am most grateful to her .

recently completed the sale of Burnfoot Avenue with Carter Jonas and cannot thank Leo and the team enough for their support throughout the process. Leo was professional, proactive, responsive and always willing to pick up the phone and talk things through when needed. His communication was excellent from start to finish, and he consistently kept things moving during what became a complex and sometimes stressful transaction. What stood out most was that I always felt Leo genuinely cared about achieving the best outcome and was prepared to go the extra mile when challenges arose. His advice was calm, practical and honest, which made a huge difference throughout the sale. I would also like to mention Maddie in the office, who was incredibly helpful and supportive. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and she went out of her way to assist with administrative issues and paperwork when I needed help. That level of personal service is rare and very much appreciated. I would have no hesitation in recommending Leo, Maddie and the Carter Jonas team to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional and genuinely supportive estate agency. A lax attitude and a fluid application of the law. Avoid.

I have a property and am due to renew the contract with the tenant in June. The tenant has requested that they pay 12 months in advance as they are unable to provide work references in the UK. We also have a 12 month fixed term contract due for renewal in June. I asked if this was still possible, given the new renters legislation and was assured by the branch that it was. That was a month ago. Yesterday I pushed back and requested that they double check with their legal team and, of course it will not be legal to receive 12 months rent in advance from May 1st. If I hadn’t checked, it would have been June before I was made aware. This comes after the managing agent also instructed the tenant to open my mail when I suspected that something may have been missed by the mail forwarding service. She instructed the tenant to open my PERSONAL mail, rather than apologise to the tenants for any inconvenience and then forward it onto me as I had requested her to do. She then denied that she had done this, despite having copied me into the email chain where she did it and then offered no apology for breaking the law. All in all disgraceful, with a lax attitude to landlords and a rather fluid relationship with the law.

This agency is a complete disaster from start to finish. The apartment was supposed to be “clean” when we moved in. It was filthy and clearly not properly cleaned at all. Dust everywhere, visible dirt, and an overall state that was completely unacceptable for a move-in. This alone already showed a total lack of professionalism. They are consistently late and show zero respect for your time. Late to the first viewing, late when delivering the apartment, late to the final cleaning. Every single appointment involved waiting, excuses, and incompetence. Despite offering such an appalling service, they demanded an insane amount of money upfront: six months paid in advance. Completely unjustifiable and frankly outrageous. Communication throughout the contract was non-existent. Emails ignored, messages unanswered, and a general feeling of being completely abandoned. They changed our assigned agent three times, which resulted in total chaos and nobody taking responsibility for anything. At the end of the contract, they attempted to keep our deposit by manipulating the final cleaning report. Let that sink in. They arrived late (again), called me to come over, and when I arrived they still needed at least another hour to finish the cleaning. That is the level of professionalism you can expect. The only reason we recovered our money is because I documented everything with photos and spent days writing emails and pushing back. It was painfully obvious they were deliberately placing obstacles to avoid returning the deposit. This agency is unprofessional, disorganized, unreliable, and deeply unethical. Renting through them was a constant source of stress and frustration. If you care about your money or your sanity, do not rent with this agency under any circumstances.

Great Experience with Carter Jonas Agency! Honestly, either you rent or buy in London, the real estate agency can be a bit tricky, and only a small minority really listen and understand your needs! I found Carter Jonas very professional and they soon acknowledged my brief and proposed to me properties that really macth my needs. Giulio was my agent and he found our perfect house! All the process went smoothly and I would definitely rely on them in the future!

The letting agent we worked with, Tanya Hall, was just fantastic -- a real pleasure to work with. Besides being friendly and straightforward and accommodating in showing the property, she followed through consistently at every stage of the letting process. It was (to me) a complicated process--perhaps we were a complicated case--and Tanya was always there to answer questions promptly, to reassure, and to step in to make sure the process proceeded smoothly when it looked as if it otherwise would not. It was a pleasure and a relief to feel that we were in safe hands, that there was human reasonableness instead of an irrational and inflexible 'bureaucratic system' to engage with--and a great pleasure to find when it was all done that our confidence was well-placed.

Tenants are not treated as 'customers' in my experience.

I'd be positive if I could be, but I feel like a cash cow and not a customer. The previous agents engaged me in rent reviews, I felt like a valued tenant to them and the owner. For reasons I don't know, they were ousted by Carter Jonas last year 'and then the problems started'. 18% rise last year! These agents just assert rises. They set other houses at a high rent, then point AT THEIR OWN HOUSES to argue the prices have gone up. I sent a reply to their rent proposal this year, they claimed my proposal did 'not comply with tenancy law'. They admit market rate for my house last year has come down (the ONS data says so, too), yet they want more rent from me. 'Go figure' ! They like to assert things and don't seem to like you challenging them. Maybe they think the tenants work for them? They aggressively push rental prices for sitting tenants that my neighbours felt they had to leave, and the owner lost thousands when Carter Jonas could not find any renters at the price they were asking, so had to drop the rate again! What a waste. If they'd just had sensible rises, the owner would have ended up with more money and happy tenants!

All the executives were highly professional while also being extremely helpful. The agreement signing and handover of keys were completely hassle-free. Superb start to finish service.

From start to finish Carter Jonas were helpful, proactive and friendly in helping us sell our late fathers property. Whlist the property is in a lovely setting it requires a lot of work to bring it up to todays standards. It was also once part of a large country estate and there were various issues with regard to shared facilities and access rights. CJ halped guide us through the process and came up with proactive suggestions on addressing those sticking points. If their lead agent was away for any reason someone immediately stepped in and ensure progress was not interupted.

Sam Jarvis was brilliant in the acquisition of the rental for our 2 bed property in Fulham. We wouldn't be living where we are now if he wasn't as quick and efficient with his email replies, always giving us in depth and great answers for any questions we had regarding the property. Renters beware

Rental property managed by this company on behalf of Hs2 on moving out half my deposit kept for issues not really fair, they wanted £20 for grass seed! As the lawn had died just one petty example, trying to get repairs done is difficult, they send individuals round who haven’t a clue, bodge job fix with promises to come back then never do, then charges on the tenant for issues that wouldn’t have arisen had the repairs been completed fully. The excuse - it wasn’t reported. Well have they tried their website?? Jobs reported but not actioned for weeks, when the emails are finally read, it’s all about the money and not the customers (renters). Would strictly not rent a property managed by this company ever again. They are not there for the tenants but solely to make money and for their landlords. Rented all my life moved a few times and always got all my deposit back in full. Until now.
