I can highly recommend Carter Jonas. I have used them to let my properties for many years and they provide a client focussed service to finding the right tenants quickly and secure the best rent. There have been no issues with the tenants. They manage the process of supporting me to do the tenant change over with great care and attention. They are also a pleasure to deal with.

Terrible service and poor communication

Several things went wrong when trying to sell my apartment.The person that was responsible for selling my apartment left the company. They didn't tell me anything. I only got to know this when I contacted the office 1 month after my apartment was listed and I hadn't heard anything thus far.A second point was that I was promised by the agent that they would clean my apartment for free. In the end all they did was vacuum cleaning the bedroom carpet. The rest they then claimed it was a misunderstanding. Does cleaning an apartment means cleaning one carpet only?Finally, they gave my name to several viewers. Who then found me online and contacted me directly. Is it even legal to reveal my personal details to prospective buyers for no reason? GDPR anyone?I ended up switching to another agent. Communication was really bad, and I think that's the base for trust. But trust had been violated already when they fooled me with the promises of cleaning the apartment.EDIT: I sent an email to the address provided by Carter Jonas below but they never replied. These comments here on Truspilot are probably just automatic bots. They couldn't care less about what went wrong.

I recently purchased a flat and Kate Stevens from Carter Jonas was representing the seller at the time, she was new in the Mayfair office, nonetheless she’s responsive, honest and professional. She was flexible and patient when the service providers I hired didn’t show up and I had to reschedule a few times. She made sure I was taken care of when she was in holidays. Awful customer service

Awful customer service. Been waiting since we moved in (9 months) to have a window fixed with zero compensation. We’re paying extra utilities all winter because a window won’t close. I call up about blocked drains and the response I get is not ‘I’m really sorry all your drains are blocked let us get someone out to check out what’s going on and maybe try stop your gardens flooding’ but instead they say ‘we can get someone there but if you’re putting random stuff down the drain you’re paying for it’Customer service is shocking and they appear now to care at all or trust the people that pay them every month. It’s been so hard to get anything fixed by them half the time it’s been easier to just fix it myself than even try and raise the issue.

I DO NOT Recommend Carter Jonas

I used Carter Jonas to sell my house in North Yorkshire - found them to be very very poor and slippery - strongly recommend you avoid them. The contract they use is unfair - it appears to be infinitely long and had key termination clause info missing. Their valuation "expert" at one point was trying to run backwards suggesting I reduce HIS suggested asking price by £100k. In the end, I did sell the house for much closer to the asking price. When a buyer was found they repeatedly told me it was a short chain with a cash buyer which was a lie. Often avoided replying to my emails, avoiding my calls and not returning calls (In a meeting, on holiday, off sick etc). I also discovered that they chose not to tell me about other interested buyers and had not let them view the property while it was under offer. RECOMMENDATION : AVOID

Fulham flat letting.

The re-letting of our flat in Fulham has just been completed following a schedule of re-fitting and improvements. Carter Jonas has provided excellent support and advice throughout. We found the lettings staff to be friendly, approachable and effective. We were kept fully informed throughout and the level of service and communication was continued by the admin.team once tenants were found. It is what one would expect from a long-established multi-disciplinary national property partnership.

Would not rent from them again if my life depended on it.

Having rented a property through Carter Jonas and made several complaints regarding the state of the property, there lack of response regarding these complaints was just the push we needed to buy a house. It was only then did I receive an email asking if I would like to meet at the property to discuss repairs. Let’s be perfectly honest this wasn’t for our benefit. Having made arrangements to hand back the keys we took time off work and waited at the property, only to be stood up - yes people they didn’t bother meeting us to do the final inspection or take the keys. This lead to a formal complaint being made and guess what the only call we have received from them was to thank us for the high standard we left the property in and to say we would be receiving our full deposit back - they couldn’t even get that right - wanted bank details even though they’d been taking rent. Anyway a long story short I wouldn’t recommend them, I wouldn’t rent a property through them again. They were happy for us to live with black mouldy bathroom, broken fencing, unusable cooker hob, window seals gone, broken door latches and locks etc etc. oh and this property is owned by HS2 which makes this standard of living even more outrageous. We had a leaking central heating pipe, phoned the emergency number and as water sprayed out through the wall, I was told someone would be out to fix it the following day.

Our experience with Carter Jonas was excellent. We had quite a few hurdles to overcome to be able to purchase our new home and Ed was always helpful and persistent in overcoming the difficulties. I feel we had a great relationship with Ed, he is friendly and was very professional throughout the process. All employees that I interacted with at Carter Jonas were polite and responded promptly to all my enquiries.

Avoid they treated me appalingly

I had a disgusting experience selling my house through Carter Jonas.Despite teliing them I wanted to keep my sale private to my neighbours, one month before my move they went round each house in my close, (apart from mine) with a A4 sheet of paper advertising a photo of my home and letting people know they had sold it, therefore disrespecting my need for privacy.Worst company i have ever had the misfortune to use.

I used a "partner" at Carter Jonas as a valuer for a statutory lease extension for a property that I own. The individual concerned wrote an initial valuation report in which I found (after spending ten minutes reading it) several mistakes. He was rather reticent to correct them, but did so after a bit of argument. I also had to argue with him in order to get him to lower the valuation estimate, which is clearly in the interest of the client in contracts such as this. During these discussions he said at one point "a few hundred pounds here or there doesn't make any difference." Well, maybe it doesn't matter to him because it's not his money, but it clearly matters to the client! I was not very pleased by his attitude overall, and his work (which is routine at best) was expensive, and careless. Would definitely not use Carter Jonas again.

We selected Carter Jonas to act on an executors’ sale of a flat in Bishop Mansions because of their experience of handling transactions in this complex. We were not disappointed and very pleased with the service we received from Wayland Ward-Smith and Mandy Jacobs. They showed the flat to a number of potential buyers in a very short period of time and secured an offer at the asking price. The transaction was then delayed due to challenges in obtaining Probate but we received good advice on how to manage the delay and they also kept the intended purchaser advised so that they acquired the property when formalities had been completed
