Benham and Reeves were awful and it was…

Benham and Reeves were awful and it was a horrible experience dealing with the property management team and nothing was ever dealt with correctly. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. OR RECOMMEND THEM Katrina was my property manager and she was unprofessional and not helpful and they still have not returned my deposit after 5 weeks when the Landlord gave instruction to return it immediately It's now 5 weeks and she has still got my money.Often I had to pay for problems in the flat to be resolved myself and they never send the real tradesmen.

The sales force and customer experience

Nick, Thomas and Penny: I feel thankful to Nick, Thomas and Penny for the sales of my property which was first handled by Thomas and working together with Penny. It was very slow process at first with various reasons ie overload with other new apartments in the same area, and perhaps due to the economy and sales market not that strong at that time. Both Thomas and Penny continued to give me updated information on the situation of the sales. Nick took over and he managed to have some viewers and market continued to be challenging and the sales price had to be adjusted to below the market from my understanding. Nick was aggressive and managed to confirm sales with an elderly lady. Not an easy sales to handle but with persistence and honestly from Nick, he managed to secure the sales which was continued to be a challenging one for all of us, and with Nick advising and communicating between all the different parties, the buyer, me and the solicitors involved. It was such a relief when the sales finally completed, and I thank Nick who I believed a person with great confidence and good communicator with all parties. Wishing you all with the best of luck for the upcoming sales and including to Thomas and Penny. Suzan PS it’s not appropriate to state the date of experience but overall I should say within perhaps for the last 6-9 months?

£3000 deposit not returned

60 days after vacating and not a penny of our deposit has been returned not even the undisputed portion. We were model tenants with no issues throughout our tenancy, yet Benham & Reeves are withholding our entire deposit over normal wear and tear and an unissued third-party gas bill they admit they cannot control. Formal legal notice has now been issued. Tenants: know your rights under the Tenancy Deposit Scheme before renting through them.

We recently purchased a property with Hasan Doymus, cannot recommend enough. We were introduced to Hasan at the viewing of our new property where he answered all the questions we had, took the time to walk us through the properties history etc. We decided to put an offer in, and Hasan could not have been more accessible and helpful. We were unlucky enough to engage an awful conveyancer/solicitors firm (didn't know how incompetent they were until it was too late in the process!) who would ignore emails, not submit enquiries/submit them late etc. Hasan acted as the go-between for us and the seller, and was honestly more instrumental to the sale than either of the solicitor firms. Without him we doubt it would have gone through. He chased leaseholders for documents, solved quick enquiries that had been sat on for months, and acted as a sounded board for our concerns. He went above and beyond. We were first time buyers, and Hasan took the time to explain the entire process and support us with whatever we needed, even though as buyers we were not technically his client. No enquiry was too small, and no task too big for Hasan. If you are lucky enough to get Hasan as your estate agent, he will make what can be a very stressful process as smooth and easy as possible. We would absolutely buy or sell with him again, and could not recommend him highly enough. We hope he is commended for his effort, diligence and integrity. Thank you Hasan!

She seems very close to you although distance in range as I can feel her personal closeness with her client. Penny has been extremely punctual and helpful. Not only did she respond quickly, she also tried her best to accommodate our special needs, including meeting at inconvenient time periods to suit our time schedules, and providing useful advices on refurbishments and other utilities. I engaged Benson and Reeves to sell my property at Arthaus Hackney London. My agent Mr Hasan Doymus was very helpful and very convincing to get the buyer to agree to my price. The Buyer finally agree to my price after persuasion by Mr Hasan. However I found the buyer to be extremely overtly careful and ask hundreds of questions about the property including its maintenance and renovation previous ownership etc ++. Again Mr Hasan helped me with the answers and help me resolve all the queries the buyer posted. Finally it was sold in Nov 2023. Mr Hasan was very patient and capable of convincing the buyer and finding solutions to difficult problems in the sake. He work very hard to get the sale to go through. I highly recommend Mr Hasan to anyone who wish to sell his property. Without Mr Jasan i think the sale would have been aborted. Thank you Mr Hasan Dr Cheng J P

Moving house can be a nightmare, but Rahim at Benham and Reeves made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Rahim was a professional, efficient, and had the right amount of empathy.
