Complaint handler- An Assistant

Barney Estates especially the Director is a big joke. She appointed an assistant to investigate my complaint. Ha ha ha. If the assistant is so qualified why not make her a Director as well? Don't you have someone at a Managerial or Director level to investigate my complaint? You may have a complaints procedure but not a capable person to investigate it. Hence, the Director is a BIG nuisance. Very very rude and impolite. I would say she is a childish Director. Shame on you.

I was offered the chance to purchase some land before the auction in July 26, but not all the facts were disclosed. I felt that I was being pressured to sign immediately, however after doing some online research I found that a footpath went across the property that had not mentioned.

Bought a land from this firm advertised it as on main road with access after purchased found out there was no access to the land they been dishonest I trusted them but honestly these guys a scammers and should be taken to court for ripping people ,also be aware of there overages cost you will end up paying them huge sums and land will be worth less . I’ll be taking legal action against them for their dishonesty and fraud . stay away from them and report them

I don't have any issues with Barney's…

I don't have any issues with Barney's Estate, but be mindful of their seller called legal Spooner properties limited. Check and confirm that you don't have any yearly overage. I have checked and couldn't find anywhere in the UK where people are expected to pay a yearly sum of 1000 pounds for an agricultural land less than 0.5 acre, without a building permission. This company has caused me so much nightmares with their threatening letters. Approach them with caution!

I was in a desperate situation where i…

I was in a desperate situation where i needed to sell my land urgently. After going through most of the well known auctions i was not satisfied with the reserve they were willing to sell my land at. I needed to achieve a certain figure which non of the auctions or estate agents wanted to agree too. I fortunately came across barney estates which proved to be a major break through for me. In particular i was assigned to Rowan, I went through the sale detailed and for the first time the list price was agreed too. During the live auctions I was considered to lower my list price as i really needed an urgent sale, Rowan again advised me to stay firm at the original price, This proved to be crucial advise as she secured me a buyer and I was able to sell at the asking price. Rowan was super professional kind and very confident during the process. I cannot thank her enough for her efforts, I feel as though you understood my situation unlike other auctions or agents. Going forward I will no doubt be contacting her when buying or selling. Highly recommended if you want a reliable and efficient company to buy or sell properties.

We were buying a plot with them, and during the process, they removed two names from our side of the contract to push it through. Our £16k+ deposit is still tied up, their solicitors stopped responding once our legal team got involved, and the matter is ongoing as we pursue legal action.

I rarely write reviews however this has to be an exception. One of, if not the worst property sales agent I have ever come across!! Do not involve yourself or your company with these cowboys. Jonathan is one of the least professional and rude salesmen I have ever encountered and on countless occasions lied and was evasive with the truth. He puts one under immense pressure to send deposits that give no security whatsoever. If it were not for my cautious nature I would now be at significant financial loss. The company needs to be investigated by the Ombudsmen as soon as possible as they are carrying out illegal practices and signing contracts that are misleading. Quite frankly they are an embarrassment to the industry as a whole. I hope this review saves others from the pain I have experienced from dealing with this agency. Regards, John

I’ve been attempting to purchase a property but my experience has been frustrating due to a lack of transparency around the fees. I was informed that there would be £3,600 and other person said £3300 include tax an agency fees for a £15,000 property, which I feel is disproportionately high. Additionally, the cost of the legal pack was over £10,000, another significant expense that wasn’t clearly explained upfront. Despite multiple requests, I’ve struggled to get a clear breakdown of these charges, leaving me concerned about their fairness. After leaving a review about my experience, I received an email from the company threatening legal action if I didn’t take it down. This kind of response only raises more concerns about their practices. I would advise others to exercise caution and make sure they fully understand all costs before engaging with this agency.

Be very carefulOriginally I left a review and then I took it off cos I thought Amiee was actually being genuine. It’s all a scam, they sold me a parcel of land with no access, but yet on their brochure it’s shows access. Access which has no connection to my parcel of land. It’s only when I visited the site I was told I was trespassing as the road was privately owned. The owner had written to the seller (strategic holdings 1 to 9) legal that they couldn’t use his road to access the parcels of land. Yet Barney Estate concealed this information in order to obtain a sale. My advise is never use an online auction house especially one which is not transparent in their dealings and will break their own code of conduct to make money. They are ruthless, have lost 10kg in the process of dealing with these white collar criminals. The seller is now seeking £10500 through insolvency, for the two day extra to his original completion date. Who completes a sale in 6 days. I offered to walk away, allowing them keep my £31,000 and the land which they rejected. Which makes perfect sense as land is worthless to them cos there’s no access. When you deal with reputable companies you won’t experience these issues. Regardless what you think I have witnesses, both have said I don’t have access and they live there. Some much for due diligence, charging £3300 for absolutely nothing. I will leave a negative comment every week to stop you from defrauding people.

They had us sign documents and pay a £24,000 deposit for two plots, but they never explained that this deposit would be non-refundable after signing.

Awful company, I requested to see the legal pack for a commercial property worth over £1m. Their response was you have to transfer 15% of property price (£150,000) then only will they give me access to read the legal pack. Are they out of their minds, who would ever do that???
