Appalling Experience at Barnard Marcus Streatham BranchI am compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience with Barnard Marcus Streatham by leaving this 1-star review. The events that unfolded during my tenancy with this agency have been appalling, prompting me to caution potential clients.During a recent vacation, my rented flat became the target of a burglary orchestrated during house viewings organised by Barnard Marcus Streatham. The lack of communication regarding these viewings, coupled with the unprofessional conduct of their staff, has been profoundly distressing.The senior manager, Bernardo Reggi, completely disregards tenant rights and safety. Despite explicit requests for communication via email due to work commitments, persistent phone calls disrupted our lives. Additionally, the failure to report the burglary during a viewing and the subsequent conflicting statements provided to the police only added to the chaos.My attempt to address these issues during a visit to their office was met with aggression and unprofessional behaviour from Mr. Reggi. Instead of empathy and resolution, I experienced hostility.In light of these incidents, I implore potential clients to be cautious when considering Barnard Marcus Streatham for their property needs. The lack of security measures during viewings, miscommunication and unprofessional conduct of their staff are serious red flags.Moreover, after the property was burgled, they refused to provide the landlord’s contact details, as Bernardo Reggi (Senior Manager) claimed that the landlord "doesn’t have time for people like us" since he owns multiple properties around the area and doesn’t want to waste his time on us.I sincerely hope that this review serves as a warning and encourages the agency to take immediate action to rectify their shortcomings and ensure their clients' safety, security, and well-being. Finally, I want to warn everyone that the 5-star reviews you see here are from the estate agents who keep begging the people to leave reviews after they signed the papers, as they asked me around 5 times when I signed with them. Therefore, it doesn’t truly reflect their professionalism at all.

Even though I was not her client (I was 4 properties above her clients) she was the only agent in the chain who understood customer service and the importance of keeping everyone updated. Without her support my chain would 100% have fallen through. She is brilliant…. If you are her manager reading this she deserves a pay rise.

Again, Thornton Heath branch are lazy, obnoxious, unknowledgeable, can't even be bothered to obtain information on the flats/properties they are selling but are very fast and aggressive to secure an instruction-after that they will work for the buyer in getting the worst price then force the seller into taking it.

Worse customer service: Barnard Marcus Muswell Hill.Following a bereavement case Barnard Marcus refused to transfer the deposit to me. Didnt want raise a complaint to TDS. The landlord and myself had to raise a complaint with TDS, who transferred the funds straight away.Started a complaint process with Barnard Marcus. Customer Service as poor as the local BM Muswell hill. Agency didn't see any issue with the non acceptance to transfer the deposit, get TDS involve and just dismissed the case.Asked for last resolution email to go to Ombudsman property, no replies after that. Really poor service, not sure that they know what they are doing. Will be scared to put a deposit them as it is a hassle to get it after.

GoogleKelly Gill and James Fox did a great job.They are professional, friendly and provide just the right amount of feedback and support. They found a buyer for me quickly even though there weren't many viewings, which tells me that they weed out time wasters. I got the price I wanted and there were no last minute glitches (such as last minute price reduction). I would definitely recommend them for a smooth and satisfactory transaction.

My husband and I started the process of buying our first home together. We found a property that would have been perfect for our family, arranged a viewing and shortly after made an offer. At this point, we were told no other offers had been made. After chasing for several days, we were eventually told the first offer we made wasn’t accepted so we increased it by a considerable amount. Following that offer, we were told they’d update one of us within 48 hours. It’s been a month and we are yet to receive an update from any one …A few weeks ago we contacted the estate agents for an update on the offer we made. We were advised by 3 members of staff on 3 different occasions that selling the property has been put on hold, as requested by the owners. We were promised that when it is up and running again we would receive a call. I have just driven past the property and there is a SOLD sign outside. Online it says the same. Our offer was clearly not passed on to the owners and we weren’t given a fair shot to increase our offer if needed.I would never recommend this estate agents for buying or selling a property, all of them are extremely unprofessional and dishonest

I have received multiple calls about a property that is nothing to do with me, and while I have asked them to delete my data from their system, they clearly have not as the calls keep coming. Very frustrating.

Most of all, James's communication on (at least) a weekly basis has meant we have been able to move the process along quickly & efficiently. I would definitely recommend these agents .. particularly James!

Michael at Barnard Marcus New Malden not only caused my sale with them to not proceed costing me £1000 in wasted solicitor fees due to his incompetence but also when I left and joined a new estate agent he sabotaged my current sale by sharing my information to a buyer in direct violation of the property ombudsman’s code. I even came in to the offices once to collect my keys and they had the door locked as a customer was angry at Michael!!! Avoid this estate agent at all costs in New Malden, im currently going through their complaints procedure!

I no longer use Barnard Marcus Putney as a managing agent. However. I have had to go back through figures for tax purposes and discovered discrepancies in their payments to me.In 2021 I was receiving 1'291.40 in rent from them except for February when I received 1'219.40.In 2018 I was receiving 1'300.51 in rent from them except for October when I received 1'200.51.Slip of the accountants finger or fraud? Either way, the mistake was in Barnard Marcus' favour. Barnard Marcus: It's been a few years, but if you want to follow this up then contact me through Trustpilot.

Listed a property with a different agent and they proceeded to hound me every week to see if I wanted to list with them. No idea how they even got my number in the first place and despite asking them to take me off their call list, they carried on. Ended up lying and say it had sold just to stop the persistent calls.

Use this estate agent Barnard Marcus Seldon branch at your peril for renting. They took my deposit of £260 and refused to give it back stating I lied about my salary on my application form.. When I asked for proof of this as it was not true they refused to show me my application form which would prove I did not give them false information. I took them to the County Court and they were issued with a CCJ. Only then did they return my deposit. This cost £35 to do and I got this back as costs. They had to pay me as they knew they had no proof. Please be aware.
