Whilst my overall home-buying experience wasn't great, the one positive constant factor in the process was my mortgage broker Priscilla Mohanarajah at the Ealing branch. She responded swiftly to any enquiries, proactively followed up and acted professionally throughout with a friendly, helpful attitude even when scenarios changed. TrustpilotDon't buy from their Auction business !!!
I used their auction division and bought a plot of land through their auction recently. It turns out the land has other owners who believe they should own the land so having paid all the cash and I now in a massive legal dispute over if I have bought the land or not. They emailed me the day after the auction telling me that the completion date, as was the seller's right to do so, had been brought forward to 2 days from then, giving me no time to get a solicitor/conveyancer and their auction rep company, who badgered me with threats and sent someone around to my house and posted a notice in my window all taped to the glass, told me they always check that everything is fine with property and/or land they auction, so it would be a waste of time for me to get a solicitor. Then letters started arriving from other solicitors telling me of the claim to the land I had bought and I have emailed Barnard Marcus many times and no-one will respond to me. Absolute disgrace. Don't buy from their auctions !!

I viewed a flat in Wandsworth and tried to put down an offer and I called agency maybe 5 times then manager called me to say landlord lives in another country so getting back to you will take time because of time difference. And I waited till Monday no one called me and I was wondering and called them to ask and manager was surprised that no one called me to let me know that someone else offer accepted from same day. I got it landlord could accept another offer but again why I needed to call 5 times to put down an offer and I wasn’t inform that property now available anymore. Please you judge the professional work here

Really impressed with the changes they made in their Putney office. I was selling my flat with them before they changed the whole sales team in July. After few weeks without a single viewing or communication, I was about to take my property to a different agency. BM scrapped the old team to bring a new one just on time, including a top sales from another office (Karim). I gave the new team a chance.What a change... like day and night. Karim took over my property and found not one, but two buyers in a matter of a couple of weeks. Old school, high touch, high intensity, working the property with callouts, bringing relevant viewings and keeping communication with us on point. These guys are not waiting for clicks. Karim has to be one of the best agents in the area. It's not magic, it's just hard work!

We sold our house through Barnard Marcus in Sydenham, London and from the outset we were given great customer service. Nathan, the branch manager, patiently went through the contract with us and answered all our queries promptly. Once we'd signed up everything was taken care of promptly e.g. marketing photos and setting up viewings. The team worked tirelessly to manage our sale and keep the chain communications progressing once we'd found our new home. A nice bonus is that they were all so friendly and approachable throughout the process; I highly recommend them.

I have been marketing a flat for rent with Barnard Marcus Earls Court. The early stages of the marketing were unimpressive given how busy the market is, but when I threatened to move to another agency, they upped their game and tenants were found. In preparation for this we made sure it was cleaned from top to bottom and we exited the flat having closed all internal doors, switched off all lights and double locked. 24 hours later I needed to place an information booklet into the property in advance of the arrival of the tenants, only to find that the front door was no longer double locked, the property had been used for some sort of 'entertaining' - the furniture had been sat on, there were champagne glasses in the sink, the bathroom had been used, the doors to every room were open and the TV had been watched as the remote control was not in the holder where I had left it. The only possible conclusion was that someone from Barnard Marcus, knowing the flat was empty and being in possession of a set of keys took it upon themselves to trespass into a now rental agreed property which was off market and make use of it in the few days between completion and move-in. They are strenuously denying it and trying to place the blame on us, or the previous tenants... but its absolutely clear that someone from that branch has behaved appallingly - and indeed illegally. The service throughout has not been particularly stellar but their response to this situation has been total denial and trying to place blame elsewhere.

Barnard Marcus - WallingtonI had a viewing in Coulsdon with Barnard Marcus and subsequently put a price in with an offer. Days had passed since the viewing and I found myself chasing the estate agent for updates.I was promised call backs I was never to receive, I then looked online again at the listing to see it had been marked as "let agreed" on rightmove. I find it highly unprofessional that this would be publicly updated online for all to see without firstly giving a courtesy call to the other offeror's to advise it has been agreed elsewhere.I have since asked the company to remove me from their systems and I shan't be using their services again.

GoogleMe and my partner have recently rented a property through Barnard Marcus Ealing and have had Shaquille Campbell help us with everything. He remembered myself enquiring about a property that had unfortunately gone and told me he would call back if anything came up. He called me a few days later and booked us into a viewing for a property in which we got the very same day! He has been very kind and helpful with all of our questions (being first time renters) and got back to us very quickly so the process of moving in could commence the next week! Could not recommend him enough :) Thankyou!

GoogleWe have been lucky to have the Ealing branch with us through the sale of our flat. For any property over 500k, there are little things that might not b so important if you are selling a studio, but our sale would have never completed without them. We actually had a buyer right away and it was only our fault by not really been prepared for this that the cash buyer walked away and reserved different property. BM would not allow timewasters, in fact the offer is only ever on the table if the buyer has got the actual finances to proceed. While things are being finalized property stays on the market in case any other credible offers come through unless you agree differently with them. Our buyers solicitor worked beyond slow but we still moved ahead (it turned out they prioritized other clients...but the uncertainty of not knowing why and what is happening can be difficult if your agent does not keep you informed. Good agent ensures the buyer stays put and this absolutely makes or breaks the sale). Overall each member has something really great about them and I don't want to single anyone out because it is the fact they all work as a team that makes things happen. I have already recommended their services to others and would not hesitate to do so again.

GoogleWill offered very good service and we appreciate his input and great help in bringing the process to the final agreement for the purchase of our new property and being very proactive to achieve the exchange by pushing for action by the solicitors. Very informative by regular updates on the progress of the purchasing process with good communication bearing in mind that we were dealing and discussing regarding the property and the purchase from abroad. Very satisfied with Barnard Marcus altogether and will not hesitate to recommend the agent to others. Many thanks.

From the beginning they kept us informed all the way through, everyone we dealt with was extremely professional. We would recommend to anyone, and we would definitely use in the future for buying or selling. We had the pleasure of having Imogen Beadon and Kelly Gill supporting us throughout. A friendly, helpful team to deal with. Kept me updated regularly and got back to me really quickly if I had any queries. Kept in regular contact with my solicitor so everyone was up to date with what was happening. They knew we were keen to complete before Christmas and because of their excellent communication we were able to do so. Very professional from start to finish, always at the end of the phone for help and advice. Thank you both!

The worst agency ever. All they can do is take money from the landlords and then provide zero service. John Fenton - area manager - has not actioned my complaint for three weeks - I want all of the fees I paid refunded.The tenants were not properly referenced (the agency lied they were a family), I could not get access to the property even with notice and therefore couldn’t do sale viewings, the agency didn’t chase rent arrears, it didn’t help me negotiate deductions for damage to my property from the deposit and didn’t do a check-out report.Two months after the tenants have moved out my complaint has not been actioned,I have not got any of the deposit or rent arrears.I told John Fenton and his superiors I have posted a review, as I was very disappointed with the service and even sent them a screenshot. Instead of actioning my complaint Barnard Marcus complained to TrustPilot that my review was fake and tried to have it removed. I then had to provide confidential documents such as rent statements to prove my review was real.Worst service imaginable.Avoid!
