TrustpilotAppalling company who seem only interested in their overinflated commission
If I could give Barnard Marcus 0 stars I would. Whilst they may have sold my property. In 6 months they found 1 potential buyer and I had to show him round. Throughout the entire period I had to chase them I complained on numerous occasions but nothing changed, and in the end when I complained formally in writing the response was "We understand you're not happy with the way your sale had been handled but none of the problems stopped the sale going through"Hopefully I'll never have to move again but if I do it won't be with Barnard Marcus.

Trustpilotbad company, unprofessional team, no respect for customers
We have been tenants with Barnard Marcus (Sequence LTD) for 2 years. Dealing with them has been one of the most frustrating experiences I ever had. The first problems started even before entering our new house because Tooting Offices did not process the contract on time. As consequence our entrance was delayed one day. After 2 years living in the property, our tenancy agreement ended on a 24th Sept and I claimed my deposit back immediately after. My deposit was not transferred back to my account until the second week of December. During that period I claimed it repeatedly by phone, email and in person, providing all the details they needed to process the refund every single time. I spoke with 9 different employees from different departments and none of them was competent enough to solve the situation nor even give me a reasonable explanation for the delay in the transfer. Most of my emails and phone calls were ignored and on those times when I was lucky enough that someone answered the phone I only received vague excuses asking me to wait a few more days to receive the monies, or claiming that it might be caused by a problem with my bank account. I asked my bank twice and nothing was wrong with my account, transfers should be received in 2 hours max. After complaining through their internal procedure, rising a dispute on the deposit through TDS and threatening them to contact the property Ombudsman before taking legal action the monies were received into my account (3 months after our tenancy agreement ended). Since nothing changed from the first day I claimed the deposit (same bank account, same recipients name, same reference, same everything) and they refused to send me any details on the transfers they “were attempting” I just assume they did not try even once until they were pressed by a third party.I will never deal with Barnard Marcus again in the future. Useless company, unprofessional team and total lack of respect for their customers.

Unable to resolve queries, no co-ordination between staff. constant telephone chaser call with no resolution. Elevated to manager (Francesca Mitchell) without conclusion. Still waiting for my deposit after another BM error in taking a mysterious fee!!Do not under any circumstances use this company they are USELESS!!!

TrustpilotTake proper care of your tenants!
I rent a flat through barnard marcus Ealing branch. I was contacted by James from branch that his manager was going to visit my flat to do an evaluation as per landlord request. Shockingly, when I went back home from work I found that the door was unlocked, not even closed! How careless are you! Will you leave your door open when you are out of your own home? James said he would contact his manager, but I never got a reply from him, nor did I get an apology from whoever did the evaluation.

TrustpilotI even don’t want to give one star…
I even don’t want to give one star because of very very cheap and low costumer services. Avoid them because of the cheap behaviour of staff. They value their own time not the costumer.

TrustpilotAbsolutely TERRIBLE service (Richmond…
Absolutely TERRIBLE service (Richmond offices). First, we were given the wrong information about the release of our deposit. We were asked to first go to the landlord in order to get our deposit. The landlord was on holiday so we waited for when he got back. The landlord then advised us that the deposit wad with Barnard Marcus. When we again approached Barnard Marcus (depending on whom we approached) we were then told that Barnard Marcus was now waiting for the landlords sign off!!! Not only were we given the wrong infornation but no action was taken to request the landlord for the release until after we chased Barnard Marcus a few times via calls /emails...When I requested tone am with someone in the office to escalate the issue i was told that the agent that we wwre dealing with was the manager of the office!!!We still haven't received our deposit despite receiving a go ahead from the landlord!!!!Stay away from this unprofessional firm if you want a peaceful tenancy and your deposit back.

TrustpilotDisappointing
Disappointing service. In my personal experience, I did not find the agency knowledgeable, I had to correct my name, and the amount agreed for a house purchase was wrong on the form, also not turning up for a viewing, and more. I don't blame the agency staff, something clearly needs to be fixed with the training. They are pleasant on the welcome and social side so I feel a bit sorry for them as I'm not sure where things are going wrong! I hope the managers can find a way to improve standards.

GoogleLeroy Bailey & Joshua Ferguson are top class letting agents in this area. When i first encountered them it was through an enquiry i made in which Leroy called me back within 20mins. The line was bad throughout and then it disconnected and instantly Leroy gave me a call from his mobile to continue the conversation, booked me into the property and Joshua came to meet me there, on time and didn't come across as the "typical estate agent". It is a shame that the property wasn't for me. However the service. 5 Stars.

GoogleAvoid this company!
I have used Barnard Marcus for many years and always paid the fee upfront in good faith at the start of each tenancy. My current tenants contract has moved to a periodic tenancy and they are now trying to charge another six months fees up front, more than 800.00 on top of this the current tenants split up and removing one from the contract cost over 500.00 to just remove the name from the contract. I tried to dispute the extra charge for the periodic tenancy and they withheld the whole months rent into my account and as a result I almost defaulted on my mortgage payment. I’m living in NZ and the whole experiance has been appalling. On top of this the tennant has contacted them to move out and they still have not contacted me to advise on what to do. The tenant had to contact me to say he was fed up with their service. This whole episode has dragged out over months and Joshua and Danielle have been shocking to deal with.

TrustpilotVENDORS - Spend that 0.5% extra
VENDORS - Spend that 0.5% extra to provide your buyers with a legal above board experience. We purchased a flat with Wintana at Barnard Marcus. They do not respect the law regarding conditional selling. We were forced to use in house solicitors to have our offer put forward. We were pushed to sign contracts when our property was not in the condition we offered. Very money-focused, no customer service whatsoever.

TrustpilotI signed a contract with them what a mistake !
I signed a contract with them in December, for 12 weeks, their staff over priced the property by £100,000.00 ! Local market knowledge !4 months later, i was told it was overpriced, as I tried repeatedly to get out of the 12 week contract which I believed to be over, I was told you then have to give a further 28 days notice !What a stitch up! avoid signing with them !Comment on agent feesThey got me to put the property on at £100,000 more than it was worth, with a fee based on this, then when the price was reduced wouldn't reduce their fee - its a scam to get more fee's !

TrustpilotUnprofessional
We agreed to move the 1st of March, the state agent asked us to live the 28th if Feb. We were trying to understand why pushing us to do so. We have previously arranged with our removal company for the 1st March. The state agent took 3 days to send us the contract over, just Te afternoon before we were supposed to move in. And it was delayed for a day, we had to reschedule the removal company many amd oay fees and change the date for a day where it increased £10 extra per hour! It is really disappointing and we were so frustrated. Don’t trust them and get anything written by email.

TrustpilotEstate Agencies immorality
It is immoral, unethical Estate agency taking deposit from the tenants and keeping it in their system to improve their cash flow. Maybe they are on the edge of bankruptcy.I agreed to rent a flat for 1300/month. then the agent said the landlord wants 1325 I said ok. We signed agreement and I paid £500 deposit, it was immediately deducted from my account. next day the agent said the landlord wants £1350 I said no I want my money back, aweek later said ok the landlord might consider your offer! I said no I want my money back! since 20 oct till now which is 31 oct I have not recvd my money and still asking them everyday to pay me my money. What should we do with people lie that?

TrustpilotGood luck if you are a seller!
Wanted to see an auction flat. Emailed. No response. Chased - one response with few details. Emailed two more times, no response. Showed up on day of viewing and met with a disinterested and rude agent really looking to end the viewing. What a wonderful experience! Would never use them if I were selling. Good luck to you if you are!

TrustpilotVery Pleasant Experience
I had a very pleasant experience dealing with the manager of Ealing Branch Manager, Anthony Woznia. With his help, I found my current home and I couldn't be happier living in it, for almost a year now!Their staff are knowledge, courteous, and in general very professional. And I would love to work with them again and again.

TrustpilotScammers
Scammers, don't trust them, I've lost time and money when I was about to buy a flat. They recommended me their mortgage adviser Timea Bozhani which charged me 750 pounds upfront. Despite having an excellent score I didn't qualify for any mortgage. I will never again use this agency, and for sure I'm not paying anyone upfront.

Already bad experiences during the tenancy so we looked to move out, inventory checkout was poorly coordinated - we were told someone would call us on the day of checkout, nobody did, so we rang them up and they gave us the external inventory agents and they said they had no record of a appointment for our property. We are now 3 weeks post-leaving the property, and still no sight of the deposit.
