We are London Landlords of 20 years. For the past year we have asked Karl and Vitalii to Let units in Bow E3, Leytonstone E11, and Forest Gate E7. Both guys were great throughout. They listed the property promptly, always returned my emails quickly and in full, and forwarded all necessary references. Great service, for a very reasonable fee. Will definitely use them again when the next Unit is up for Letting.

They do a bare minimum so we ended up without a flat

I would give 0 stars if i could. We dealt with Stratford agency. Let me explain the situation. We found a flat to buy and unfortunately, the agency that published it was Bairstow eves.The first bad sign was that we waited for a man who should've shown us a property for 15 minutes (his name is Vasco Correia, just so you know the heroes by names) and after 3 calls to their call centre we were told to try to call the apartment number as he's already there. We've called a few times - failed. We managed to enter the building and get to the flat after a while. When Vasco opened the door we complained about the situation and that we'd been waiting for 20+ minutes to which he replied "so what? are you going to see the flat or not?". We were pissed with the attitude and the situation but had a look on a flat. We liked the flat so much and decided to make an offer (hadn't trusted our guts, unfortunately).The process took 6 months, each time we had to call them ourselves because otherwise, we didn't receive any updates from them and the seller. Our sales progression was Ellie Lynch (well, I would call her sales REgression). Every time she and her colleagues told us that they were doing their best but if it was true we wouldn't ended up being homeless. We've been telling her that our tenancy contract will end at the end of October since August and she didn't tell us that we should prolong it as the seller is looking for a new home herself and won't move out until she buys it. So we trusted them and ended up without a flat with all our stuff.I hate the day we've decided to proceed with this agency and the flat they listed. Hope everyone who's uncertain to work or not to work with Bairstow eves will choose not to work but to save their mental health and their money.

Baistoweves Wanstead London…not professional

this review is for Wanstead London branch. They are not keen to sell the property they just need the property to be in their portfolio. I do not recommend if you are looking to sell to use this firm. I had my property for well over 4 months, ultimately I decided to take it off, still I had to give 1 month notice, even though I have already informed I have decided to remove, they don't even answer to the calls. so how can a potential buyer contact them. Even after giving them in writing 1 month notice still they didn't remove from advertising on rightmove. She calls and says to put it under Auction method. Seriously?

Definitely find a better estate agent

A few weeks ago I received a telephone call from a young member of staff at Bairstow Eves. He asked me if I was interested in selling my property. I told him no. I had bought it through them funnily enough and had just spent four months renovating it. He suggested I have a valuation despite my saying I didn’t want to sell. Eventually I agreed because I thought it would be good to see what it was worth now it had been renovated. Two text messages and a long and detailed email confirming that the manager was looking forward to meeting me at my property later that week at 12:30. She didn’t turn up and when I telephoned, I was informed that it was a desktop valuation, despite the fact that I had a an email telling me the valuation would be at my property. Having dealt with them when I bought the property and having them not bothering to respond to my email to express my dissatisfaction that they hadn’t bothered to come and do the valuation, I would never ever deal with them again. I think they are a shabby organisation and there are much better estate agents to deal with.

Carlton office provide excellent service

My past experiences of using estate agents for house purchases or sales have never been positive. That is until now. Our transaction was fairly simple as we had a first time buyer buying our house and that was the end of the chain. I found communications excellent. Never any delays. Always helpful. Always on time. STAY AWAY! Carl - the letting manager is very rude & aggressive! Lazy, unorganised and emotionally unstable. Shocked at how someone representing Bairstow eve can speak to customers the way that these lot do. I have read the comments from others about the staff here and sounds like it’s got a very bad reputation already! When I asked to make a complaint Carl was more then happy to put me through to his line manager who was sitting next to him.. what sort of manager watches on and allows their staff to be rude to customers? Shocking!

Karl was fantastic and very patient with us. We initially contacted Bairstow Eves last summer to rent out our home, which took forever to get out of and finish off ready for tenants. Never pushy, never demanding but very welcome encouragement and advice when needed. Marketing the property for only a week before we had several viewings, all of whom were exactly who we’d wanted in the property. The whole process has been conducted very professionally and painlessly and we would definitely recommend Bairstow Eves to anyone thinks by of renting out their property. Thank you Karl and team BE!

Barbara Millings is head and shoulders above every estate agent I’ve ever come across. The prompt service and attention to detail is first class. My sale had a fair few complications with the buyer’s solicitor which Barbara dealt with easily with her wealth of experience and confidence. This Agency is a FRAUD!! A lot of promises on the visit (repairing the leak in the ceiling, repainting the ceiling, washing machine that does not work, no cold water in the shower...) but NOTHING has been made! They came several time but no repairs has been done. Just imagine yourself cooking and receiving in the same time water from the ceiling on your head.. A real NIGHTMARE...! We had to leave the property to an other one and we had to wait more than 3 months to get our deposit back. This Agency is just a joke, DON'T GO THERE! There are crooks! My main problem with Bairstow Eves/Countrywide has been dealing with a wide variety of personnel and departments. I was about to search for another agent when I received a call from Karl McWilton. He has been as good as his word. I have been dealing with fewer people, and even in a time of Covid, the current setting up of the new tenancy has run smoothly. In terms of accounts and payments, Bairstow Eves has always been accurate and prompt.

I had a truly awful experience with this agent as a landlord. Firstly i must mention that Will Moss was exemplary in his service to me in helping me check out the tenant after I terminated my contract with Bairstow Eves. Its a very long story for the last year but i had a new tenant move in one year ago and problems in the flat were not dealt with a in a timely manner either with the tenant or myself. Communication and follow up by the agent was extremely poor. In amongst many problems that were not dealt with by the agent for example was the very serious problem of non operational smoke detectors. This was highlighted and noted on the check in by the agent and tenant - i was notified and gave the go ahead that these smoke detectors should be fixed immediately as not only were they a moral safety measure but also a legal requirement. 7 months later i only accidently found out through a visit to the flat by myself that they had not been fitted despite my authorisation to do so. I have a complete email trail of failures on behalf of the agent to communicate in a timely manner to me and execute necessary works. I decided to try and sort out my grievance with the branch manager Joseph. However i had to make many calls to him before he rang me back - i had to chase very hard to get a face to face meeting with him. After about three weeks i managed to pin him down for a meeting only for him not to turn up. I finally managed to meet up with him and went through all my grievances - he said he would get back to me but 2 weeks later he had not come back and i had to chase again. At this point i was having to manage problems with the flat myself and it appeared Bairstow Eves did not care at all about my concerns - i had given them the chance to make amends but they just didnt come through. I was extremely unhappy that BE had knowingly allowed my flat to run illegally and unsafely without smoke alarms - How can a company their size allow this? I decided that it was best to run this flat myself rather than carry on trusting and paying BE to run it for me - so terminated the contract.
