Not a pleasant experience from the…

Not a pleasant experience from the buyer's perspective. They basically did nothing that was exceptional apart from chasing me with calls to speed things up despite that it wasn't me delaying things as the property didn't have the required documents to confirm eligibility for a mortgage to start with then the Sellers wanted to delay the completion date. However, they did offer conveyancing and mortgage services in house but would not trust they would act to my benefit so I didn't choose them (hence probably I wasn't the desired Client to bring some extra ££) as it was clear to me they wanted to make a deal ASAP. Again, from the Buyer's perspective, it was completely useless service from WOT office in Bristol with no extra added value (just so you know the state of the house when received the keys was far away from ready to move & clean, but yes I know it's not a legal requirement) So therefore I cannot think of any 'wow' moment.

Excellent Customer Care

My husband Daron had a conversation with Paul from the Downend office today and he could not have been more helpful. Disgraceful service and totally ageist

My family are horrified at how Andrews Tewkesbury treated my 80 year old mother who needed help letting a property. They were completely ageist, knowing she didn't have a computer to upload the many documents needed for her tenancy, there was a total lack of support and understanding for a vulnerable elderly lady. She had no choice but to use their online system 'Goodlord' and staff were unhelpful, messing her around until she didn't know which way to turn. They didn't turn up for our meeting or viewing or follow through with requests for information or for things to be done to the property before she moved in. The house was cleaned at the last minute the day before she moved in as the Manager from another branch had to get her home cleaner to go in, the carpets were still wet even though the property had been empty 18 months. The furniture was still there days before and no appliances were checked other than the required basic electrical check, so Mum had to deal with a leaking rusty kitchen sink that had to be replaced, a blocked downstairs toilet backing up into the shower which even now does not flush properly, night storage heaters that are so old the bills are through the roof in a cost of living crisis, the thermostats simply don't work and a freezer that was so old it had to be replaced. There are blood and other stains on the carpets that won't come out but would you want to live with blood at the bottom of your stairs where the owner had a fall? The garage light didn't work and took months to be fixed. To name a few issues.When my brother complained, the Manager from Bishops Cleeve called to reassure us that it would be sorted but it took months and much stress for my Mum. I wrote two letters of complaint which made no difference, the Manager didn't return my calls and wrote back like a solicitor, a cold point by point letter stating whether they 'upheld' my complaints, most of which they had to and apologised but never once acknowledged how shockingly poor they were in their treatment of someone vulnerable and needing help. They clearly don't care about their very bad reputation locally. One of their contractors didn't turn up, when Mum called to let them know she heard them discuss the fact he refused to go out due to not being paid hence it took months to fix things. I have never come across anything like it - lack of care, no returned phone calls, being bounced back and forth between branches in Tewkesbury, Bishops Cleeve, Surrey and Bristol!! Incompetent. Finally they sent my Mum flowers, this didn't even scratch the surface with the problems and time wasting for us all or what she was put through and I would never deal with this company again. They really are blind to themselves and should be ashamed of how they deal with elderly people who just need a little support and kindness.

Experience of renting via Andrews

I rented a flat in Abingdon via Andrews for about seven years, and I always found them to be helpful and efficient, even during the difficult period of Covid lockdown. They were always friendly and any requests for help were dealt with promptly. It is a pity that their Abingdon branch has now closed, but even so their people in the Oxford branches were always able to help.

I popped into Andrew’s in Southville this morning and finally had the pleasure of meeting Lisa! I came in to express how happy I was with Julene’s cleaning of the property I started renting earlier this week. She did such a thorough job and it was really quite impressive how sparkling she got the oven looking! She brought a lovely energy into the house as well and I just felt that her hard work should be noted as I used to do cleaning myself!
