Put a offer in on a property, then got ask for proof of funds and mortgage in decision. When queried if our offer had been accepted, I was told by Laura, yes in principle. Little did I know but speaking to my mortgage advisor and getting my mortgage in decision from him to show as proof, would leave a credit check footprint. With 2 days gone by and no communication, I called to be told they were still showing people the property, despite saying our offer had been accepted. Speaking with 4 individuals, over the period of 4 days reiterating what had happend and to 2 directors - I was basically told they didn't accept the offer and the colleague that said that to obtain all of my financial details and proof was in the wrong. Poor communication between all staff which was clearly evident as each time I called I had to relay what had happen to each person, yet no one was calling me back, I had to chase them! So now we have a credit check footprint which you shouldn't have to many of as its deemed bad which expires in 60 days. For first time buyers with a big deposit, they couldn't have made the process more complicated.

We contacted David Lee as landlords and have been very happy with the service we have received. We never thought we would be renting the house that we are as it’s over 100 years old and not a typical rental property as it has lots of character and is in a conservation area, so needs specific upkeep to keep it up to standard. David lee helped arrange remediation works before marketing the property, which were organized and carried out. Helped with mortgage surveys at the property. They took amazing photos of the house and achieved the asking price for rental that they said they would! Which I honestly thought they wouldn’t. All the documentation was electronic and completed via email and the support from the staff made everything very easy. The fees are very reasonable and we are very happy with the service that has been provided. If your a landlord and your looking for a company to look after your property then I can honestly recommend David Lee. We have a property that we will be selling soon and I bet you can’t guess which Estate agent we will be turning to to help us with selling it!

They genuinely care about their customers, whether vendor or buyer! We found a house on right move with David Lee Estate. We had a phone call from one representative telling us he was going to collect the keys and would be with us shortly. The property was advertised as private parking. To park to view the property we had to park at least 200 foot away up a hill. So as we waited outside the house in the blading heat for 5 minutes past the agreed meeting time. We rang them to ask what was going on. Apparently the person who was doing our viewing was with a tricky client and won’t be with us for a while. What a joke. We cancelled our viewing and are moving on. Just a waste of our time and effort. Ridiculous.

Absolute disaster. Tried to buy a house through them and one of their agents withheld our offers from the seller (illegal) and tried to hike us up on the price himself (probably so he would make a better commission). Rented a property and whenever we asked to get stuff fixed it never was. When they want money or anything from you they pester you with emails and calls, but when you ask anything in return they just ignore you or it takes weeks on end. Was told my deposit would be given back within ten days, It's now been 18 days and counting and I'm still no closer to getting it back. Avoid them at all costs!

We are so happy with the level of service provided by yourselves, very professional at all stages and it was especially nice to be introduced to Sophie Coleby (client Services Manager) at Stanstead, Sophie in particular has been an amazing help enabling a smooth effective purchase especially as we know it’s been a challenging sale. We do feel that if Sophie had not been on the case there could have been a risk of the chain falling apart, but her attitude and commitment to ensuring the sale went through stopped this from happening. Having used David Lee for the buying of my own house, and having such a positive experience, it was an obvious choice to use them when it came to renting out a house in the same area. I was dealing with Megan Izod for both the viewings I arranged with David Lee. As it turned out I have found a property with another agency but this is no reflection on David Lee or on Meg whatsoever. She was entirely friendly and approachable, knowledgeable about the area and the properties, prepared, prompt with timings (in fact I was an hour early for one viewing and she managed to get to me half an hour early too, so I didn't have too long a wait!). She was very quick to respond to emails, always friendly and always professional. Most of our friends thought we were mad putting our house on the market with a 3 week old baby but the staff at David Lee were unbelievably confident that our property would sell quickly due to their extensive knowledge of the local market and more importantly, what their buyers were looking for. True to form after 1 week of marketing and 20+ viewings, we received 4 offers and eventually sold for just under 10% above our asking price and exchanged contracts just 11 weeks later. The end result has made a huge difference to our new family and we can't thank or recommend David Lee enough for all the hard work and effort they put in throughout the process. Where to start with David Lee?! Firstly, I should say we (my wife and I) sold our first home together through David Lee, and specifically a combination of Max (no longer with David Lee) and Sophie, assisted ably by Meg. They were utterly fantastic - providing a continued and calm reassuring presence throughout the process. Explaining feedback, really understanding the type of people who would be interested in our house and marketing it sensitively. My wife and I then had an absolute nightmare trying to buy somewhere through other local agents. I won't name them here, but one in particular was incredibly difficult to deal with and we saw two properties fall through before David Lee recommended that we went to see a property they had on their books. Again, knowing the type of home we were moving from, the house the suggested was almost tailor made for us. After our offer was accepted, they provided clear and consistent communications through Chris in the Bishop's Stortford office which suggested they were always keeping a close eye on the progress of the chain. It has been a long process, none of which can be laid at the feet of David Lee who have been absolutely brilliant throughout. Thank you so much once again.

Selling and Buying houses is not an easy or quick process, however, David Lee Estates, largely Chris Ord (who has been my main contact) has made the process as straight forward, clear and unstressful I think as it could be. I have dealt with many estate agents over the years but I can honestly say that David Lee have been one of the best. Lee O'Brien came round last October to take photos of our house and we said that we didn't want the property marketed just yet as we had not found anywhere to purchase. He was brilliant. He didn't harass us at all and would call us every now and again just to check how things were going. I thought they were professional and we didn't feel pushed at all in marketing our property. When however we made the call, they were brilliant. Within a couple of hours the property was on the website and an open day was arranged for the following week. I cannot recommend them enough. They have been fantastic from beginning to end. Very highly recommended.

He took the time to contact the landlord prior to my viewing to ensure that the property would meet my individual requirements. On the day he was extremely knowledgeable about the property and able to answer all my questions. David Lee is by far the best estate & lettings agents in the area, from the minute I walked in to enquire about a property they made me feel very welcome and we're all very friendly. They took down all my details and my demands for a property and said they would get back to me, Later that day they called me and I had my first viewing arranged for the next day which I was very happy about. When I arrived at the property to view it I was greeted by Ben Fidler who was very nice and out going, He had an answer to every question I asked about the property and gave me and my partner as much time as we wanted to look over the property. Ben really went the extra mile for me and my partner, he even called us out of his work hours to help us.
