Avoid at any cost! They keep deposits and at the end of tenancy even if the landlord told them to give it back they will keep it. Over 10 days since they were told to pay it back and still no money even after all evidence. Taking legal actions...

Lewisham branch

Used the Lewisham branch to sell my house. They were ok. We had some major issues at the start with the initial 2 guys looking after our place. They made loads of mistakes with the photos and measuring equipment. At one point we were receiving no response and I think they may have "left the company" after that the regional manager and another manager stepped in and it was smoother. We picked them as they had a 6 week offer where you got a discount off their fee, and they did fulfil it. They do offer a fixed fee, which means they probably have less incentive to meet the asking price than most.

We sold our house and needed somewhere to rent for six months. We viewed the property and from the moment we paid the deposit we had issues. Shannon from their Swanley office failed to have the property ready to move into on time and cost us an additional £700 pounds moving-in costs. It was still being decorated by their own handyman when we moved in. The house was filthy, the gas oven leaked gas and when the heating failed to work we were made to wait a few days to get it fixed. We moved out over three weeks ago and we still have not got the bond back. The moving in report was poorly done. The moving out report attempted to find us responsible for damage already in the property - we filmed the entire property when we moved in and when we moved out as we knew there would be issues. I am stunned anyone would trust them with their property and from the rest of the reviews it s evident the problem is endemic within Mann Countrywide. If you are considering renting through them - owner or tenant - read all the reviews. Good luck.

This is Absolutely bad experience l had with mann. I have given holding deposit on 10th of August and they have called me and inform the flat has gone on 18th. The same day l have sent all my details to get my money back and this is today 24th August. I haven't get money back. Now no flat and no money also. Very bad experience.

Review specific to Ashford, KENT letting branchThe staff there are inept and one of them openly racist.They laugh at you when you have a problem, they delay everything The only people they are interested in are the landlords. The tenants are just ATM's on legs.Do NOT deal with them, just go direct with a landlord, it's not like there is any use for estate agents in 2019.They are unregulated and staffed by sociopaths that couldn't find a job in any REAL profession

1 star is too much

1 star is too much, portsmouth branch would not allow viewings and only allowed virtual viewings Due to covid-19 despite the property being empty for a month. If I could add photos of the dirt, grime, mouse poo and stained carpets. Now in a battle to get my money back as no way would I allow my son to go near that house. Mann refuse to refund me and have to go through a complaints service.

I would HIGHLY recommend going with…

I would HIGHLY recommend going with Mann estate agents when buying/selling. Both myself and my partner had a personalised experience with the company, who offered us houses to look around prior to them being on the market. Throughout our time with them they have showed a real lack of care and understanding of what we wanted in a house and helped us every single step of the way. The whole branch were there to answer my queries or phone calls when I needed and they were all extremely friendly and found us our dream house! Extra praise goes out to Maria O'connor, who went above and beyond to help us find the dream home. From start to finish she was an absolute diamond and was there 24/7 to contact, even sometimes via text when I was unable to call due to work commitments. I thank them all so much, and will definitely be coming back to Mann Estate Agents in the future and recommending them to any of my friends in the future.

ASHFORD LETTING

AVOID AT ALL COSTSLandlords, you will lose money, tenants you will be insulted and lose your sanity.I can't understand how any criminal, lier or sociopath can call himself an 'estate agent' in the UK. This profession is regulated anywhere else in the world. Ashford letting are basically scammers, they hide behind multiple layers of subcontractors enabling them to pass the blame. You WILL be charged ret@rded amounts of money for fresh air, you WILL be insulted by Linda, the pseudo manager who's only credentials is in insulting people and walk without shoes in the office. Avoid the aggro and go elsewhere, they are numerous estate agents in Ashford,'like cancer cells spreading all over town

Absolutely appalling service from Gravesend. We let through them, they insist it’s a management company that take charge.... I’m sure someone’s bank account said different when they received their commission? Even renting through a management company the estate agent you approached should have some sort of responsibility. They have no care for their customers and will pass the buck on straight away. Never resolve just constantly push on. I’m an agent myself and I know for a fact if I treated my customers the same way, I wouldn’t have a job by the end of the day.

As an ex tenant with Mann estate…

As an ex tenant with Mann estate strood I must say there are some great and some very poor points to the way we were handled. First of all, up on viewing the property we were told renovation works would take place as the property had a number of problematic issues; broken doors, rubbish in the garden we were told would be gone if we took the property but were still there on the day we moved in, broken floor boards we didnt see until we moved in and asbestos in the garden as well as damp and mould that were successfully covered by the existing tenants belongings when we viewed. On top of this a very slimy lettings agent, Stuart, who is incredibly manipulative, led us to believe the place would be renovated before we moved in in December after viewing in November. Ive rented 3 properties with much better estate agents before including daniels estates in bromley, where they promise a renovated property and when you move in the place is done! so I expected the same from Mann and I was wrong. In the end it took 6 months and the council being involved in order to get the property up to minimum living standard. Considering this, I was shocked to find, When we vacated the property a year and a bit later, that the landlady wanted to keep our deposit to fix things that were broken when we arrived. Luckily I had taken pictures of everything and forwarded them to property manager Richelle, who, with hefty negotiations, managed to get the landlady to drop all charges except for an end of tenancy clean for £350. I was willing to pay this only because I was able to get the £350 back from my new employer in a new location after claiming it as moving expenses. What was annoying was that having known the problems with that property on Jersey road the estate agent should never have allowed the land lady to claim a penny of our deposit because inspite of all the hard ship we left the property in a better condition than it was when we found it. More should be done to stop rogue landlords from taking deposits of fee paying and law abiding tenants! So approach Mann with caution especially the strood branch! they lie and do not support good tenants enough from rogue landlords.

Dirty, evil, money hungry SCUM. Have no issues with throwing out a disabled woman and her 2 children and leaving them HOMELESS. Do NOT do business with these scummy parasites, they won't do their basic requirement because they're so unbelievably incompetent. Have no basic emapthy and are so rude and quite frankly disgusting, immorable little leeches. I honestly don't know how they sleep at night, pure scum.

Mann Chessington Sales team is great!

I am a first time buyer and having scoured the market with around 8 estate agents, Mann, Chessington hit the mark with the first property they showed me. Once we put in an offer, through out the sale process they were extremely helpful. I approached them multiple times to get the property opened so that i could get tradespeople to come and give quotes on work I wanted done. They had nothing to gain from these "viewings" but they were always happy to accommodate me. I got more advice from them around the do's and don'ts of property buying than my solicitors. Even when people were on leave, the handover of the case was smooth and the whole team rallied to help me. Excellent service, friendly team. Would definitely recommend them to first time buyers.

Renting with them has been a completly horrible experience!!!We paid £700 admin fees, non-refundable, for all the contracts, documents, inventories they needed and when we made them a complaint, because they left us for 4 MONTHS WITHOUT A SHOWER, we've been told that they cannot be helt accountable, because no contract has been signed directly with them.Horrible people, disgusting customer service. They don't care for their customers.I will never trust a renting agency again, because of them

I would give zero if I could

I would give zero if I could. I wanted to take over the management of my 2 properties from Mann. It has been 8 weeks now and I still have't received contact details of my tenants I phone nearly every day and get sincere apologies (HA HA) and assurance I will be called back immediately and they never do. The staff have much to be desired verging on useless incompetence. And strangely my emails keep disappearing which never seems to happen when they want money. There seems to be a total lack of experience, professionalism or care

The Lettings team at Mann was recommended to me by my colleague at work who currently has a property managed by the firm, initially I was somewhat dubious as I felt most agents would surely offer the same quality of service.
