Sales progression

Following on from a very fast sales agreement on our property, which we’ve already reviewed, we moved onto the contract stage. Even though our buyer’s mortgage has already been agreed in principle, the final agreement proved very difficult to secure, mostly due to really tricky market conditions. The whole process took longer than we had hoped, but Julie Bramble, our designated sales progressor, did an absolutely top job on keeping the whole process moving and on smoothing out the inevitable wrinkles. To be honest, this sale could quite easily have fallen through without Julie’s input. We’ve completed today and we couldn’t be happier with the service received from C&W.

Even when there was an issue with the meter in the new property Ciaran done everything possible to sort this out and his communication was fantastic. The worst estate agent in Britain

I honestly believe that Cubitt & West Redhill are the worst estate agents in Britain. Supposedly on the 4th March my property was sold. I then get queries because Cubitt & West were unable to explain to the purchaser what a 'Peppercorn Rent' is. 17th March I have heard nothing and after several calls I manage to speak to Cubitt & West, firstly to Tyrone who was no help at all and then to Michelle who later emails me to say that the valuation was being done that day but nobody turned up at the property to do this (?). Last Friday (1st April) I phoned to find out if I still have a purchaser and was told that someone would get back to me, nobody did. I have just phoned, got shouted at and told that there is nobody there that can tell me if I still have a purchaser, neither I or my solicitors have heard anything from Cubitt & West's proposed purchaser. Prior to accepting this offer other viewers turned up who were left standing in the cold & wet and no agent turned up from Cubitt & West and I had to show the viewers around the property myself. I honestly believe that Cubitt & West Redhill are the worst estate agents in Britain.

Great experience of selling with Cubitt and West

I recently sold my house and chose Cubitt and West to market it. The sales team was brilliant in putting the plan together and market it. I recieved offer on the first open day itself that I accepted. Post offer process was where Heather followed up with all parties and progressed the sale. Heather kept me informed all the time as well. I am glad I didn't go with self help model of selling via website as there is a lot of chading and follow ups required post offer acceptence that was done by Cubitt and West team.

Myself and my boyfriend are first time buyers and didn’t really know much about the process of buying a house . I can’t thank the girls enough, especially Amelia, Maddy and Louisa, who were always so friendly and caring when speaking to me . A great team involved on my house sale - 100% recommend!

Overall I found the whole process of my house sale with Cubitt and West a straight forward experience (thankfully) with great customer service from all people involved in the branch.I have to say, it was a very stressful process as I was also trying to purchase a new house to move on to, however none of the stress was as a result of anything from anyone at Cubitt and West and in fact they made it easier for me to understand the steps along the way of the process and tried their very best to chase up enquiries for me, to make things move faster.I cannot recommend the team enough (Julie Bramble, Mo Hussain and Zoey), all were very lovely people and very helpful and I would always consider using them again for a house sale (not that I am now planning to move again anytime soon!!) ;)

Awful experience, never again

I would leave less than 1 star if I could.I have rented over 10 properties from a variety of estate agents and I have never had a worse experience than Cubitt & West. When we moved in, the property had not been cleaned since we had a viewing, with 3 dead wasps in the bathroom, dust everywhere. A 'builders clean' had not been carried out.We emailed our property manager a few weeks after moving in and instantly got passed on to his assistant property manager, we never heard from him again.There was an ongoing issue with the bins and bin collection at the start of the tenancy, but Cubitt & West provided no support in contacting the council to address this.The inventory checklist included the wrong meter serial numbers, which lead to an ongoing issue with the energy provider (wasting multiple needless hours on the phone).We had severe issues with our neighbours due to noise and Cubitt & West were unresponsive and unhelpful on the matter, essentially saying they couldn't do anything to help us and it was out of their hands. We provided several evidenced claims that our neighbour was breaching her contract, but we were not able to speak directly with the landlord and Cubitt & West refused us this access. We believe they were not raising the issue properly with the landlord and didn't stress the severity of the matter with the landlord. They provided no advice on how we could address the issue effectively. We spoke to a specialist solicitor for advice who said Cubitt & West failed in their duties to provide us with relevant and helpful advice and he was shocked to hear how they had been reacting to our issues. It was only after we contacted our neighbours estate agents that anything was addressed.
