They aren't even worth the 1 star
They aren't even worth the 1 star. Shambles of a company, bought with them and they honestly have no clue how to operate. Reading the reviews below I am not the only one going through such an ordeal. Since moving in I have had countless issues and countless phone calls to Jigsaw to get the same response "we will chase" but 6 months down the line from the initial raising of the issue no chasing has happened because no one has contacted me! I do not see a way forward with them and how to get my issues sorted and thats the worrying thing. I will have to report via the Housing Ombudsman Service. AVOID buying/renting a property if you see their name attached.

My first home.
Back in July 2021, I accepted an offer of an tenancy from Jigsaw Homes, I fell in love with the property nice quiet area and lovely neighbours who really made me feel welcome. I am now having to give up my flat due to a Jigsaw Homes employees mistake as I am now in arrears apparently with my rent, they won't accept this but they are quick to phone to talk about how I pay my rent and that they want the money "owed" but they are not quick to call my back knowing that I am not refusing to pay and that I would like a payment plan putting in place. This has traumatised me so much I am willingly staying at my parent house for the foreseeable future.

Not fit to live in!
Did a house exchange as when my disabled partner of over 24 years passed away i was forced to give up the last house I lived in with her to downsize, which is fair enough as I am now on my own, but I didn't get time to grieve, I had to do everything quickly, ended up in a house I don't want, the area is fine but looking at houses when someone is living there it is hard to see anything wrong, the day I moved i noticed everything, the cracks in walls, outside & in, the garden is sinking to the left & the fence posts are starting to topple over so there will be no fence soon, everything in the garden uneven where you can see where it used to be level, this is affecting the house, it needs new kitchen & bathroom, there is a musty damp smell which I cannot in point, inspectors said they couldn't smell it, must have a really poor sense of smell, I am away from home at the moment & I can smell that house on my clothes, the walls all over the house are in very poor condition, there is no plaster on the walls it is done with concrete which is tougher, but cracks are appearing all over the place, so that is more worrying, the ceilings the same, & from a previous property I lived in of theirs, for 11 years I reported a crack in the ceiling due to the plumber who fitted the new bathroom at the time, he didn't put the overflow pipe on the bath, so my daughter had a bath & some water came through the dining room ceiling, 11 years of me telling them and they said it was OK, the crack got bigger, always sweeping up dust and debri, then finally after 11 years they got someone in to check it for asbestos, yes you guessed it, it contained asbestos, the bad kind, sweeping debri and dust up for 11 years, me, my severely poorly after and out young child, this house where I am now I am getting some one to check for asbestos, then they will have to replace it all, the shed outside has an asbestos roof also, the floor in the back bedroom isn't level its like walking down a ramp, the window frames have seen far better days, some of the water pipes are dented it looks like someone's stood on them, the grout in the kitchen and bathroom have been covered in black marker, there are little bits that wete missed and you can see how disgusting it is underneath, there is a big wooden plank covering something in the kitchen, its an eyesore nobody professional could have done that along with all the botching up on the walls and ceiling, behind that plank of wood in the kitchen you can look up inside it, there's has been a leak, it actually looks like yellow snot and mould and damp up there, behind the kitchen sink the walls and everything are rotted, the kitchen cupboards the coating is all peeling off them inside and out and you can see the grime everywhere even when cleaned, 8t all needs knocking down and starting again, they practically said nothing they can do for 99% of everything that needs doing, I get smells of urine, even after pulling the carpets up and scrubbing everywhere, this damp, mouldy, musty, urine smell is in all the wood, cracks in the sink and bath and told I had to sort it myself, trying to tell me its an old house, ive lived in houses far older in 46 years and I've never seen anything as disgusting and decrepit as this house, ive took loads of photos and these are getting posted on social media soon on their page, my page, share it between the thousands, see my mp, solicitor, go to the papers, I will try my hardest to get this sorted, I haven't unpacked all my stuff because if I have clothes out or in my wardrobe, they really strongly smell of that house, I have to keep them tied up in bags but they still smell of that house although not as strongly, I don't want to put most of my kitchen cupboard items in the cupboards because of the ground in dirt I can't get rid of, and the peeling off of the coating on them all, stained tiles where there's leaks, leak stain on the ceiling in front room, brown colour & that was painted over before I moved in! You can see where the walls are painted that things have been covered up, I have asthma, copd and moderate sleep apnoea where I have a machine on at night with a mask on, since I moved to this house my chest has been worse, it was fine before I moved in here, but just can't get rid of it, i hardly eat in there, I can't get round the thought of cooking in that disgusting kitchen, and eating in that house is very very hard for me, I've lost loads of weight, my family are all extremely worried about me, I struggle moving about, need surgery on my spine, I have slipped disk, curvature and arthritis in my neck, I have results of mri scans so I have proof, ive burnt myself on exposed pipes, even that bit of plastic they cover them up with is no good, I could do a better job with things from the pound shop! My partner was ill 7 & a half yrs, I cared for her, only getting paid £60 a wk, being a decent person & now I get treated like this, rent is 104 a wk!

Absolutely shocking organisation. They run sheltered accommodation and because of COVID the communal areas are closed, so Christmas decorations have been put up by some of the tenants in other areas of the accommodation. Jigsaw have ordered that these decorations be removed. You're talking about places where old people live. People who have been isolated for almost a year and here they are looking for a bit of colour and Christmas cheer and these people insisted they are taken down, absolute disgrace! And how do you think they have imposed their will? Health and safety. No explanation as to why a fire-retardant fake Christmas tree tucked out of the way is a threat to health and safety, just get it removed! I know Christmas decorations seem like such a small thing, but to the people who live in these places they matter a lot, and now they feel like they are living in some Stasi managed prison with unexplained diktats coming down from central office. They treat the tenants of these places terribly and seem to think because they are older people they can be bullied with absolute impunity. In these difficult times you'd think there would be some measured compassion, not from this lot, they don't care, they only seem to be interested in money and couldn't care less about the well-being of their customers.

Awful
Awful. Since New Charter has become Jigsaw, they appear to have adopted a couldn't care less attitude. Repair requests get fobbed off, Rent query callback requests get ignored, but if they want to talk to you they hound you.Emergency repairs stop being an emergency at 8pm, including having no hot water or heating. Apparently it's not in their criteria to send a repair man out after 8pm....so why have an emergency repair number??I've not been able to shut my window properly since 10th Dec 2020, but because I'm not ground floor, it's not going to be done due to COVID as it's not an emergency, it's still cold at night with a slightly open window COVID or not, rubbish excuse.Horrible housing company.

Refused right to buy
Got refused right to buy...and hiding behind a charity status...not very charitable to me a clear written secure tenancy agreement stating right to buy...ignored... solicitors now involved
Hi Stephen. We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the outcome of your Right to Buy application. As per our correspondence in July 2023, your property is not eligible for Right to Buy as this only applies to Council tenants or former council tenants who have been living in their home since it was transferred from a Local Authority to a Housing Association. Schedule 5 of the Housing Act 1985 confirms that the RTB does not arise if a landlord is a charity or housing association. Your former landlord and Jigsaw are both Housing Associations. You may wish to consider the Right to Aquire scheme, as outlined alongside our letter at the time. If you would like to discuss Right to Acquire, please email info@jigsawhomes.org.uk or call us on 0330 111 1133.We hope this helps.

Absolutely appalling company
Absolutely appalling companyAbsolutely appalling company. I’ve been living with a leaking roof since October 2019 and I’m still living with it now.My doors leak, my shower leaks and my bedroom windows leak. The flat has black mould that when I clean away just comes right back.I’ve sent you evidence of where the water is coming from and you still won’t listen to me! The plaster in the walls is crumbling, my TV has been water damaged, I have no heating in the living room and my carpet is now rotting. It’s gotten so far now I have the housing ombudsman involved along with a local MP, environmental health and citizens advise. We pay our rent without question but yet your breaching our rights daily.Under the landlord and tenancy act section 11 you are responsible for structural damage to a building so your breaching my rights as a tenant and breaking the law.I’ve had 7 workmen out to attempt to fix the shower with no luck. 6 workmen out to attempt to fix the leaking doors with no luck and absolutely god knows how many workmen out to look at the roof.

This is my first time renting from jigsaw, I previously was with great places housing group which BTW were excellent, I've been with jigsaw 5 months and I hate them already, the houses are built by cowboys, won't deal with neighbour complaints, threatened me with eviction for being £9 in rent arrears, repairs are non existent, worst landlord I've ever had.

Jigsaw have no control over their contractors, i;ve had 5 attempts now and multiple more visits to repair a roof leak. Unsure why they dont get the roofer back to fix their own work, makes no sense sending a handyman. This isnt the only issue we have outstanding with them and its becoming a bit of a joke. They have no grip on the builders at all. Terrible after sales service.

Houses falling to pieces and nobody…
Houses falling to pieces and nobody fixes them. Many people in district who use jigsaw/adactus have holes in ceilings and doors and windows which don't lock or unlock properly. When you ring to report these things nothing gets done. I got locked in a room because of a fault with the door and neighbors rang adactus/ jigsaw to be told it wasn't their problem and I was left there. Avoid. Wigan area
