The property was marketed very efficiently over a short time before the auction. At all times during queries made by prospective buyers staff from SDL dealt with them in a timely fashion which helped to achieve a good number of registered bidders. The day before the auction I was contacted by the auctioneer to discuss interest and set the reserve. On the day I was able to follow the bidding via the live feed which was very exciting. I thought that the auctioneer went the extra mile to achieve an excellent result. Thanks very much to everyone at SDL auctions.

So it looks like Kensington Investments has taken his dodgy dealings to SDL then..Why are you allowing this person to upload his special conditions of auction so late??? The deadline for registration is tomorrow and the special conditions of auction are still not available.I know kensington is paying you but you have a duty of care to buyers too- it is terrible that you allow this to happen.He was banned by auction house for his unscrupulous behavior and he has just jumped ship to you. It is unfair and immoral that you allow this to happen.Why aren't these special condition uploaded with the rest of the documents? These will undoubtly be loaded up with extra fees to be paid by the buyer which in itself is bad enough, but not giving potential bidders time to read them or ask a solicitor to read them is unforgivable. You are clearly aware and either turn a blind eye or worse, encourage it!Kensington sets out to rip people off and I am afraid that by standing by and allowing this you are complicit and just as guilty.Shame on you

We were absolutely delighted with SDL.We sold a house at a very difficult time in our family's life and SDL could not have been more sympathetic and responsive. They are a truly transparent auction house and we knew exactly what we were committed to right from day one and what the buyer would face too. They offer full service selling (which we took) and the fixed fee approach was very attractive. Aside from being so superbly supported by Neal Hume, the auctioneer on the day was quite simply sublime. Finely balancing the needs of the buyer as well as the seller, he achieved value for the purchaser and a fabulous, simply fabulous result for us. We were flabbergasted at what the sale realised.Quite honestly the whole experience was perfect. You could say we are biased because we are so pleased but watching the auction in progress, and learning about the strength of depth of their UK network (of agents, vendors and buyers), and finding that they were across _every_ single detail before we'd even noticed it, was an eye opener. Add to that the pace they can work at, the sheer value for money they offer and the volume of their sales record (£200m+), I'm not sure they have a peer.I cannot recommend them highly enough, personally and professionally.

We’re disappointed to receive your review and would like to address your complaint.
We can confirm that we absolutely do not have any hidden fees. In fact, we go above and beyond other auctioneers in ensuring all our fees are clear from the outset and ask all seller solicitors to include a summary of fees sheet in the legal pack.
Our legal manager has looked into your purchase, and we can see that, although the seller’s solicitor was not willing to provide a completed summary of fees form in connection with this sale, all the fees for your property were fully and clearly set out in the auction contract in the legal pack. We can also see that you read the legal pack 3 weeks prior to bidding in the auction.
We are sorry to hear that your auction experience wasn’t an entirely positive one, however we’d like to congratulate you on your auction purchase and wish you all the best with your new property.

The auction House provided good service throughout my sale process which took much longer than it should have because their Sales Director refused to show any flexibility whatsoever on their fees charged to buyers of £6000 on my student property selling for £20,000. This put off 3 potential buyers as the percentage of the fee on such a low cost sale was ridiculously high. I had to then reduce my price to absorb a large part of this buyer fees and take a huge loss on the sale.

Just awful service. They withold information so read the terms and conditions. They totally misled me regarding my property. They didn't even come out to view my property before valuing it. They put damaging false information in the legal pack. Which they do have total control of, as they finally removed the false information, after a merry go round of emails. The solicitors are SDL solicitors not mine, your reply is incorrect on the google review.If it was my solicitor they would have read the information I gave. A listed building doesn't have an EPC certificate. On your recommendations on line, you said my property needed double glazing, insulation etc etc. Over 20k of work. It is fully renovated at a huge expense. If anyone put double glazing in a listed building you would be in court. The information they added was very clear they had no idea about my property. They ignore emails and fail to call you back when they say they will. They also teamed me up with estate agents who work in the buyers favour. What should have been an easy quick option to sell, turned into a horrendous experience. Be aware if you would like any changes they charge £500. You pop up a bad review, and they soon contact you. They actually hound you. Too little too late. Please do not contact me.
