GoogleI dealt with Danvers six years ago and needed them again today. They were superb as usual. All staff are considerate, professional and know the ins and out of what they do. Thank you Danvers for looking after the tenant. Normally we are just sidelined but you always look after the people renting too. Well done and keep up the great work!

GoogleRecently started renting with Danvers Estate agent; the consistent and professional commination has been outstanding specifically from Lettings Negotiator Demi Green. She has been a massive help during the process, I look forward to working with her more in the future!

GoogleDO NOT USE THIS LETTINGS AGENT!!!!!
Awful student experience. So many admin issues (bills not sorted), so many things with the house went wrong that were a struggle to get them to fix. Then took most of our deposit even though we were good tenants and left the already poor state house in the best possible state.

GoogleIt was all nice, sweet and helpful until it came to returning our deposit. We were given back less than a half of our money and danvers wasn't able to provide us with any invoice or explaination. It took over three months and lots of nerves and contacting various people asking for help before we got back nearly all of our deposit. Despite danvers saying we'll get only £60 out of £150 each. In the end, we were charged only £15.
Unfortunately before we realised danvers has no idea what they're doing or quite opposite, they know perfectly well how to take advantage of people, we already decided to rent a house with them for one more year.
The house had no working sockets, was filthy, windows weren't secure and lots of other issues. This time we were extra careful with them and took photos of everything. The repairs with danvers take ages, they have no idea if people turn up and do the work at all. We had to contact Leicester city council at some point.
Again, we were unfairly charged but this time we knew how to solve this. We collected all evidence that we had and opened a dispute via DPS instead of counting for anything from danvers. A few days ago we got our full deposit back despite danvers trying to charge us for 'dirty oven and painting walls'.
They might have nice looking houses for reasonable prices but prepare yourself for lots of issues and constant reminding yourself. I'm glad I'm not renting with them this year : )

GoogleWhenever I have had the displeasure of phoning Danvers, the person I have spoken to on the other end has been extremely rude, unhelpful and inconsiderate. They have no respect for students. We did not even go through them as our letting agency but our landlord has recently changed to them. Danvers are now doing viewings and wanting to take photos of our house with all of our possessions within (even though they already have photos) - not only is this uncomfortable for us but completely misleading to other students as the majority of furnishings in the house are our own.
A viewing was cancelled previously and we were not even made aware that this had happened. It is not difficult to send a text to make us aware, especially as people had missed lectures to be in the property. Even though they say you do not have to be in, who wants to leave their doors open for a bunch of strangers to walk around their rooms.
I would recommend students to go elsewhere from my own personal experience.

GoogleAwful agency. Never have I experienced such unprofessionalism and unhelpfulness. Had problems from day 1 when the wrong property was shown...Actual property was rented out to me in an absolute state. Completely filthy, no working boiler, boiler condemned by British Gas. Danvers then refused to help resolve this until 5 days into me living in the property.
Danvers won't clean your property before you move in but will happily charge for cleaning afterwards!
The property had a number of damages that despite being reported were never corrected, and those that were was often done so badly I might as well have not bothered asking. On top of that, if you ever emailed with an issue, you had at least 2 different agents responding to you, often with complete different responses suggesting their staff do not communicate with one another. Would it be so difficult to just assign one agent to a case so tenants don't receive conflicting information?
On top of that, they tried to take over half my deposit for existing damages and cleanliness when the property was in a much better state - what a joke! I worked hard to make that place clean and presentable after the mess they gave it to me in! Danvers will claim a proportion of your deposit no matter what! I will be making sure other student know to avoid, good luck if you've already signed with them.......

GoogleAbsolutely incompetent and unprofessional staff. My flatmate and I have had problems with them from day 1 - the boiler wasn’t working and was even deemed unsafe by British Gas. Additionally, the place was absolutely filthy and it was a nightmare cleaning up. Despite all this, Danvers still felt the need to claim some of our deposit even though we spent a lot of time and energy cleaning the place up and it was in a far superior condition than the one presented to us at the start! They even tried to charge us for damages we did not cause!
Moreover, sorting out maintenance issues was an absolute nightmare ... not only did they take their own sweet time resolving them but we would receive different information from different people - absolutely no communication between the staff.
Do yourself a favour and DO NOT sign with this agency!

GoogleHave had the worst possible experience with this 'Estate agent'.
at first, all was well, looked at properties and Danvers were very forthcoming with information.
However, when we moved into the property, we began to notice the reason why we were warned not to go through them.
They are INCREDIBLY slow with issues of maintenance and in terms of correspondence. we have had many issues with the property, for example not being able to lock the front door properly, and it took Danvers 3 weeks and multiple maintenance requests and a phone call to have someone come to look at the door to fix it.
My housemates and i have made inquiries towards the property and correspondence has been at a snails pace. the cost for the bills is immeasurably over priced (as we went bills included) and the staffs whole attitude towards students is appalling.
if i could give 0 stars i would.
do not go here if you are a student,

GoogleMy brother and I instructed Verene at Danvers to sell our late Mother's house in late 2020. From first meeting, we were impressed with how quickly she understood the brief, implemented an agreed marketing plan and delivered an outstanding result, beyond our expectations. Throughout she kept us fully informed and more than once went the extra mile to make the process easy for us.
I would have no hesitation in recommending VerenePositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleHorrible customers service, the way they talk to you makes you feel like it’s all you fault but it’s really not, they never sent me an email to inform me about my move in day, or the fact that all the tenants have to pay before any of us have to collect the key. They also charge you to pick up your key? So they have extra charges on everything it seems, such as my electricity bill when it’s suppose to be bills included. I had to travel all the way from london to leicester to collect my keys but they refused to give it to me. So I’ve been stranded in leicester with no where to stay in a city I don’t even know! Absolutely unacceptable, talking about they sent me an email 5 times when I didn’t even receive it once. Just because the other tenants weren’t able to pay the rent why am I suffering? Especially since I’m not even the lead tenant but I had to pay for everyone’s keys! I would NEVER recommend this for a student and I wouldn’t come back to this place.

GoogleAbsolute disgrace of a company. Do not rent a property from these bunch of cowboys. Kieran Smilie, the agent who deals with us is a blatant liar. We have several problems with the property we're in and have so far waited four months for them to be resolved. We don't even have a gas safety certificate (it ran out in October!) yet Mr Smilie claims one has already been done and has even been sent to Charnwood Borough Council!!! No gas safety check has ever been carried out as the boiler STILL needs to be fixed. When I said about the boiler to Mr Smilie, he literally laughed in my face and said that an inspection has been done and that all the plumber's are gas safe registered. We are a young family, paying a lot of money for the property we're in and Danvers do everything on the cheap, if they do anything at all. They quite literally rip you off. Fortunately, we'll be leaving soon and we will also be seeing a solicitor to get our deposit back. Avoid at all costs.

GoogleI have been involved in the private rental sector in Leicester for over twenty years and have utilised Danvers's service since its inception. They have always worked very diligently and conscientiously with me and provide a cost-effective quality service for landlords. I was also impressed with their fair and transparent service for a landlord client. I deal extensively with Alexis and she, without doubt, knows her business and is very knowledgeable.
I have found that the entire Danvers's team has always delivered with their first class customer service and are problem solvers, should the need arise. Their knowledge and attention to detail are second to none and I have always found them easy to work with and willing to take the time to discuss my concerns. They deliver results and are willing to go the "extra mile" for the Client and respond to their changing needs.
In short, Danvers have always been reliable, organised and professional in all aspects of their work and dealings with me and I would have had no hesitation in recommending their service.

GoogleExcellent Professional Service - certainly recommended!
Have used Danvers to both mange and subsequently sell a property. The lettings team are always professional and courteous and I have always found them approachable and helpful. I subsequently sold the property and found the sales team equally as supportive. They property sold very close to the valuation I had been given and was progressed efficiently all the way through to completion with Verene giving me regular updates throughout. Thank you and look forward to working with you again in future.

GoogleFrom the first moment we booked a viewing every single person was extremely helpful. They shown us so many different flats / houses and was able to confidently tell us information about each. They explained everything so clearly and made sure we understood everything before even booking the property. They are so thoughtful as they take things into consideration which made booking the property so much easier. Ive never known a company to be so helpful! I would highly recommend going to them when booking a property.

GoogleI lived in a house let by Danvers along with 8 other students last year.
Initially we felt at ease signing the contract as we had seen the property and were assured by the friendly staff of the condition of the house being sufficient prior to the beginning of our tenency.
Things started to go downhill quickly though, the first issue we had concerned a 4 hour deep cleanse we were promised before the start of the new school year. As one of us was in Leicester over summer doing resits, they were in when the cleaners came. They cleaned for at most 1 hour and never came back. This left a lot of things like mould, cobwebs, stains and dust that we had to take care of ourselves.
The second letdown came soonsafter. We were assured that a company was going to come and remove all the scrap from the basement so we could use it as we saw fit. This never happened though, so for the whole year it served as a scrapheap for students who had long been and gone.
Various other problems occurred the longer we lived there as the condition of the property was truly awful. Maintenance calls were made on average every 2 weeks as fuses would break (we called nationalgrid staff and they had to come and repair it 'urgently' in their words), power would stop and so would water.
On one specific occasion we had an issue with the power that left us in the dark. We inquired as to what to do as we had stores of food (probably £300 at least) that were quickly going rotten. The advice from Danvers was to put the issue on a maintenance form and wait 3 days for an answer.
This caused us much frustration as the issue meant we couldn't cook, our food was wasted, we couldn't shower and we couldn't use any power at all.
The situation was urgent and we don't feel like Danvers took our concerns seriously so we ended up having to go to the landlord directly and get an electrician called in. If it wasn't for him we would've been living like cavemen for possibly the best part of a week.
Other times we would fill in maintenance forms detailing minor things easily fixable, and would have no response even after several forms being submitted.
Overall we went into the agreement feeling assured by the staff of our tenancy. I feel our trust in them was quickly weakened by broken promises. Our relationship with them continued to deteriorate as they seemed to pass on any responsibility they had, which made us feel helpless and poorly treated.
As students who had never experienced leasing before, I'm disappointed that our experience with Danvers couldn't have been a better one.
I know that managing property all over the city must be a tough job and I am grateful for Danvers leasing us the property. Despite what I've said, the staff are very friendly people and I have nothing against them. My problems however, lie with the management of situations, the inefficient communication and the overall seemingly passive attitude.
I tried to make this criticism constructive and I sincerely hope that Danvers can improve from this feedback by providing a better service for future students.
