The team at Bridgfords have just sold my property in Horsforth in a week. Their advice on market was great, and we had 16 viewings in 5 days and and had 7 interested parties. They recommend their solicitors who were efficient, quick and very knowledgeable. Helen and the team held our hands all the way through the process and id recommend anyone give them a call for a chat. they were great!

Can't recommend using bridgfords as a letting agent. Took us over 8 weeks to get our deposit back as our property needed a light clean. They held onto over £1200 of our money until the landlord responded to them which took months. Couldn't get through to them on the phone and would receive an email response 7-14 days after making contact each time. Poor quality of procedures in place and little consideration for giving tenants their deposits back within the usual 10 day timeframe.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality

I had my first experience of letting a flat with Bridgfords over the last year and all I have to say is positives! From the moment we signed for our flat to the moment we moved out they were extremely helpful. They set us up with a bill organising company which meant when we moved in all of our bills were already sorted and the move was absolutely seem less. Whenever we had a query over our time as tenants they were more than willing to help us, whenever we rang them with any issues they were more than happy to help and made us feel more than welcome. Overall, I just couldn’t recommend Bridgfords enough, they will cater to your every need and make your home feel even more homely if that’s even possible!

Avoid at all costs if you are a tenant. You will notice the majority of the positive reviews are from landlords as tenants are treated terribly. Accused me of not paying rent (when I had done) and hounded me relentlessly for weeks over this until they eventually found it. When you try to call they very rarely answer and when they do are generally rude and dismissive. If you do need to call I would advise choosing the phone option that says you are a landlord or looking to sell as this seems to be answered much more rapidly. I paid over £20k in rent and went out of my way to keep the flat in good condition, only for the landlord to charge extortionate cleaning and repair fees for things that were already spotless or were not damaged when I moved out. It also took almost 6 weeks for the landlord to outline the deductions from the deposit which is a breach of the deposit scheme agreement. They are happy to spend weeks sitting on your deposit and ignoring your emails when you ask for it back as they know most of us who are renting aren't fortunate enough to be able to survive without that money for very long and will eventually have to give in to their outrageous demands. My emails to the property manager would go many weeks unanswered or just ignored altogether. Also the property descriptions need to be taken with a pinch of salt. Our 'south facing balcony perfect for sunny evenings' was perfectly north facing and overlooked getting no sunshine at all. Their only priority is rent being paid to landlords and I would stay well away if you are looking to rent.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality

Myself and my husband went to Bridgfords - Leeds branch today to look at renting a property. The office/reception is very inviting and welcoming as were the staff. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we got the chance to view several properties that meet our needs after explaining our family/work commitments and length of time wanting to rent out a property as well as our budget. We left feeling very confident and happy with lots of choice and information. We look forward to our future and Bridgfords have made this possible having taken away the stresses we had.

We have been looking for apartments in Leeds for about two weeks and just in one day we found one that is really good. Thomas Henderson, the agent who found apartments for us, gives us all information about the area and fees, like council tax. Definitely recommend.

Bridgfords have went from denying reviewers are customers to now not replying at all. Just goes to show how awful a company they are that the branch manager deactivates her LinkedIn to hide from any accountability for her consistently lying to sell properties. She calls herself a “landlord” from the stolen proceeds of scammed customers.

Hi Xia. Thank you for your review. It is absolutely correct that we do not recognise you as a customer alongside many of the recent negative reviews. Interestingly these reviews are from accounts with no previous review history. Additionally, they have unnecessarily targeted an individual and continue to do so. If you genuinely have had a poor service experience then of course feel free to contact me at review@countrywide.co.uk and we will happily investigate this. Thank you, Graham, Customer Relations.

Avoid this agency at all costs. Don’t pick the phone up, don’t call back after leaving multiple messages and don’t respond the emails. Trying to purchase a property is next to impossible with an unresponsive team. Don’t waste your time!

Terrible communication, valuations and organisation.

We sold our flat with Bridgfords Swinton and the experience with them was terrible from start to finish. They over-valued our property by £15,000, meaning that when our buyers applied for their mortgage they refused to give them their full amount, causing us to have to sell the property for £15,000 less as we didn’t have the time to put the property back in the market due to our chain. We had further issues with our buyers’ mortgage application causing a huge delay in the sale, and we actually ending up initially losing our forward purchase due to this. Throughout this whole nightmare Bridgfords were absolutely useless. We told them time and time again to call my partner instead of me, due to our professions, and they constantly ignored this and rang me. We had to deal with our buyers directly as Bridgfords had very little communication with either of us, and would actually ring us to ask for an update on our buyers situation! Causing us more stress and an extra party to deal with and update. Whenever we spoke with Bridgfords they had absolutely no idea what was going on and couldn’t keep track of any part of the sale. They were by far more of a hinderance than a help. They also didn’t conduct any showings of our flat themselves (as they had initially sold to us) and we had to do every showing as whenever we asked them they said they were busy. They charged us £2,200 for the pleasure of all of this.Overall, if we ever come to sell again we will be sure to steer clear of Bridgfords and would highly advise others do the same.

Left our property (45 McClure House, Leeds Dock) end of June 2019 - the flat was in a nicer condition when we left than when we moved in (we painted several walls and cleaned every corner of the flat like if it was ours). Got the full deposit back only in mid September after numerous calls and emails, and despite having the confirmation our check out had been successful start of July. Additionally, we are still due money as we paid rent until mid July but the property was rented to new tenants before our contract end date. The reimbursement was agreed with the landlord and the property manager end of May. Overall, a remarkably unsatisfactory end of tenancy experience !!

Dont Waste Your Time

I had a very bad experience with one of their estate agent in cheadle hulme. Be aware of Omara, she views you the property and stands still and doesn't even puts up an effort to speak or show the property. A pure lack of training and wonder how bridgfords keep a check? On top, if there's other properties to see, they'd give you excuses and never deliver what they promise, delays on delays. I guess barely they have good agents and mostly its all bad. Its pitty to know what such companies has such employee who works as if they are forced to do so.

**DO NOT USE THEM** if I could give -10 star I would. Worst estates agents ever, they will try and get all your deposit even if you leave the house or flat in really good condition, they are so expensive and they will never answer your calls or emails. Defenetly not recommended at all and if you do use them make sure you take 100 pictures of the property the day that you move in and keep them for the day that you leaving! **WORST ESTATE AGENTS**

I signed a new lease on a property on Saturday the 7th of September in leeds. This was a furnished property and all details revealed as cleaned to a good standard throughout. When I was left with the keys I realised only the places the eye could see were sort of cleaned. The apartment was extremely filthy. Some of the furnishings which had been there on viewing had been removed e.g the couch had been replaced with an old dirty one. I pulled back curtains and there was dirt and dust which looked like it had collected over 6 months. It was so dirty when I tried to get close to photograph it I was left breathless due to the spores on there. The mattress had suspicious stains on it. I would advise anyone taking up.a tenancy to go and sign the tenancy at the property to avoid the distress I have had to go through. Despite emails and calls I have had no response from Bridgfords since Saturday. I have called this morning and it goes to voicemail. They do not care as long as the tenancy has been signed and deposit paid They are aware I am not in the property as I immediately returned my keys as the accomodation was inhabitable. I felt deceived and was hugely disappointed as I was left having to pay for alternative accomodation after having paid over £2500 in deposit and first month rent. I am now left to seek legal advice as no one from their agency has called or tried to contact me either to apologise or offer any explanation.

Not a great experience

We went to Bridgfords because they got the best reviews on Google. OMG if they are the best, just imagine what the worst would be like. Gave us a very dodgy valuation 30% above what we eventually sold it for.

Had the pleasure of dealing with Chris when buying my first home. The service we received was incredible. His knowledge is first class, and his ability to explain legal terms to me in a way I understood was fantastic. No job was too big either, Chris helped me with my solicitors, the sellers agency and our own. Particularly as we edged closer to competition, I had put some serious strain on Chris, and he delivered every time. I honestly could not recommend him, or the company, enough. If you want to buy a house, use these.

The starting of my tenancy was not that good and there were lots of differences and emails and Phone calls but Bridgford really turned the table and provided me excellent service! I recently left LEEDS to Peterborough and would happily recommend anyone to them. Hannah and Dawn a big shout to both of them. They are fantastic individuals and had lots of patience. Both of them helped me tremendously. In the property Management dept Debra being an angel and she is always prompt and really helped me. I would definitely go back to them in any other cities if they are present there as a letting agents, hoping to see the same kind of service like Leeds team. Areas of Improvement : The Agents who showed the house was really quick and I didn't realized the noise and the disturbance that house can bring in while on the main road ( I was in a hurry to take a house and been on search for quite some time). The hand over agents didn't cleaned the house quite well and there were quite a number of observations. But all said and done, the team really worked with me and made me very happy. So this 5STAR rating goes to three of them :)

After leaving a rather pleasant review two weeks ago I am now having to change it. In the beginning Joe couldn't have done more for us therefore the edit to my review is not aimed at him or his colleagues in Cherry Tree Walk office, but rather at the property management team. We have had a couple of problems despite only moving in three weeks ago. We didn't have access to hot water and were unsure of the reason why. We reported it using their online system and received an email stating 'I am aware that you have recently moved into the property with the outgoing tenant not reporting any issue with the hot water supply to the property' and suggesting we read a manual that we didn't have. We have also had a window smashed, the cause is unknown, yet once reported it took several emails to get them to do something about it. I spoke with Mark regarding someone coming to measure it and I stated I would like to be at the property when this takes place. He agreed he would call me with a more accurate time when the workman will be attending. This did not happen. I didn't receive a phone call to ask if I would be available as previously agreed and I had stated to Mark that I would like to be in my home when someone comes in. I definitely would not recommend Bridgfords to anyone. I have also received an email regarding someone else's property which I find highly unprofessional!

Do not trust them, they will rob you blind

Do not under any circumstances go with these! They will steal from you. They never asked prior to us applying whether we would need a guarantor and because it became obvious we did after application they decided not to go with us and stole our holding deposit from us. We a family with a small child and a baby on its way and they refused to give us our money back. They wouldn't budge a little bit. Not even offer a little bit back. Horrible estate agent that will rob you blind. Do not trust them!!!!

Zero engagement for deposit return

My tenancy ended on 9th Jan and I emailed Bridgfords to ask how I go about getting my deposit back.Emailed again on 15th Jan saying there had been no reply received to my request. An agent did respond so say someone from the deposit team would be in touch.Chased again on 22nd Jan advising that nothing had been heard - to date zero response. They were very good when it came to take my money. There can be no excuse for the lack of engagement. A dispute has been raised with MyDeposit.

I went to a viewing, waited for 20 minutes and they did not turn up. Rang up to complain and the guy said somebody had already taken the property based on photos (no viewing). The branch manager then called me to say this was wrong and a Bridgfords agent had been at the property when I was waiting. Totally inept and willing to lie.

Absolutely rubbish service. It has been 5 months since i have moved out. I have had to chase and chase, sent multiple emails before getting one reply, sending multiple again and i get zilch. Made overseas calls to their agents and was informed that it would be sorted. 3 weeks after, still nothing, not a damn thing. I thought that i would be getting professional service given that they are a professional letting agency. What's the point of paying extra for such service?
