TrustpilotNot good for landlords
I am a long-standing landlord. Webbers in the South West appear to offer a good rental management service, but in reality it is sketchy and offers little for the money. Unless as a property owner you accept their 'chosen traders' estimates without question, they cannot / will not deal with the smallest issues. Actually they constantly delay response to tenants' issues, and no-one including Charlie in control of maintenance seems to have any practical understanding of property maintenance or the normal costs of basic maintenance work. The estimates they produce are routinely inflated. If you choose them to manage your property be aware you will either pay over the odds for maintenance or end up doing most of the management yourself anyway.

GoogleFound what thought was our perfect forever home, two visits, put in offer verbally with agent at 2nd visit, to be followed up after bank holiday. Did some online research in the interim. Discovered property had been advertised 4 yrs ago, and been on / off the market since. When questioned, agents originally said that was just the way these things sometime happen. I asked for more specific detail, it then emerged that there was a septic tank issue, but no clarity over what, also a boundary dispute had arisen. I only found these things out after really pushing hard for reasons why the property had not sold in 4 years.
These issues would have come up in the process, (one would hope) but only after I had spent money on survey / conveyancing. These issues should have been central to any discussion. Needless to say, walked away from the deal. Subsequently had a discussion with Regional Director, who recognised this episode as a learning opportunity for his team going forward.

So on Monday this week, I receive an email from Webbers Managing Director informing us all who signed up for property alerts etc that our personal data has been compromised via 3rd party organisations that are business partners of Webbers. We were promised an update within the next 24 hours? It is now Thursday 20:50pm… Radio silence. Not very reassuring if a Managing Director cannot even be bothered to provide some kind of follow up.

GoogleI was genuinely interested in purchasing a property and had almost 40% of the deposit saved, with a full-time job, side gig as an Uber driver, and a small business. Additionally, I had an AIP (Agreement in Principle) from Barclays of £99k. However, my experience with this agency was extremely disappointing.
I felt as though I was treated as though I was wasting their time. They didn’t ask for any details or attempt to understand my situation; instead, they repeatedly requested my name and contact information, promising a callback that never came. Despite my efforts to reach out the following day, my calls went unanswered.
I can’t help but wonder if this treatment was related to my age, which is a shame as I was serious and financially prepared.

Terrible service from Nathan over the past couple of weeks! Absolutely impossible to book a site view on their Launceston site. Wanted a Saturday visit, but apparently no one there to do it. Tried for a Monday visit, but two days later Nathan had still not come back to me. Running two businesses myself for 25 years now, there is no way I will be dealing with this company going forward. If the service is like this to start with, goodness only knows how I would go on if I had a problem with the NHBC 10 year warranty (Buildmark)!
