I write in behalf of my daughter who was letting through Simon Miller. They had to terminate their agreement early due to financial issues and agreement was reached with the landlord in this regard.However, they moved out just after lockdown commenced and were unable to remove their own fridge freezer that they had been using during their tenancy. Nothing they could do, just an unfortunate situation.They have offered to return to the property to remove it when lockdown is over, they have contacted the council who will charge £33 to collect from the front of the property.Despite this, Simon Miller want to charge her to return to the property to allow this to happen, even though they have little else to do during this current crisis, just trying to profit out of an unavoidable and unfortunate situation.Lyndsey in their lettings team has not seen sense or been reasonable in handling this matter and as a result their deposit remains un-returned despite them leaving the property over 3 weeks ago.They had to move out of the main bedroom at the property for the last 3 months of their tenancy due to roof damage, a water leak and resultant mould. No reduction in rent or any consideration to help, it took over a month for any work to commence, only constant calls eventually resulted in work being undertaken.My daughter has met all of her commitments, paid over the contracted amount for re-advertising costs to come out of their tenancy early (more profit to Simon Miller) and could not move the fridge freezer on the moving date due to the lockdown position.Seriously guys, practice what you preach, put ALL customers at the heart of what you do and drop the profit opportunity and get this matter resolved.
I'm sorry to hear the service provided from our Lettings team did not meet with your daughters approval on this occasion. I trust that the matter you refer to regarding the disposal of the fridge freezer was resolved to your satisfaction.

After viewing another property which ticked a lot of boxes, Sandra found me another which was the perfect fit and I happily moved in just before Christmas. This is why people hate estate agents. Put an offer in on a property to be told until we 1 - have our ID verified and 2 - speak to their mortgage advisors L&C they will not put our offer forward to the vendor!!! Firstly. We understand totally having ID checked however why did we need to speak to their mortgage team? Our offer wasn’t even put forward let alone accepted. We told them on several occasions we had our own mortgage advisor who has verified what we could borrow - they were not interested! We said we would get an AIP to prove it.. again not interested. Our offer wasn’t going anywhere until we had spoken to L&C! Sales targets.. all they cared about. What happened to customer service? As we loved the property I spoke to L&C and asked to be removed from all of their data... what happened today? I get sales emails from them. So they haven’t removed me. Disgusting service and totally understand how estate agents get a bad name. Have only used independent agents previously and they treat you like individuals. Simon Miller have a lot to learn! Wouldn’t go anywhere near them again!
I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service relating to your offer. Conducting AML (Anti Money Laundering) checks on perspective purchasers is a legal requirement and and must be undertaken. In relation to your financial position we have a duty to care to clarify a purchasers ability to finance any purchase. I apologise if you were unhappy with the manner in which task was undertaken and your request to be removed from L&C's database should have been adhered to. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at the Barming office especially to Greg and Isabella who were very helpful and I don't think I could have got through my house sale without them. It looked like that our house sale might fall through but with the help of the Barming office they made sure it didn't. They kept me in the loop at all times and kept everyone in our chain upto date and communicated clearly to everyone. I used Simon Miller Barming as I had met a previous manager when I viewed a house a few years ago, unfortunately this manager had since left, but I thought I would give them a go. To get my business they were very accommodating and friendly, but when viewing started coming in, they were less attentive. I had to phone them back after a viewing to get feedback and seemed surprised when I phoned them. And when they got formal feedback they put it on the 'system' they have before telling you. It seems very inpersonal.One of the agents (who hadn't seen my house before doing a viewing) turned up at the same time as the viewer, meaning that he had no prior knowledge of my house before showing someone round. It felt very unprofessional.Several times I asked what action was being taken to find buyers, and I was told mail outs and call out where being down and I would receive feedback for these. I never received feedback.When I decided to leave an go back to my original agent, I received no response to my email asking for my property to be removed, it was simply taken down. After two further emails requesting for my keys to be delivered back to me, neither of which was responded to, my other half had to collect them.I had recommend SM to my sister and because of her location, she got the Maidstone branch which she would recommend, but it seemed that I lucked out.Overall very disappointed and wouldn't recommend.

They were very easy to contact and would always return your call as soon as possible. They were very professional, courteous with the human touch using our Christian names and we're always well informed about who we were. Special recognition must go to Jeremy Bancroft, Branch Manager. He showed great concern and was brilliant when things got a little stressful; he was definitely that friendly voice on the phone. Followed by the full Compliment of staff at the Larkfield Branch visiting Our home just as buyers Might we felt important By them all. They now having an Insight of our home could explain andChoose the Right possible client. Our home had viewings from the next day and on the 15th day an offer was received!!! Making a good first impressions is essential in my opinion. It makes perfect sense that the sales team visit all our properties when they first come to the market as it allows them to speak confidently and enthusiastically to prospective buyers. I understand we secured you a buyer quickly but clearly the job wasn't done until exchange of contracts took place.
