I've been a Tennant with them for a year and it has been the most stressful and miserable year of my life. To begin with, the house came with many faults (broken shelves, broken wardrobe, broken blinds, broken kitchen table) which were completely ignored despite 7 months of constant nagging. They have only responded to the issue when we withheld our rent for a month. After the hellish tenancy ended, they didn't want to give our deposit Back (1080 pounds) and we needed to take it through a 5 months long journey through hell with a deposit security company to get it back. B&M are highly irresponsible and unprofessional, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

I'm not surprised to find other tanents have left negative comments about the property management. we also had our worst experience we ever had when we had things to fix in the flat. Basically when we had something broken in the flat, we never had anyone who would follow up the issues in a reasonable timely manner. It was very painful to log tickets, call the property management, and send numerous emails to chase every time. we had the old boiler in the flat stop working in December last year and we were left to live without hot water for two entire winter months! we did everything we can to cooperate, we have email evidences that we were left unanswered for days without progress to resolve the problem. we had to withhold our rent to finally get the boiler fixed in February. so eventually we decided to exercise the break clause and move out earlier, and then it came to the nightmare of getting our deposit back. It took more than 3 months to finally get them to release our deposit, again numerous calls and emails in the process. I don't know whether they pass our request onto the landlord in a reasonable time frame or the landlord just don't reply the agent, but for quite a few times only when I had to call them, they would reply that they are waiting on the landlord to reply, even after they have promised to action reasonably. You can imagine the frustrations!!

I had the pleasure of dealing with the Kennington office for finding my next home. I was initially speaking to Nana who was extremely helpful with hearing my needs and very knowledgeable of the local area before passing me on to his colleague Maliha. I have to say having rented for a while now I was pleasantly surprised by Maliha's attitude and professionalism when dealing with myself and my search. She was extremely helpful and it never felt like a chore for her especially when it came to keeping me updated with properties and the process. I had previously had a bad tenant whom had misused my property, had significant rent arrears and I had a previous bad experience from a letting agency. So when Nana, Letting Branch Manager from Kennington approach me to let my property, I was very reluctant to use his services but he had such a caring, persuasive and professional approach I decided to give him a try. His help, support and advice was immense in getting my property refurbished and up to standard, to the extent the first tenant that viewed wanted it straight away and is now my tenant. The house finding process is one of the most stressful people can experience, especially when there are babies to look after and it’s your first home. The experience we had with Barnard Marcus (Kennington branch), and Katie in particular, has been highly positive from the beginning to the end. We had a considerable amount of viewings, and those were always dealt in a kind and prompt manner. They have also been really helpful when we had extra questions and we needed little extra favours. I sold my flat with BM. They were good at bringing round people for viewings and encouraging interest. Once we had an offer they had Julie Liles to assist with the progression through to exchange. I need 3 pages to explain my ongoing adventure with those agents. I passed my reference check, paid my deposit to the previous tenant and 2 months later I still have not signed the tenancy agreement and of course my deposit hasn't been acknowledged yet. I've chased them more times than I can remember, I don't get solid explanations about the delays. The issue is still ongoing. I would have never expected this situation. Do stay away for your own good...!

We have recently let a property from them, the have proven theselves to not only be incompetent, poorly trained and rude but worst of all they will LIE to you to seal a deal on a property. We have been lied to SO MANY TIMES, many of which we have only found out now we are moving in and paid deposits etc!! It has been a nightmare trying do business with someone you can't trust. Please don't have to go through this yourselveS- DON'T USE BARNARD MARCUS!

These people have taken a holding deposit from me of £500 for a property only to cancel the whole thing 24hrs after. Since then I have been fighting to get my deposit returned- its now been almost a week and still no sign of getting my money back. They wont reply to texts or calls. Appalling lack of professionalism or integrity mixed with utter contempt for the customer. Avoid at all costs.
