GooglePersonally I find flat hunting awful & do not particularly like dealing with estate agents. I was looking to let & dealt with Harry at the Kennington office, he was lovely, friendly, genuinely seemed like he cared, showed initiative & always did what he said he was going to do.

GoogleHighly disappointing service which resulted in a considerable loss of time and money. I was interested in a cash-only purchase for a flat in Brixton. I was told that the reason it was cash purchase was because the seller needed to make a quick sale. It was only upon paying for a survey that I found out that the property was cash only because mortgage lenders would not lend on it because of the concrete structure. At no point was this communicated by the agents at Barnard Marcus, they only seemed concerned with pushing through with the sale. I lost hundreds because of the survey and a deposit with a solicitors in addition to the several weeks in time.

GoogleBarnard Marcus Kennington Office, and especially Grace Polle was a pleasure to work with when finding a flat and going through the process. They were professional and sympathetic. A small present box was provided by them when I moved in, which was really appreciated. I recommend them.

GoogleDarren and his team at Barnard Marcus have marketed and sold a property for me and it has been a pleasure dealing with them. They managed to get me a quick sale and guided me comfortably through the whole process. From day one Darren has kept me updated by phone and email and has spelt things out in terms that made everything easy to understand. I highly recommend Darren and his team and would definitely use them again.

GoogleI had a viewing today at Salamanca Place, and Barnard Marcus wasn’t the most polite person. He made me feel stupid when I questioned the appliances and the broken window. Regarding shared ownership, he strictly said no to using my own mortgage provider (current bank) and only insisted on going with his recommendations. This was a long discussion, even though I was advised over the phone that I could use my own broker before meeting with one of his colleagues.

With regards to the questions you asked, we are sorry the branch team did not have this information to hand, but these were questions that needed to be specifically answered by the seller. They did advise they needed to speak to them and would then come back to you. I know that this response made you irate at the time, sometimes there is information the team need to acquire from our sellers first. There is no issues at all about using your own mortgage advisor, as we advised on the phone, what the branch were questioning was whether your broker would be able to get the same rate available to our in house consultant. We offer a free, no obligation comparison service and this is what was offered to you. There was no advice given that you could not use your own mortgage advisor. GoogleI just moved with the huge help of Julie Liles, a fab sales progresser at Barnard Marcus. I had forgotten what a nightmare buying and selling houses in England can be, so it was a huge relief and help to have Julie on my buy side. She was calm, committed and pretty much always available. GoogleTerrible agency, an agent called Jeordie who had just come for a viewing while I wasn't at home, let the front door open, upon my arrival I also found the French window to the garden open, all the lights on and despite having explicitly requested to wear shoe covers or remove shoes have entered the house with shoes on. I can only be very dissatisfied and not recommend this agency to anyone because the blame lies with the agent but also with her manager who probably didn't teach her how to work. Unfortunately just to leave this review I must put a star at least but I'm not giving any star to this agency.

GoogleJordy may be new to the Barnard Marcus crew but you wouldn't know. She was incredibly helpful and friendly and was always quick to respond. No request was out of the question no matter how much of a reach it may of seemed. Within 24 hours of seeing the property on Rightmove, she got our offer accepted by the landlord despite multiple other offers. It was a shame we got accepted so quickly because I would've loved to work with Jordy for longer!

Being completely new to selling in the UK market, they took their time to provide sage consult, and a reassuring pace that focussed on getting us brochure-ready and then put us "live" on demand, when we felt ready.
