GoogleI recently had excellent help and assistance from Alice Creighton - Client Manager. She sorted a problem very quickly and efficiently for me related to some electricity bills that had been sent to me in error rather than to a tenant. Should I ever need to consider a local Estate Agent, based on this experience, I will definitely contact Humphrey and Brand regarding a proposed Sale or Letting.

GoogleCosts for rental agreements and other paperwork on signing contract and checks are higher than any other estate agent. The flat we moved into required us to clean despite this estate agent saying it had be professionally cleaned. On moving in the cooker was broken as was the fridge which took 3 weeks to replace and no keys for the car park so we could use our parking space for a month after moving in. Staff constantly stating they can enter the property for checks without consent from tenants. Staff unwilling to discuss problems over the phone, they just hang up on you. At the end of the tenancy they held on to an over payment of rent refusing to give the money back until 1 month later, and removed £400 from the deposit for cleaning despite the fact that we had cleaned the property to a better standard then we received it. My advice is not to use them as your estate agent for any reason
If we had delivered this level of service I would be very upset and disappointed with our performance and would understand your anger. However, this account of events is mostly exaggerated or simply incorrect. The same clerk from the independent inventory agency attended your check in and out, and confirmed that a professional clean HAD been done by the landlord before you moved in (which you signed off on), but not by you when you moved out. This is why the landlord quite justifiably withheld those costs from the security deposit and why, when the case went to arbitration, the independent adjudicator found in the landlord’s favour and awarded them costs. It’s very simple: if you don’t leave a property as you found it, you could well face costs to put things right. As for the other issues; the overpaid rent was refunded within 5 days of you sending in your account details (and not one month later as stated in your review); the cooker wasn’t broken and simply needed the time setting, and we never once entered without your consent (we're not sure how we could have been "constantly stating" we could gain access while at the same time being unwilling to talk on the phone.) Unfortunately the previous tenants, who moved out only 48 hours before you moved in, did not return the key to the car park. This required another to be ordered from the managing agents for the building which did indeed take three weeks and we can understand your frustration, however that was out of both ours and the landlord’s control.

GoogleUpdated... Laura called both me and my partner to apologise profusely and iterated this was the exception rather than the rule. It’s not the mistake that matters, it’s how it’s rectified and to Laura’s credit a personal apology like this is nice to hear. While my experience leaves me with lingering doubts, Laura has promised to ensure a higher level of service should we decide to use them in the future. I’m hoping this will be the case., , , , , , , , , Had a viewing booked for a property to rent: 1. Travelled 30 minutes each way to view the property. 2. Stood outside the property for 20 minutes waiting for them in the freezing cold (with my pregnant partner). 3. No message or phone call to let us know they were running late or otherwise. Turns out the property had been let two days earlier and they failed to let us know. Incredibly poor management and unprofessional. Reading the other reviews on here, we may have dodged a bullet. As a landlord myself, I won’t be using them for my properties if this is the level of service to be received by prospective and actual tenants. Just not good enough.
At Humphrey and Brand we pride ourselves in delivering exceptional customer service and clearly, on this occasion, we have failed to provide such a service. We understand your extreme annoyance at having had a 30 minute journey to see a property, to then be kept waiting only to find out the property had already been let must have been very frustrating. This is not the care and attention we like to provide to our valued customers and apologise profusely that you have experienced this. This was an oversight by a member of staff and we have addressed this with them as this is not the standard or expectation we have in regard to the conduct of our employees. We thank you for your feedback and I am pleased to have spoken with your partner to apologise personally. As evidenced from our large number of 5 star reviews we pride ourselves on offering an high levels of customer satisfaction. We do care about our customers and always go the extra mile to ensure that they are 100% happy with the service that they receive from us. Again, I apologise unreservedly and do hope that you will use our services in the future and welcome the opportunity to restore your faith in Humphrey and Brand. For now, we wish you all the best with your search for your new home.

GoogleI’ve been using H&B for a couple of years now and my recent letting was dealt with by Jazmine in the Lettings Team. I can honestly say that I can relax with a property in their hands. I have always been pleased with the tenants H&B have found for us. They have always had offers within a few days and I believe them when they say they try to match their potential tenants to their clients. Our new tenants have moved in and having now met them I’m once again impressed and grateful to the Lettings Team. Can’t recommend this agent enough. Truly a superior experience to many others I have worked with.

GoogleWe have been really happy with Humphrey and Brand in relation to our search for a flat rental. They really listened to our requirements and showed us a number of suitable properties. My partner and I have found a new flat which we have just moved into. The whole exprience from search to moving in has been seamless and the communication was excellent. I had my house on with another agent where it was not selling and I was being pushed to accept a low offer but Laura took my property on commission free and sold it in less than a month for the price I wanted for it. They have provided a friendly and efficient service, taking care of all issues with the minimum of fuss. They have found me very reliable and long-term tenants and have ensured that my property was taken care of in my absence. Their fees were extremely competitive and they were always able to offer the services of trusted tradesmen. At the beginning of 2018 I put my property on the market with Humphrey and Brand. They did a wonderful job advising me and in attracting prospective buyers. They demonstrated a very high level of commitment to me as their client, in achieving the price that I wanted. Having recommended the solicitor I used, they still did not hesitate to be active in fielding and answering the multitude of questions that came their way from the buyer, rather than sitting back and letting the lawyers drag the sale out any longer than necessary. They were also great at keeping me up to date with progress. I cannot recommend this company enough - both for property management and for property sales.

They found us buyers for our flat in record time at a time that the market was quite wobbly.
