TrustpilotAbsolute joke of a company
Absolute joke of a company. House was supposed to be sold to us on July 2022, we are still waiting for legal completion. We get 0 communication from anyone within the sales or aftersales team, they are dodging our lawyer and refuse to disclose any information. Countryside seems to be deliberately delaying the process to force us to back out of the sale so they can list it again at a higher price. This has happened to other sales within the project that other people have backed out of. DO NOT BUY WITH THEM.

TrustpilotGreat after-service
I moved in last year and throughout the process, I’ve been impressed with the excellent after-service. A special mention goes to Andrea Smith, the customer coordinator at Vistry Group. She always responds promptly to emails and provides consistent follow-ups. Initially, I was concerned that switching to Vistry Group could lead to issues but I can now saying that there’s no reason to worry. A big thank you to Andrea and her team for their efforts in helping to fix my home!

We worked with two sales reps on site for nearly two years in total, from seeing the site and knowing what house type we wanted, then having to wait until the phase they were on became available, and finally the six months of build.

TrustpilotCountryside Partnership Property - A Nightmare - Do not buy
Think seriously before buying a property from Countryside. I definitely regret doing so and wish I had been warned to avoid the company. In August 2022 I purchased a 2 bedroom flat from Countryside and have been experiencing difficulties with the Customer Service Department since completion. The Sales Team were excellent. The 'Snagging List' was lengthy, it seemed that the flat had been 'thrown up. The worse problem encountered was the concrete floor which was not level or flat. There were potholes in it. As a result, my representative was told to vacate the flat and not return for at least 48 hours. Alternative accommodation was not provided. As a gesture of goodwill instead of laying the original Amtico flooring, carpet was laid. I later discovered that replacing with carpet was a cheaper option. There were numerous other faults.I have been emailing Customer Services since October 2022 but without success. I receive the usual standard response stating my issues will be investigated. How long does will it take to resolve? The walls and floors appear to be paper thin. Conversations and footsteps can be heard from the flat above. There have been other faults since providing the initial 'Snagging List'. I, unfortunately, am confident further faults will require to be remedied.Avoid Countryside i wish I had.

TrustpilotAVOID AT ALL COSTS!
If I could give a minus, I would. This company doesn’t even deserve 1 star. DON’T BUY FROM COUNTRYSIDE! Sales experience was pleasant, quick to answer any questions, very knowledgeable - then you sign that dotted line! No contact throughout the whole build process, only generic updates that were sent to all. No one answers the phones, only emails every now and then. Completion was delayed from July to September with no real reason provided. Completion date was stressful, waited until 3.30pm for our keys when the property was legally ours from 12.20pm, but again, they lied and said they didn’t have the completion funds, when really the property hadn’t been professionally cleaned (when they had advised this would be done the day before moving in) The builds are quite literally thrown together, no real craftsmanship or attention have gone into them. Snags a’plenty! Customer service (aftercare) are a complete joke - half of the team have left (not surprised!) We’ve now been left with leaking, unsealed windows which have wind howling through them. Can’t get through to anyone on the phone. Shame on Countryside - awful company who I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. This review is a drop in the ocean compared to how much I could write. COWBOY BUILDERS - AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!

GoogleWe bought our property and moved in June 2022. The quality of the build was good. However, we have had a few issues including cracking (more than settling cracks), severe creaking flooring (they refuse to fix) and mortar left in our plumbing causing blockages and damage. They removed the mortar but that was it.
But the final thing that has tipped it over the edge is the safety of the development. We have zero pavements on our road and blind corners when pulling out. This is severely dangerous. They have acknowledged how dangerous this is and initially agreed to put in a mirror however after months of waiting they informed us it had been ordered and would be fitting it shortly. Weeks later then then email to say they now won't fit it. This has led me to believe we have been lied to about the mirror the whole time.
Safety is not a priority for countryside (now vistry) and sadly it will likely result in someone being hit and seriously injured.
I sadly would not recommend soley on the basis of how dangerous it is to walk my infant child down the road or leave the road without a collision.

TrustpilotDont buy with Countryside
Service is amazing when they are chasing you for your money, once the signatures have been received they cut all contact. We are currently in the process of purchasing a home at one of their developments in the North West and I can say that our experience has been horrible after we have submitted the mortgage papers etc. When you are in the starting process of purchasing a property, they are truly amazing and will help you at every step. Once you make your decisions, that willingness to help abruptly stops. We were supposed to move in in June, which got moved back to August, then September and now possibly 2023! We have had 0 communication and had to find out by ourselves (5 days before legal completion) that the permit for the building project was expired and they did not file for an extension or a new permit with the Council. Countryside did not inform us but rather sent us a letter in July saying that everything was on schedule which was one big lie. This whole situation has now led to months of delays and our mortgage offer expiring, having to pay for a new rental property and putting most of our furniture in storage. There has been no efforts made by Countryside to help or give information to clarify the situation. The aftersales team are impossible to reach, sales agents are dodging our calls and are leaving us in the dark completely. At this point we have to bite the bullet as we're already invested in to the project but please make very sure what you are getting in to with Countryside as they will leave you in the dark.Update 30-09-2022 :As expected, no replies back from Countryside to ANY of our questions. We've just got a letter stating that they are now expecting completion for JANUARY 2023 which is 7 months beyond the first date we were given. There is still no mention of any compensation and the aftersales team / legal team are still dodging our calls and emails. ShockingUpdate 05/12/2022Just got word that Countryside has failed to set up a meeting with Cheshire East Council and we are looking at another 3 months delay for a grand total of 9 months delay. We had to find this out ourselves as Countryside is ignoring our calls, emails as well as calls from our lawyer. Avoid this company at all costs

I bought a house in Middlebeck and have absolutely loved it! Customer service team were great pre and post purchase - big shoutout to Donna, Sarah and Liam and Arron who have reassured me with any questions or issues. On moving day we did have a slight delay but that was compensated for. Then we only had about 15 snags which were all sorted pretty quickly and mainly decorative. We did have one issue with drainage plans and layouts but again this has been rectified and remedial works in progress. I absolutely love the houses, love the spaciousness and the layout (I have a new Walton). Only top tip as with all new builds is don't underestimate the dust until any development is complete!

TrustpilotIf you want a stress-free life, avoid this company!
If you buy from Countryside then you may be one of the very lucky few that moves into a house with not that many major problems. Unfortunately, I’m one of the average buyers that now has a house full of on-going problems, how do Countryside deal with any major issues/problem? they simply ignore you. If you stand your ground with any snag/issue/problem they will shout, swear and threaten you. They will of course come back and carry out very simple jobs like running a paint roller over the walls but anything major they will simply ignore the problem and keep stalling you until you either forget or go away. Currently I have a window that has been fitted crooked, very loud creaking flooring in the upstairs of the house, loose tiles on the roof, large gaps between the soffit and the roof, a damaged kitchen due to the dishwasher not being plumbed in, large wide cracks are now appearing in the plaster work, my new build actually had a second-hand bath fitted, I could go on and list even more problems but I’m sure you get the picture. There is a shocking lack of professionalism from Countryside, the favourite saying from the customer service team is “We’ll need to check and call you back” this has been said to me on at least fifty occasions and not once have they ever called back. If the work and the build was carried out to a competent standard these could be really nice houses, but until UK Laws are strengthened and enforced companies like Countryside will continue to build bad houses and treat customers with total contempt.

TrustpilotNo Car Parking Space and FAKE promising
We bought a flat on Alma Estate Development. At the beginning, the Sales Team was amazing, the property was and is good. But for many residents, we were refused a Parking Space under the FAKE clame that all were sold out. Later on, after half year or so, in order for Countryside to sell the remaining flats, Car Parking Spaces were magically found and offered for free with last remaining flats, despite the last buyers openly tolled Countryside that they didn't need one, don't have a car and are not drivers. Now, some of these residents, ask £250/month parking renting fee...Living in my area, mandatorily needing and having a car but not having a Parking Space, is insane! At the time of the flat purchase, it was promised that later on, a Parking Space will be offered, but after almost 4 years now, all our correspondence goes without ANY replies from Countryside. It looks like they just DON'T CARE anymore...We are VERY DISAPOINTED in Countryside now.

Special thanks to Lisa Wilkinson who has been great from start to finish. Always on the phone if we needed anything and kept us well informed every step of the way. Also thanks to Billie Cannon (progress northern) for going above an beyond in the final few days before completion help get us over the line. Our experience with purchasing a property with countryside properties has been brilliant from start to finish and it's all thanks to Victoria Harrold at the Blue Bell Manor site in Telford. She has been so very helpful, informative and understanding of our queries/concerns. At every opportunity she has gone above and beyond for us and we very grateful to her. The property itself has been completed to a high standard with usual snags but Vicky and the on site manager Ross, have been amazing in fixing the snags as soon as they are raised. TrustpilotNever been so happy with a house!
Honestly, out of all the developments we went to see e.g Gleeson, Mcdermott, TW, Countryside have been the best by far and the houses are amazing! I want to give a shoutout to the staff at Ribblesdale Place & Head office who have helped me, what was the most stressful thing I have ever done! Anne, Billie, Tom & Simon (on site)Anne has been fantastic from start to finish, no pressure selling, no empty promises, always happy and made the process so much more memorable, thank you so much! Billie at headoffice has been an absolute star, I had issues with my financial advisor and she helped me all the way through it (we we're nearly cancelling the whole house) but Billie managed to sort all the issues and always kept me updated throughout, she definately deserves a promotion! Now onto the house, completion day... we could not be happier with our home, people always have a bad thing to say about new builds but honestly, forget all the negative reviews ect, out of all builders and development, Countryside are number 1 in my eyes. The fit and finish on these houses are exceptional. No dodgy plastering, no unpainted walls. Yes we found a few things but Tom & Simon (site managers) managed to put these right straight away and have always popped round asking if everything is ok and always chatted to us when we are out and about, really friendly bunch! Thank you so much Countryside & Staff at Ribblesdale Place Accrington, our dream home has now become a reality!

Trustpilot***Do not buy from this builder***
We recently reserved a property at Countryside Wolsey park in Essex and have never experienced such discrimination and poor customer care from a business. As with most new builds we were given the 28 day reservation deadline, we had our initial agreement in principle from the lender but during this time our mortgage offer was unfortunately declined- we proceeded to find another lender and worked day and night to get this done so that we wouldn’t lose out on our dream home. Unfortunately we didn’t get everything in place with a lender within the 28 day time frame so our reservation was cancelled and they re-marketed the property. Once back on the market, the tone from the two ladies in the sales office completely changed- they turned into two very unfriendly, unhelpful & very cold people. We found a lender, got an agreement in principle & I called the sales office to let them know that we would like to re-reserve as the property was still available. I spoke to the sales team on the Monday who said she’d need to ask her manager In head office but she informed me that all management were in meetings on Mondays and that she was off on Tuesday & Wednesday so if I don’t hear back from her not to panic. In the meantime she asked us to contact their associated broker for an affordability test (even though we had the AIP & nothing had changed financially from before) stupidly I did all of this. Sent all documents to the broker, who I didn’t hear back from- he was clearly being informed of their intentions. Turns out they had some interest in the property on the Wednesday and they were letting this person reserve the property on the Saturday- even though I had asked to do this on the Monday prior. When we found out the new buyer was coming in on Saturday to fill out relevant paperwork my question was why were we not allowed to reserve first?! I spoke to Another member of the sales team on this occasion and she claimed to know nothing of our interest in the property. Somehow I don’t believe that they don’t communicate, especially on the potential sale of a 5 bedroom house. I have never dealt with someone so cold and inhuman. Here we were- front of the queue, solicitor for purchase appointed, AIP in place, proof of funds, emotionally attached to the new home and she couldn’t have cared less. They had taken the decision upon themselves that they didn’t want us to buy this house even though had we have walked in the door as new customers on the Monday we would have been allowed to reserve the property there and then. All it would have taken was for this team member to inform the new buyer that there had been a communications error and someone had wanted to reserve the plot first, to at least ask management how this can be resolved, but she point blank refused to have any compassion or understanding in the situation and in her words “it’s black and white here, I’m reserving this property for these people today”.We were discriminated against- due to something that happened previously & something that we have worked so hard to fix. As much as we had tried to rectify it, it would have never been good enough. Who’s to say these new buyers won’t have an issue with their mortgage?! Certain things stick with you for life & the way that we have been treated is something that we will never forget. I really hope those ladies as well as management realise the impact these business decisions have on peoples real lives. We proceeded to look at another property by a different developer on the same site and when I explained our situation the sales team- their words were “I bet you’re talking about ****-we’ve had so many people say how rude & cold she was so they’ve come to buy from us” Countryside- that’s the face of your business there! So here we are, no home to move in to with a four month old baby in tow. Safe to say we won’t be back for phase 2 after this awful experience. All they care about is money, not people.

TrustpilotHarvest Grove - Nothing short of great!
Been dealing with Countryside Properties for over a year now. We bought our dream home from Countryside in September at Harvest Grove in Brinsford. The sales team Bethany, Victoria and Pam were all nothing short of fabulous. Extremely knowledgeable, courteous and most importantly, patient! The best sales team we could’ve dealt with! The site team, Craig, Reece, Matt and Phil have made a stunning home. The build quality is second to none and the attention to detail is not to be missed. The aftercare from the site team is brilliant as well, can’t do enough for you and endeavour to get all issues sorted as soon as possible not matter how big or small. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the customer care managers named Chris who personally introduced himself and was very genuine and wanted to help us with anything we needed. Overall an incredible service start to finish from Countryside, we couldn’t recommend them enough. The specification, build quality and customer service shows they are more than worthy of their 5* award from the NHBC. Countryside should be proud of all of the above members of staff mentioned, they are all a credit to the business. We just want to say a massive thank you to the entire team who have helped us make our dream a reality!
