A recent new tenant who turned out to be very pleasant was found very quickly. The previous Tenancy Find was supposed to be for two tenants in the flat whereas in fact there were three and I was not happy about that.

I have nothing but praise for the way in which John D Wood went about finding tenants for our property and helped us prepare the house for rental. They responded promptly to all queries, paperwork was dealt with quickly and efficiently, and Rupert Simmonds in particular always on hand to help when required. Incredibly professional all round.
Thank you for your brilliant comments and 5* review! I will make sure your kind words are made known to our local team and their Regional Director. Best wishes, Scott @ Customer Relations.

Had a great experience with Jay, who showed me several relevant apartments and was very personable, responsive, and pro-active. Ultimately opted for an apartment listed by a different agency, but that was certainly not for lack of effort or faith in Jay. Would look him up if I were apartment searching again and would definitely recommend him to others.
Thank you Mette, your review and recommendation are greatly appreciated. Best wishes, Mark

Zara Merali at the Notting Hill branch has been amazing and compassionate in helping me work out a financial situation with the property I rent out. She's been very responsive, and made me feel comfortable, as well as clearly explaining my situation to me when I'd made an accounting error.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism
Thank you for your thoughtful 5* review! I will make sure your kind words are passed on to the local team. Best wishes, Lucy, Customer Relations.

Excellent Experience
John D Wood & Co. recently helped me to sell my property and I found them extremely professional and very helpful. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and when a storm took down a tree and demolished the hedge, they immediately got a chap along to sort it out.Their communication regarding feedback from potential buyers was superb. I never had to chase them for information and I would recommend them to anyone wishing to sell a property.

Parsons Green Team
The team were excellent in helping me recently find and move into a property with short deadlines. Nicole was especially helpful in ensuring everything moved quickly and seamlessly. Would highly recommend.

I had a really good experience with my move, helped enormously by Radi at John D Wood in Notting Hill. He was extremely efficient, detailed, prompt and responsive. It's been the least stressful move I've ever made, and that's been 10 in the last 18 years. I just hope I don't need to move again for rather a long time...
Wonderful to read Sarah that our team, especially Radi, made the process of moving this time so stress-less and you found him and the team attentive, efficient and prompt. I do hope you choose John D Wood in the future, should you ever need another stress free move. Best wishes, Scott.

We recently re-signed for our amazing property in NH. We unfortunately faced a few issues with renewal but the property managers/letting agents were fantastic at resolving. Zara, especially was key to getting the process moving quickly - she's super lovely and professional.
Many thanks for your marvellous 5* review. Best wishes, Lucy, Customer Relations.

Dishonourable
After we had our offer accepted Sally Behan in Weybridge called to tell us we had been gazumped. We increased our offer above asking price but were told they wouldn’t sell to us. Turns out when the seller found out our name they decided not to sell to us for ‘personal reasons’When pushed about ‘personal reasons’ she then said that there was actually a cash buyer who offered asking price. That property remained on the market for 5 weeks after that before it said under offer. Friends of mine were able to call and make viewings during this time. Disappointing that a company owned by Skipton Building Society would behave like this. The honourable thing to do would be stop acting for the seller but the commission was clearly more important.

Agent not trustworthy
I was told John D Wood (Primrose Hill) were a well respected local agency with whom I could sell my property, and they seem, on the surface, very professional. But I grew to dread calls from my allocated agent - a smooth talking, cocky young man - he seemed to constantly be on the side of the buyer, not mine. He told a couple of utter lies about offers coming in, he had a total lack of attention to detail, and eventually I ended up moving to a different agency where I had a much more pleasant experience. They may be on prime Primrose Hill high street, and have lovely properties for sale, but do not let that fool you! I just did not trust them. Go elsewhere.

Not valued as a buyer
We had a really stressful time as a buyer with JDW Esher. Details of the conditions of our offer we’re not passed onto vendor at all; when confronted with this when the transaction was at risk, it was glossed over / denied. We were also told a delayed completion was ‘impossible’. We ended up dealing direct with vendor, with a delayed completion, without issue. Got the feeling JDW were happy for us to lose out and simply switch to another buyer.

Terrible experience- J D Wood Summertown
Terrible experience dealing with the Letting team in OxfordI wanted to rent an apartment in Summertown, the lady agent has been extremely unprofessional, instead of solving my issues, this agent was rude and asked for the same information twice. Whenever I have a question, she would just shoot me down without checking with the landlord. She has been impolite and maybe she didn't think I am not a capable tenant - I ended up paying double for a nicer apartment!

Terrible experience with the manager at John D Wood Southfields
Terrible experience with the manager at the Southfields branch. To call him arrogant would be an understatement!I have now sold and bought property through this branch. Dealing with the same agent each time. I would rather give my property away than ever use him again. If he asked a question he expected an answer immediately. sometimes calling twice in one day and following up with emails. Bullying tactics and bickering with me over any decision that didn't suit him. He has no idea how to treat customers and suspect he has no one supervising his behavior. He's a disgrace to any company and should work in a back room where he has no contact with customers.

I wanted to give minus for the score
I wanted to give minus for the score, but I guess 1 is the lowest score permitted. I was looking for the room to rent, and finally found very nice flat. Before I can rent the room, I had to go through referencing process which was quite traumatic. They had the problem with my current landlord referencing; though I had provided my landlord's contact and they can make the direct contact to my landlord, they kept asking me for the document I didn't have. As the result, they changed the referencing platform and asked me to fill the landlord contact and my employer contact again. This time, they had the problem with contacting my employer (The funny thing was that they requested me to fill the form in evening and expected my employer to answer right away in the morning). Apart from that, unless they demand something from you, they will unlikely answer your e-mail. To be honest, this company treated me like I was begging to live in the room for free. On the bright side, I am glad that this is just for renting the room, not for buying the property. If you are the landlord or tenant, please stay away from this agency for your own good.

We love them and we were really impressed by Louna work. She was on top of her game every single day until we moved in ( let) - she was so helpful :) Will definitely come back to the agency once we ll be looking for a property to buy .
Thank you for your wonderful 5* review! Your kind words will be made known to our local team. Best wishes, Scott

High calibre agents
I'm the landlord of a family-owned flat in Chelsea, and have used JDW for our last two tenancies.Initially, it was clear that Ed had a better knowledge of our neighbourhood than the other agents we tried. Given JDW's reputation, their fees were more reasonable than we expected - yet surprisingly the asking price was higher. It was a no-brainer, and more surprisingly, they managed to secure this higher level of rent, rather than it being a pitch just to win the business. When it came time to find new tenants, they again exceeded our expectations by securing (in the pandemic) 12 months advance rent at nearly the same rate.I wouldn't use JDW for management purposes as they seemed slightly inefficient (perhaps as all agents are?) when they organised our EICR. Aside from this, Ed has always had time on the phone to discuss anything from particularities to the state of the market - and his experience shows. Furthermore, his lettings team are very friendly and on the ball.Highly recommended.

Estate agent that fails to adhere to tenancy agreement
Upon ending our contract, John D Wood failed to return the undisputed part of the deposit within the number of working days stated in the tenancy agreement (this was only returned after 10+ calls and numerous emails). The disputed part of the deposit amounting to several thousand pounds that the landlord attempted to withhold was unreasonable and ultimately deemed inappropriate by the courts. However, John D Woods did not acknowledge the tenant's evidence instead enabling and protecting the landlord's attempt to profit, upgrade the furnishings with our deposit and even steal money (for furniture that we had timestamped proof had been left in the property). Very uneven and biased estate agent, consistently acting in favour of landlord regardless of landlord's inappropriate behaviour.

WORST company
WORST company - they try to brand themselves as trustworthy but are cut from the same cloth. I worked for them so can speak in experience but they stole my commission in broad daylight. They are simply conditioned to be a bunch of hypocrites and thieves and will ensure their bottom line is what matters. Strongly advise to stay away from them. Don't believe in their marketing - they are all black wolves in sheep's clothing.

This company are scammers
This company are scammers, they ask for holding deposit then ask for 2yrs of rent upfront and when i told them it wasn’t possible they said they were going to issue a refund and it has been almost 3 weeks now and they haven’t issued it yett

Thank you for the 4 star review! However I am terribly sorry for the issue regarding this viewing and understand your frustration. Many Thanks.

Parsons Green team
The Parsons Green team have been brilliant throughout my whole process of finding and securing a rented property. From the first phone call to them, they have kept in regular contact and always been there to answer any questions quickly and efficiently. I'd like to especially mention Nicole C who has been there to liaise with throughout the whole process and has been approachable, efficient, and extremely helpful. Thanks again to the team

Buyer be aware! Stay away!
I lost 4 moths and 7k in fees because of misrepresentation. They fail to ask or choose to hide basic facts prior to listing a property causing a lot avoidable stress when you work with the right agent. This is fraud in the name of business Buyer be aware! Stay away.
